Evidently, 023 is getting a new station. Reports are Harbour Construction has won the contract for a building just west of the current station.
And 012 is on the drawing board again. Anyone know where they plan to put it? The Ashland site went to a new Costco.

I smell rat deals. So the medical district givesthe alnd to the city for free to put the 012th dist station on 1400 s ashland. The city sells the land to costco and makes money out of the deal. Where did the money go. I know you reporters are too busy riding the get blago wagon. The wagon will run out of gas and then what are you going to report on cops in trouble. Please. The trib is going under and after they are found to be involved in the crooked deals with the democRATS it'll be the final blow to the media. Don't believe me Barry blasts the Trib on national TV the next day they endorse Barry for president.
Was just looking at the FOP website. Besides the work schedule agreement there hasn't been a contract update since June.

I was in one of your new stations the other day, my God, someone sure cut corners and purchased the cheapest building materials they could. I can bet they were the minority, low bid, companies too. Oh, almost forgot, also connected to City Hall in receiving the contract. The District station was fairly new and already had cracks running up the walls on the inside where the building settled. It's criminal that someone is getting away with this and spending the taxpayers hard earned dollars and awarding contracts to individuals that have no idea as to what they are doing.

there was a rat deal on the land for the proposed new 009 station as well. i hear the city seized the land under eminent domain, closing businesses, and then sold it to a developer who built condos.

If the kids aren't criminals, they are related to one, two, three... That is the issue, they're against anything that will help the police in fighting the criminals.

One of, if not THE best Captain I have had the privilege of working for. Yes, it is true, HE HATES DOG ASSES!! Which truly makes 019 a VERY tough place to be a boss... It is FULL of fucking dog ass losers who do not like a boss who is not afraid to call their lazy no good asses to task! You want to get MR off your ass??? DO YOUR FUCKING JOB!!! No one is saying go out there and save the universe you fucking dog, but do your fucking job and he will get off your ass! 019 is so full of these paycheck collecting dim wits it needs a guy like MR to keep these tools in check... Now I know you are mad that he doesnt allow you to NOT back up other coppers, nor does he allow you to FUCK other guys by staying down on a #2 parker for an hour and a half, nor does he allow you to be down on a traffic accident while you demand your discount at the Lincoln room so for that Im sure he has alll kinds of regrets... but I have learned that if you dont like MR then that says loads about your work ethic! They are both already in the city, Costco-at Diversey/Clybourn, Walmart- North/between Kostner-Cicero........

I was in one of your new stations the other day, my God, someone sure cut corners and purchased the cheapest building materials they could. I can bet they were the minority, low bid, companies too. Oh, almost forgot, also connected to City Hall in receiving the contract. The District station was fairly new and already had cracks running up the walls on the inside where the building settled. It's criminal that someone is getting away with this and spending the taxpayers hard earned dollars and awarding contracts to individuals that have no idea as to what they are doing.
Cheapest building materials? You're either mistaken or misinformed. Terrazo floors, marble/granite work surfaces....these buildings are built for the long haul. I invited one of my college buddies who owns a flooring business over to see my new station and the first thing he said was the carpet and tile in the building were almost the most expensive on the market. But not just expensive but the stuff that'll last forever and easily replaced when at the end of it's service life. Biggest problems with the new stations is that they're full of lazy coppers that treat the place like the 75+ year old shithole we just moved out of. Locks and door-glass panels break from coppers pushing on the glass instead of the HANDLE and when the glass gets loose, no one calls the district manager or Property Management. Hey....just like anything else, buildings have warrantees as well. Someone will come out to fix these things.
When they succeeded in breaking off the INSIDE door handle to the processing area, someone came out and installed an old u-shaped "screen door" handle to the inside of the door.....and never replaced the original handle.
Doors to the sally port work so infrequently that most guys bring their prisoners through the regular "police only" doors, completely invalidating the expense of even having sallyports. Again...I'll bet no one upstairs is ever aware there's a problem.
Whenever furniture in the tac office breaks, they go on a treasure hunt and drag their broken stuff into the hallway and switch it with whatever they can find from the roll-call room or the office next to the line-up room. They give us new stations, new cars, new PDTs and when some guys go out of their way to break stuff, we whine by saying "it's all junk and they don't take care of us." Typical cop bullshit.

Are you high? go to 35th and Michigan the building sank 3 or 4 inches one weekend right after it was built. The floors are all cockeyed, the chairs move by themselves. 1st District large cracks in the concrete walls. It takes for ever to get burnt out lights replaced. Try to get a key made or a lock fixed takes months.
Nice. Mayor Shortshanks comes out on a rainy Saturday to show off the new Bridgeport station, but won't come out to celebrate St Jude's with us.

Ummmm. Perhaps some of the interior materials are built to last forever, but the rest of the building will be crumbling around it. Our district--cracks in the secure vestibule walls as well as other places. Yes, we got the same industrial screen door handle on the inside of the lockup door. Says loads about the original equipment stuff...And if you believe the minority contractor is coming out and fixing any of this stuff, you are sadly mistaken.
Ever heard of structural 'clip angles'? A fair number of them NEVER INSTALLED ON THIS BUILDING. But supposedly someone came out to look at putting them in.(3 years late) Your fancy carpet, terrazzo floor and granite desk will still be there, only thing is you will have all 4 walls missing around you
District manager is supposed to be in charge of building, so I might assume SHE would be walking around taking notes as to broken furniture, etc.; but sadly this is not the case. If you don't tell her, she has no clue. When you do tell her, it still probably won't get fixed. So, why bother?

Prior to M.R. there was a very nice captain T.B. (R.I.P.) who was a great guy, and the bastardss there walked all over him, and did shit in the process....
