Jackson Jr. Gets Tangled
This just keeps getting better. Junior, who learned the basics of "pay-to-play" politics at his extortionist father's knee, no denies having anything to do with "pay-to-play" politics at all:
Jesse Jackson Jr.'s exceptionally public quest to replace Barack Obama as the junior U.S. senator from Illinois now involves hiring a lawyer to escort him to a meeting with federal corruption investigators Friday.
Jackson, a Democratic congressman from the South Side, held a news conference today in Washington to deny any involvement in Gov. Rod Blagojevich's alleged scheme to sell the Senate spot to the highest bidder. But the normally voluble Jackson declined to deviate from his script and take questions from reporters, and he did not directly address his status as the unidentified "Senate Candidate 5" in court documents in the case against Blagojevich.
Gee, why would this be?
- Montgomery said a high-ranking official in U.S. Atty. Patrick Fitzgerald's office told him and the congressman that Jackson is not a target of the investigation.
"Not a target" at this time? But nothing about maybe if "something comes up" at a later time, eh? There are going to be a whole bunch of people appearing before Federal investigators and Federal Grand Juries in the coming months, and every single one of them is going to have to account for actions, statements and conversations that may or may not be on wiretaps.
Our bet is that Jackson is claiming he didn't "send" an emissary to Blago to buy the Senate seat, but when the entire narrative comes out, we're going to see at least one high level resignation in his office.
Now what about candidates #2, #3, and #4?

Jackson Jr says he is not "a target of this" investifation. No crap dumby. Blowgo was the target. Be prepared to be a target of another investigation.
This is why the FBI pulled the plug on the wire tap when they did. Somebody "important" was going to get busted on tape....Obama? Jackson Sr.? Jackson Jr.? FBI was told to stop before it got too deep.

Once Blago gets... "Squeeeeezed" by Fitz ala Grand Jury, he'll give up Jesse Jr. relative to 'context' of their conversation (i.e. pay to play)
Right now the self rightous J.J. Jr. "only" admits to a meeting/conversation with Blago as that was captured by the media and well known. Only Blago/Jesse know what was discussed.
Better yet, Jesse continues to deny illegal conversation all the way to the Grand Jury, then Fitz plays his hidden ace-in-the-hole card and reveals he has the "recorded" conversation between the two, previously unaware of it's existence by (JJ) Jr. and (J.O.) Montgomery.

It would be swell if Blago did name Jesse Jr. to fill Obama's senate seat before the state legislature convenes on monday. Do right by the whole Jackson family and label Jr. a complicit rat for all to see. That would be a fitting end to Jr.'s underachieving political career.

How do you think that "wrong" church got a million dollars Pilgrim church was supposed to get and then didn't have to give it back after it was discovered that it was a mistake AND the church leader was a convicted felon.

The main comment was "Blago is innocent until proven guilty." The Senator candidates who wanted to buy the position are the ones the public should be as interested in as Blago. I hope he takes as many of those crooks down with him as he can. They are all crooks and stinkers.

I see it like this pursuant to Fitz's pulling the trigger:
If he kept his powder dry and allowed the senate seat to be sold, that would have really torqued-up a big, big fall for the people who have just ascended to high places in D.C. Those people would use every resource available to them to shut Fitz down and they probably would have got away with it with the help of a willing media and others in the Washington culture who stay in power no matter who moves in or out of the White House and who are looking to make self-serving deals and collect chits.
By Fitz pulling the trigger now on his own terms and applying pressure to the weakest-link, Blago, the tough guy on the outside but a soon to be wimpering pussy who is facing real time in ClubFed, Fitz has put them all in a really tight spot.
The country, the world and the media can not ignore Obama's firing Fitz once taking office and I think that's why Fitz did what he did when he did so Obama can't fire him once taking office.

Rahm didn't tip anyone off. Rahm is a step away from being a target. Katalinic and Sorich went to prison for using city workers to walk precincts for Rahm and then promoting them for it.
If a senators job goes for 1/2 million to a full million how much will sergeants stripes cost me? The price must be up with inflation.

IT DOESN'T MATTER!!! Once the messiah takes office, sentences will either be commuted, pardoned or the investigations will be squashed and Fitz will be a thing of the past. Sure, I have a lot of confidence in their ability to identify "Slicksters", since a full 3 percent of them didn't vote for Osama Hussein.
