Yeah, we know. But seldom is it more obvious than as pointed out by a sharp eyed reader. First we have Daley in Wednesday's Sun Times:

Mayor Daley on Tuesday accused state Sen. James Meeks (D-Chicago) of selfishly and destructively using children as pawns by leading an opening day boycott to protest the school funding disparity between rich and poor districts. [...]
"You can get frustrated. But you cannot use children in any capacity to get some political decision made."
And as was pointed out:
- Children's Museum to be moved from Navy Pier to Grant Park in violation of any number of City ordinances - but it's all for the children you know;
- Daley lapdog and CPS head Arne Duncan permitting thousands upon thousand of students to skip school for an "anti-gun rally" at Soldier Field - exploitation of children for a political end? Just maybe? A little bit?
We're sure there are other instances. It's always "for the children." Daley doesn't want Meeks stealing his thunder.

Lt. Gov. Quinn seeks to get a RECALL REFERENDUM INITIATIVE on the ballot for elected state officials. How about a RECALL for the Shitcago and Crook Co. polticians who would then be held accountable to the electorate?
If given the legal opportunity, how many of us would gladly volunteer to take the axe to the heads of Daley, Stroger, Blagojevich, Ryan, Durbin, Obama and their ilk?
They could even auction off the privilege to serve as their executioner on eBay for a tidy sum.
When another politican steals the attention from daley, he attacks. The children museum is a pure political move and his family will reap the rewards.
Meeks called off his boycott today. Thank god! He brought the school system to its knees with the tens of thousands of children who participated in the boycott. What? Only a thousand on the first day and hundreds on the second day????? I guess Meeks acted like Sadamm Hussein after the Gulf War when he claimed victory over the U.S.. Meeks, your boycott was a huge failure! You are a poverty pimp. Why doesn't the media report the truth..that every school district in the State of Illinois gets the exact same amount of funding from the state..exactly the same! The difference is the amount of local taxes people pay for their school districts. The people up near New Trier pay up the ass in taxes, while residents of the Roseland community pay very little taxes if any. The state law makers should make school funding fair. Start by making these lazy pieces of shit pay taxes. I don't think it's fair that I pay taxes to send pookie to school when his momma and daddy don't pay for shit. I send my kids to private school so they don't pick up the habits of the little savages in public school. I don't know what car Meeks drives now, but years ago he had a light green Jaguar and a silver Merecedes Benz..of course..registered to Salem Baptist Church. He is a liar and a poverty pimp! Meeks, if you paid taxes on all the goodies you get by using Salem Baptist's tax exempt status, maybe the state could come up with more tax dollars for your chilllrennn. One other point..how does Meeks explain the performance of Chicago Public Schools on the Southwest and Northwest sides? You know..white and hispanic schools. They are doing much better than the schools surrounding Salem Baptist because of parents who give a shit about their children. By the by...how many of Meek's church members live in Chicago and send their children to Chicago Public Schools? Seems like when I patrolled around Salem Baptist, most of the plates I ran came back to suburban addresses? Hmmmm.

How about you posting the specific actions and inactions which you consider to be worthy of your criticism.

Sometime shortly before the Fireman went out on strike in 1980, then Mayor Jane Byrne was asked about the status of the contract she had promised the fireman when she was running for mayor. Her response was "the firemen aren't ready for a contract". Shortly after that, the pissing contest between Byrne and Frank "Moon" Muscari escalated and the firemen took a walk. For about a month, the CPD assigned personnel to guard the firehouses against potential vandalism from the "brotherhood of the barrel". I remember they postponed the detectives examination because of the strike.
Shortly after that, FOP was chosen to be the bargaining agent for the Police and we got the first contract. It was always my feeling that Byrne gave police the contract, no so much as a measure of recognizing what was deserved but more as a means to say fuck you to the fireman, especially Muscare and those who took a walk out the door to strike.
Then I remember sitting in the roll call room before the first watch, and a copper sitting there, reading the proposal for the second contract. And he keeps repeating, "they're fucking us, they're fucking us. So I ask, where are we getting fucked on this contract. And his response was, "I dunno, but they are".
And I think of that when I read a lot of the posts here. When I came on we were told that the Police now make more than 70% of the people working and that theft, graft and all the rest of the shit that would be sidestepped in the past wouldn't be tolerated anymore and there wouldn't be any sympathy from the citizenry because we made more money than them.
When I read the blogs here, about what a cocksucker the Mayor is, and how everyone in government is a thief, and how all the bosses are jagoffs, and how nobody should write movers, or if they do, they should only write ones that will get tossed, and how nobody should do any work and fuck this city and blah blah blah. Well, that pisses me off, that the police are the ones fucking over the city. And when I hear the city referred to as Shitcago here, I think the bloggers here are a bunch of one way mother fuckers who want to be paid, but dont want to earn their money. Now you asked me for specifics about the things I've criticized and I say all you have to do is go through the comments that have been posted here for the past year on almost any topic. I know gallows humor offsets the the us against them conflicts we face every shift.
But at the end of the day, this is what we chose to do. If you don't like doing it anymore, then find something else to do. If you just want to draw a check, and do nothing, and ignore your responsibilities, then I think you forfeit your right to criticize anybody. You become one of those you criticize.
How many jobs have medical benefits like the police? A lot of discussion here talks about morale and how low it is. I think its bullshit for a guy to go to work, study for all the promotional exams to advance himself and then have the mayor hire a guy with bigger tits than my wife to be superintendent, especially when he's never worked a car, handled a domestic or taken a case report. Similarly I think its bullshit that they take an ex priest who couldn't find his ass with both hands in his back pockets to be an ADS. That I think is demoralizing. But in actuality, how often does a blue shirt have to deal with the exempts on a daily basis?
I repeat what I've said on a lot of previous posts. If you don't like what you're doing, go find something else to do. But for Chrissakes, quit your moaning and take a little responsibility for your own station in life. The fact of the matter is about 99% of the shit in our lives is our own doing. I'm done.

This sounds a lot like the complaints of the rank and file that you are criticizing for complaining.
Granted, human beings are complicated, complex creatures that can, simultaneously and fervently, have conflicting and contradicting opinions, so, if this is the case for you, it merely means you are a human being.
But the only specific criticism you seem willing to post is that patrol isn't bringing home the bacon like the hogs at city hall want them to.
