- Authorities plan to resume searching Wednesday morning for a tiger that escaped from an animal sanctuary at Albion, Ind., which is about 25 miles north of Fort Wayne.
Authorities shot the Bengal tiger with a tranquilizer but called off a search Tuesday night when the big cat wasn't captured.
Noble County 911 Director Mitch Fiandt says the 18-year-old female tiger escaped from the Black Pine Animal Park about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
We've had coyotes and cougars. Why not a tiger?

No problem. The minute the tiger enters that suburb of Gary at Brainerd Avenue, the toxic waste will make him glow in the dark. Hence, an easy target.
I just got in. No tiger. But I did see a 7 foot kangaroo drinking a forty outside Mann Park at 132nd and Carondolet. I lost him at 130th and Baltimore. He's probably hopped over to the trailer park or Wolf Lake by now.
As always, no south end squads in 004.

Us Hegewishians aren't worried about a tiger. We've got all sorts of wildlife from alligator snapping turtles, hoot owls, red foxes and even the occassional coyote but we're more concerened about the savages entering our what used to be a nice quit clean neighborhood. Their's no police in Hegewisch so that tiger will grow to a very ripe old age.
