Law and order coming to Englewood? Perhaps some of the old SOS guys knew what they were doing getting guns off the street? It didn't take them long to find this one:
A police officer shot a person this evening in the vicinity of 69th and Aberdeen Streets, according to Chicago Police News Affairs.
Chicago Fire Department officials said they transported a 14-year-old boy from 69th and Aberdeen to Comer Children's Hospital in "stable" condition with a gunshot wound to the hand and chest.
The shooting happened about 8:10 p.m.
The Slum Times headline reads "Boy, 14, 'stable' after shooting" keeping the police out of the headline - an unusual occurrence to say the least.

Yeah great job "MSF" and old-time SOS guy - this kid was shot 45 minutes into the new strike force regime with a ridiculous toy gun in his hand that resembled Buck Rogers's! The faces that were seen in the Strike Force resembled a who's who of goofs, idiots and morons that we thought would apply. Jodi's face at the scene pretty much said it all.

Fleets of cars from the ghetto dropping their kids off because that can't trick-or-treat in their own neighborhood. Half not in costumes. The same cars speeding down the streets or blocking traffic/crosswalks to talk to each other.
The same kids shoving their hands in the bowl and taking as much candy as they could get, rarely saying, "Thank you."
Mama holding a bag out saying, " We got a sick one at home." or expecting candy for the baby who obviously can't eat candy yet.
Three neighbor's left bowls out on the honor system, but of course TEENAGE kids, not from Beverly of course, dumped the bowls in their bags. Mama, parked in her van down the street says, "My kids would never do that."
But, of course, we're the racist white/Irish people.

For the first time this year, I turned off the porch lights and didn't answer the door. I was tired of rude, non-costumed, non-neighborhood 12 year olds raising hell on my street. Fuck em. They've even ruined this holiday for the rest of society.

The guy doesn't know how to turn himself off, and it has been a source of embarrassment to the Dept for many years.

After seeing the kind of people walking around the neighborhood and especially Western Ave I changed my mind and cancelled my appointment. You choose to live there. Are you telling me the only time the residents East of you come to the neighborhood is Halloween? Not from what I saw. Keep your neighborhood. The beautiful houses and huge additions are a waste of money. If you think that investment is worth it, it isn't. I can't believe they think they can charge the same as a NW side home.

The reality is MSF is a publicity stunt for Weiss. Nothing has changed. A new title to a old idea. Patrol suffers as more officers pulled from beat cars. The old SOS had street talnet but very poor leadership. They paid the price. How can they train officers in one week with less than 5 years to be effective on the street? All smoke and mirrors. I feel for the officers that believe in this media stunt.

I live in south end of Edison park and there were numerous children not from this area trick/treating. So what! Who cares? They are just children. They had costumes on and were friendly. Many did not speak english. They still received candy. No damage to my property and enjoyed the evening. I was more worried about geeting caught by the department for consuming three beers that night. More afraid of CPD than children looking for candy.

I'm showing up in my cargo pants, carrying whatever I need for safety, including a knife in case I run out of bullets or gun malfunctions or god forbid, a mob gets it. Forget the safety holster, someone could take your whole belt if you're stunned by a blow to the head.
Not looking for trouble, not going to be proactive except to protect other PO's. Bring it on already, let's just get it done.
Here's a chance for us to show our solidarity, over however minimal an issue. EVERYBODY SHOW UP IN YOUR CARGO PANTS, NO SHINY HAT...CAPS AND HELMETS!!!! Show them we can band together and stand in defiance of their assinine orders that are detrimental to our safety!

Sorry "retired Midway Cop" but you're wrong about the black copper out at Midway.
He isn't a prisoner, and he can bid out anytime if he's so miserable. His actions with regard to female travelers has put him in the position he is in now, cuffed to a desk. Constant pursuit of tail is not always an admirable trait, particularly in some male officers. The guy doesn't know how to turn himself off, and it has been a source of embarrassment to the Dept for many years.
It's time the Dept decided that this puppy can be trusted off the leash. He probably will be shuffled ouÞ of there completely in the next month or so. He should be permamently assigned to callback so as to limit the amount of contact with female citizens while on duty.

Then why is the lT so "weak"? Maybe she needs to go as she is "ineffective" and has no clue! Maybe she needs to go where she is needed like retired on a pension, and quit doing everything she can to ruin morale! The black officer was elected overwelming to be our rep that says something, many female officers voted for him why? Could the boss be lying? If he has so many beefs why is he still here and why did all the females vote for him including the secretary? The secret ballot was not so secret!

Officer JJ at Midway is a sick man. Always has been. Always in pursuit. It's gotten old, and he's been jugged for it before.
He's even been pinched in the past, but it was dropped in court.
He's embarrassed the job long enough. Hopefully someone in Hdqtrs can find a secluded space somewhere for him until he puts in his papers where his exposure to females is extremely limited.
It's not about race here. He's not a stupid guy, but I think he doesn't see himself as someone with a compulsive disorder. People with this find lots to chase about in public service jobs. But now it's become not only an embarrassment, but a liability as well. Time for someone to correct this situation, and soon.

I have never written anything before on this blog and have only read off here a couple of times. It was brought to my attention there were negative comments about the officers shooting in 007 the other night. I read some of them commenting that "he is a two year wonder" or "that it was a Buck Rogers toy gun" or that he was "trigger happy". First off how absolutly disappointing!!!! For those of you that made comments like that would you rather of had the officer hesitate to make for certain, in that dark alley after a foot chase, that the gun the offender was pulling from his waistband and pointing at him to be real??? That split second could of had a terrible outcome...do we really want to attend another police funeral??? I know that I've attended way to many! It's obvious that many of you who Monday morning quarterbacked that officer have never been in a situation like that so you really shouldn't speak about things you don't know about. And for those of you that are not the police making negative comments are just a bunch of liberal ASSHOLES who don't know a thing about being the police or about the real world. Also I would like to personally thank everybody who supported that officer. All I care about is that I get to see my brother alive and in one piece and that he got to come home to his wife and children!!!! JOB WELL DONE!!

I live in south end of Edison park and there were numerous children not from this area trick/treating. So what! Who cares? They are just children. They had costumes on and were friendly. Many did not speak english. They still received candy. No damage to my property and enjoyed the evening. I was more worried about geeting caught by the department for consuming three beers that night. More afraid of CPD than children looking for candy.

Why don't you read my entire post before you write your, "I'm So Wonderfully Liberal And You're A Racist B.S."
Half the kids didn't have costumes, many were impolite and pushy (rarely did I get a Thank You), adults expected candy, teenagers in white t-shirts and dark jeans expected candy, and their cars were speeding down the streets (very safe!)and blocking traffic.
Oh, and after I wrote my post I found out that my neighbor's car was broken into that night.
And yes, I gave everyone candy.
If you didn't want to give your candy out to ALL of the kids who showed up at your door,Beverly Cop, then you should have just kept your door shut and not given anything out to ANY KID. I don't know you, but you sound like God needs to pay your house a visit
