Federal Charges?
- Ending a nearly two-year investigation, Cook County prosecutors said Tuesday they will not charge any Chicago police officers in a 2005 fatal shooting of a motorist who was riddled with bullets after he allegedly tried to drive over an officer.
Although the shooting of Emmanuel Lopez initially was ruled by police to be justified, the Cook County state's attorney's office opened an investigation in 2006 after a private attorney brought forward evidence that contradicted the accounts of the five involved officers.
Charges would have sent shock waves through a Police Department already under siege for a string of misconduct scandals.
We wouldn't put it past him. And truly, that is a sad commentary on his regime.

It took a year for the lawfirm to track down a relative in mexico so they could file the lawsuit. Even his family didnt care about him enough to know he was dead. Now of course they love him $$$$

Here's my sad take: While I really don't want anyone indicted, I do believe that the State's declination is going to make Terry Ekl a veritable fortune in settlement money. The dead illegal would have been worth a lot less in front of a jury if some cops were behind bars paying for it. Now Ekl can scream and yell in front of a jury about a "cover up." That shit translates to mega-dollar jury verdicts. We're screwed, any way you slice it or dice it.

Is that the one from 006, around 92nd and Burnside, from about 3 years ago, maybe 4? The one where her son did a hit and run, I believe, got caught, and she told him to leave again after he was found in the car with her?

seems like a reasonable thing to do if the evidence was credible. no different than an incident non-cops might have been involved in.
you guys need to stop thinking the whole world is out to get you. a few probably are, but this sounds legit if there was some credible evidence brought forth.

Why is Blago still walking the streets while everyone else on the shakedown shuttle been convicted or plead out? I hope that politics is not holding up his indictment till after the presidential election! Let the chips fall where they may now!
And while we are talking why has the Al Sanchez trial not started? The faster he is convicted the faster you can indict individual “A” and maybe his wife. Then maybe his partner who started the HDO. You have to keep working up that food chain. But what is the hold up?

Since you have no worries about the vengeful tactics of the CPD and the City of Chicago why don't you do the working police a favor? File a (FOIA) Freedom of Information Request for those transcripts and then send them to SCC.
I am sure that they will provide public service by disseminating them properly.

No...she lives in Cabrini; worked in 012. Currently assigned to call back. She attacked two 018 coppers that tried to pinch her boyfriend for just doin what he do.

There was no credible evidence, I was on the scene after the shooting it was all good, Elk is just looking for a pay day.
