This Could Get Interesting
Policies that engender a disrespect for the law just might open up the policy makers to problems:
Margaret Rains and Haley Tepe were sitting down to enjoy ice cream at a Baskin-Robbins in Aurora, Colo., when a sport utility vehicle driven by an illegal immigrant sent two cars plowing into the shop, leaving three dead and the two women injured.
Now the women are taking action against the city of Denver, arguing that its sanctuary-city policy contributed to the Sept. 4 crash. The driver, 23-year-old Francis Hernandez, had been arrested numerous times by Denver police, but was never reported to federal immigration authorities.
Since illegal immigration was and continues to be such a hot button issue, sanctuary policies ought to come under more fire in the courts and legislatures. And if lawmakers can't be held liable in civil court, they ought to beheld liable at the ballot box.

i must say... they make a very good point in the lawsuit. im not trying to have a liberal view on this or anything since i am a stauch republican but, i really do not see the mexicans as being a bad part of society. most of them are hard workers and decent citizens who obey the law...however, there are those that dont give a sh*t and do what ever they want because thats the way it was in mexico. it is a hot button topic, but im all for letting people into this country, but they should have to follow all laws and rules or they should be arrested and if it is a felony they should be immediatly deported without trial. thats just my opinion. officers, we(the public) truly do value you all and i pray for firemen and police officers everynight. please stay safe while doing the lords work.
Finally!
I hope they win. BIG.
How do we condone violating Federal law?
If the COWARD POLITICIANS refuse to go on record as supporting US Federal Immigration laws, then these lawsuits are necessary.
Once one of them are successful, watch the ambulance chasers jump on board ! ! !
The fucking strokes on Denver's city council actually forced a law change. Because of them and their sanctuary policy, Colo. state law now requires us to call INS (well, ICE now) for basically every arrestee now.
Which we should have been doing all along, except for the city council which thinks that they're elected by the cholos that cruise up and down Federal Blvd. and the votes of US citizens don't count.
The Mayor never met an illegal he didnt permanently affix his lips to their ass.
Porsche owner from Hoffman Estates to remain in County Jail

He is held on probation violation while police investigate fatal Florida hit-run
Tribune staff report
February 27, 2009
The owner of a Porsche involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed two British tourists in Florida will remain in jail for at least six weeks, a Cook County judge ruled Thursday.
Ryan LeVin of Hoffman Estates is expected to be placed in a substance-abuse program at the Cook County Jail. He was taken into custody this week after the judge said he violated probation from a 2006 case.
LeVin, 34, was arrested in 2006 after running over a Chicago police officer with a different Porsche and sparking a chase on the Kennedy Expressway.
{He has something like 50 traffic violations in Cook County alone.]

Jailed Playboy Pulled From Fast Lane

He's 34 years old and has been living a privileged life in the lap of luxury in Southern Florida.
Can you say spoiled brat?
But the gravy train may be coming to a end for Hoffman Estates native Ryan LeVin, heir to a family fortune and dubbed a "millionaire playboy" by British tabloids.
LeVin was arrested and jailed in Cook County Tuesday on a parole violation stemming from a 2006 car chase in Chicago, not on charges related to his more recent tangle with the law.
Authorities in Florida are investigating LeVin's involvement in a double-fatal hit-and-run crash that killed two British tourists in Ft. Lauderdale on Feb. 13...

It is somewhat interesting that to the US, Mexico is the second largest threat,

and yet, we hum-de-de-de-hum-de along like nothing is wrong, "No problems here citizens" it not the illegal's in Chicago they're talking about - obviously!!!
I hope those family's win BIG!!!!
I am all about fair, giving people opportunities BUT have them follow the rules. Apply for citizenship, learn the language, get a Driver's License.
When an illegal immigrant is able to purchase a home, at greater ease than a US citizen something is amiss.
I agree this immigrant should of been reported to ICE. Keep in mind however, that immigrants who enter this country do the grunt work that you and I will not allowed ourselves to do. They are the landscapers, janitors, babysitters for the yuppies, the busboys, and the "top chefs" in most restaurants. Most immigrants enter this country to better themselves.
Do you actually think the City will change it's policy? One of your own officers was killed by an illegal in 2004 in the Line of Duty. The illegal had prior contact with CPD but was never turned in to ICE. I'm sure if this involved someone from the Mayor's family, things would have changed.
I think the "Sanctuary Cities" should rethink their policies. Especially with all the violence that is happening in Mexico now. That violence is spreading to this country. I heard an officer from Phoenix talk about all the kidnappings they are experiencing in that city. Do these politicians really think that only the good, hardworking Mexicans are coming across the border.
I hope the officers call ICE anonymously after an encounter with an illegal alian. What do the illegals have to do before they go to jail and are deported?
Yes, there are a lot of good, hard working Mexicans, but they have to follow the rules the same as anyone else does to come into our country.
I may be cynical but I think the politicians want to give amnesty to the illegals and then citizenship. Guess who they will be voting for then?
Keep up the good work and keep ICE phone number handy.
My partner and I did a poll recently on our own. 97% of the hispanic drivers we stopped for traffic violations in a 3 month period did not have a drivers license. We are by no means traffic fanatics and didn't write half of them. I know we should have. It does no good though.
Make a traffic court north and south instead of in that rats dads building and I'll pick up the pace.

This country gets softer by the day after the election of the socialist partys very own BHO
President Bush did a pathetic job when it came to immigration. Bush could have cut off any states federal money when said state didn't follow or enforce federal law. John McCain would be President right now had he promised to do this. He didn't have the balls!!!!!!!
Get ready for about 200,000 illegal aliens to be resettled in Cook County when Mexico collapses and millions of refugees head north.
Link card, free healthcare, and fasttrack to citizenship and voting rights coming to a house near you!
Keep paying suckers! Oh, and BTW, you will be rationed healthcare so as to make it fair.
If the family of the guy that ran into the red line can sue the city because the police didn't prevent it can we sue the city for every crime committed by and illegal alien?

So because a portion of immigrants are hard workers they should all be given a free pass? The bottom line is if you come here to better yourself and follow the laws fine. If you break the law you should be deported.
Yeah and "prosecutors are putting a case together against an illegal Irish immigrant named Catherine O'Leary for a mysterious fire that broke out in her barn late Sunday night"..... WE WERE ALL IMMIGRANTS ONCE! deal with it!
That's fine, better yourself but, don't ruin my society in the process.
Ever think the fact that they do the job for next to nothing keeps wages down for those jobs.
Wages are a fight between supply and demand.
I agree this immigrant should of been reported to ICE. Keep in mind however, that immigrants who enter this country do the grunt work that you and I will not allowed ourselves to do. Hey you liberal asshole, just wanted to let you know how wrong you are about those jobs you say we wouldn't do. Worked as a janitor/ busboy, have babysat and did landscaping to pay for college so don't give me that liberal thinking bullshit. Oh and I also did roofing in the hot summertime too.
God bless the dead andthe person suing i correct the city of Dever knowingly and unlawfully placed its citizens in danger by being neglegent in its diregard for the laws of this country.
4:45am says Immigrants do the grunt work that most won't do? How about having those section 8 link card folks do these jobs? How about an end to all the free-bees?
Finally, a lawsuit I think we can ALL get behind.
Um, just an FYI... many of these immigrants are NOT even Mexican. They are from a plethora of other nations in Latin America and the Middle East.
It's akin to saying that every white person is Polish. Irish? Pfft.. you're all from Warsaw.
Keep in mind however, that immigrants who enter this country do the grunt work that you and I will not allowed ourselves to do. They are the landscapers, janitors, babysitters for the yuppies, the busboys, and the "top chefs" in most restaurants. Most immigrants enter this country to better themselves.
Yeah, and my great grandparents did the same shitty, stupid jobs when they got here too. I'm sure yours did too, that's the way it's always been for immigrants everywhere. The difference is they had to follow the laws and rules of the US to be able to get in and even then some didn't. Deportation and sneaking back in wasn't an option when you had to cross an ocean.
Rationalizing illegal immigration like this is the reason California is collapsing. The astronomical cost of providing citizen-paid services (schools, healthcare, etc.) to non-citizens is not a sustainable option.
Sad to see so many killed/injured. Thumbs up to the ladies that are going to try and make the State/City accountable!
We need more of that!
"I agree this immigrant should of been reported to ICE. Keep in mind however, that immigrants who enter this country do the grunt work that you and I will not allowed ourselves to do. In light of the current economic times, I'm sure there are many American citizens and legal immigrants that would be willing to do these jobs now, after losing theirs. With unemployment now at almost 8%, illegals are taking the grunt work jobs that out of work Americans could be doing. Hundreds of millions of dollars earned by illegals in this country each year are sent back home to Mexico. This has a two fold negative effect on our economy; taking jobs from legal citizens and removing wealth from our country. Not to mention all the lost tax revenue since most illegals don't pay income tax, burden on our health care system, school system and bad credit and mortgage loans which our govt. forced banks to provide. I could go on and on...
Secure our borders now and deport those here illegally!
How can we vote all of these goofs but "Mike Shields" off the pension board?
Mike Shields seems to be the only guy that gives a damn about our money and who is stealing from our Pension!
Alderman Ricardo Munoz's 22nd Ward south end of the 010th district is full of illegal immigrants using the streets and sidewalks to sell something to make a profit all of this is contrary to our city ordinances and selling use cars on the streets contrary to Ill vehicle code this is an example of honest services fraud committed by Alderman Munoz who took an oath to uphold our laws....
Mexico is so dangerous that you shouldn't even let your kid go there for spring break, but it's perfectly OK for half of Mexico to come here and just stay.
Got that?
I was thinking about this yesterday when I stopped to haul the remains of yet another smashed stop sign off the corner so people could get by...025 is something else. It'd be better to put the stores and businesses in the middle of Grand Avenue so these people could drive on the sidewalks more safely.
Yeah and "prosecutors are putting a case together against an illegal Irish immigrant named Catherine O'Leary for a mysterious fire that broke out in her barn late Sunday night"..... WE WERE ALL IMMIGRANTS ONCE! deal with it!
2/28/2009 09:09:00 AM
Hey asshole, first of all it was proven the cow was innocent and just got a bum rap. Try reading a book once in a while. Secondly, nobody says we shouldn't allow immigrants, we say we shouldn't allow ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Despite what you worthless liberals think, there is a difference between the two...

Most immigrants DO go to a new country to better themselves and to make a better life for their families. No argument there.
However, this country has an immigration policy in place. It allows for a certain amount of LEGAL immigrants each year. It accounts for natural disasters and political and personal persecution. It is a CONTROL that exists for the economic and personal protection of the citizens and legal residents of this country.
Illegal immigration circumvents the controls of background checks, medical concerns and the economic stability of the host country. A fair, but firm, immigration policy is critical. Not enforcing the one that exists is CRIMINAL.
As for those landscaper, janitor, babysitter, busboy and 'top chef' (huh?) jobs... those are called 'starter jobs'. Maybe YOU were born with a silver spoon, but I've done several of those jobs and moved on to better ones, while going to college, then joing the CPD. My parents and grandparents weren't ashamed to do those jobs, either; that's what put a roof over our heads and food on our tables.
It says a lot about your personal opinion of those jobs, that you think they're menial or beneath you. There are millions of out of work American citizens who would be happy to have those jobs right now, but the flood of illegals (not 'undocumenteds', but ILLEGALS) has a monopoly on the market.
I agree! I would sue the shit out daley for allowing all the illegal activity! daley again breaks federal law but wants all of us to obey every law! The daley crime machine is in full swing! John Gotti was a saint compared to the daley criminal empire!
Big news about charges coming regarding the D.C. Chandra Levy murder about 10 years ago.
The illegal immigrant from honduras was about to be charged.
He was already doin time.
Suddenly it disappeared from the headlines.
What happened? Was he charged?
It is big news, with a congressman involved and all. But the media caught itself and all off a sudden the story is off the radar.
Coincidence?? No, scumbag media at is's best.
Yes, there are a lot of good, hard working Mexicans, but they have to follow the rules the same as anyone else does to come into our country.

About fifteen years ago my father said that the time was coming when the amount of people taking out of the system would begin to outnumber the people that were putting into it.
This depression is going to illustrate that more than ever. It's time to get rid of all the dead weight. The governments, local, state and nationally are all collapsing and that is the fucking reason.
Time for a revolution.
I've had it up to here with the "they do the jobs we won't" crowd. Deport them all and let the free market run like it is supposed to. I am pretty sure prices won't go crazy. They may inflate in the short term, but our long term benefits will kick butt. If you are saying our system will fall apart without the illegals, you don't think much of America. Look at California, the are just ahead of the curve with going broke.
Baby wanna Xanax! Waaaaa!
Update on this -- Ryan LeVin is indeed in CCJ, being held on NO BOND -- but he's in Division 8, the medical division. I was close. If you don't have money they sling you in just anywhere on a cement floor and let you writhe around puking for three days until you get over your dope sickness -- or die of meningitis, if that was your problem. Nice to have parents who sell diamonds and collect race horses for fun...
Rich useless motherfucker. They said he's "surprised" at being locked up. Only killed two people, after all.

Chicago: A Sanctuary City because?
1. U.S. citizenship isn't required to vote in municipal elections, only proof of residency.
2. Numbers vary but estimates of illegal immigrants in the city hover around 200k. In the last few municipal elections the born 7 naturalized citizen electorate is counted on as being too pissed/aggravated to bother going to the polls... That is how shortshanks claims a mandate of @ 80% of the "vote" or in REAL MATH, 80% of 25% of registered voters who even bothered going to vote.
3. Shortshanks made it a sanctuary to puff up HDO as he no longer gives a shit about the white ethnic voting bloc or the black voting block. If these are sufficiently riled up then he has on of his designated patsies run to siphon off votes.
3. He still very much gives a shit about the Lincoln Pk/Hyde Pk lakefront liberal vote... they have money so they're going to be taken care of...
Oh happy day when shortshanks new political base is destroyed... we will be watching what develops in Colorado with keen interest. The G should tell mayor shitshorts to fuck that sanctuary city noise, comply with federal statute & stfu... We don't have a problem with immigrants who are here lawfully. Of particular note is the nonsense the drug cartels are crossing the rio grande with... the southwestern U.S. has been dealing with some very ugly shit these drug gangs have been doing... border integrity should be enforced with vigilance.

you don't know what "free market" means do you? because if you did you would understand that immigration and "free market" economics HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER. If anything immigration laws are anti free market because they artificially restrict the labor pool. wake the fuck up retard.
I don't have a problem with people coming to the US for a better life for themselves & their families. But they should be compliant with existing laws, AND learn English. Do you think I could go to Poland or Mexico and be provided a DL exam in their respective languages? Hell no! And I don't blame them, either. If you drive a car here, you need to possess the ability to read and speak basic English. Especiallÿ if you are arrested for DUI. Those two ethnic groups tend to do a lot of that.
Do some of you have any clue how long it can take for an individual from Mexico (or another Latin American country) to legally come to the U.S.?
An average of 17 years.
Did your Irish parents, grandparents, great grandparents (etc) have to go through 17+ years of red tape to get into the U.S. legally?
If Ireland would have been south of the border it would be a bunch of paddies at Home Depot looking for work.
Hey McPotatoe eater.....Go fuck yourself and your liberal politics. If the immigration laws can be broken why not other laws like rape, robbery, burglary? where do we draw the line and why write laws in the first place if theres no enforcement? This is why our country is so fucked-up now! Laws dont matter you liberal piece of shit!
If anything immigration laws are anti free market because they artificially restrict the labor pool. wake the fuck up retard.

This is the type of attitude that I cannot comprehend. You advocate giving jobs to those who are here illegally because in your estimation those types of jobs are beneath you or are jobs "nobody wants". So with the current joblessness here in the US, don't you think a US citizen could use such a bs job to put food on their table? I'd take any second bs job I can get my hands on at this point! Screw the illegals!
"They do the jobs we don't want to do." Bullshit. Tell that to out of work Americans now. Some of them come here to get over and it costs us millions.
Come here the right way and there's no problem. Come here expecting something for nothing and to take advantage of the system and there is a problem.
I can't believe with the economy the way it is that the politicians are so quiet about how much illegal immigrants cost the taxpayer. We still have to pay for those who put nothing into the system and take quite a bit out of it.
Do you think the mexican economy is going down the toilet think again. Their economy is not heavily invested in the stockmarkets like the US. The tourists are still flocking to the Mexican resorts Europeans and canadiens mostly. I'll retire down there with the rest of the gringos.
I.C.E. - to report suspicious/illegal activity: 1-866-347-2423. Put this # in your FOP book and use it when appropriate. Keep in mind though that all calls are recorded.
Did your Irish parents, grandparents, great grandparents (etc) have to go through 17+ years of red tape to get into the U.S. legally?
Do you know anything about how immigration to the US used to work? Families would spend all of their savings (which probably took them quite a few years to save up) for a trip on a crowded boat just to reach Ellis Island, or some other entry point, and would receive a 6 second visual medical exam. If they looked sick or lame or the examiner just didn't like them, they were refused entry. Compared to that legal applications and your so-called "Red Tape" don't seem too bad.
Bypassing US law because it doesn't suit your interests isn't an excuse.

Tonight, CBS' _60 Minutes_ ran another story on the tremendous drug war/kidnappings in Mexico that is spilling over into the US. One Mexican police chief was told that one of his officers would be killed every 48 hours until he, the chief, resigned. They killed two cops and the chief did indeed resign.
They related one story in which a five-year-old boy whose parents ran a tiny stall selling fruit in the town square was kidnapped. When the ransom demands could not be met, the boy was killed with an injection of acid. There are headless bodies dangling from highway overpasses down there...film of shiny police cars with about 800 bullet holes in them from full-auto fire...

Illegal immigrants "self deport" as woes mount
Mon Dec 24, 2007 3:09am EST
By Tim Gaynor
PHOENIX (Reuters) - Mexican illegal immigrant Lindi sat down with her husband Marco Antonio in the weeks before Christmas to decide when to go back to Mexico.
She has spent three years working as a hairdresser in and around Phoenix, but now she figures it is time to go back to her hometown of Aguascalientes in central Mexico.
"The situation has got so tough that there don't seem to be many options left for us," Lindi, who asked for her last name not to be used, told Reuters.
The couple are among a growing number of illegal immigrants across the United States who are starting to pack their bags and move on as a crackdown on undocumented immigrants widens and the U.S. economy slows, turning a traditional Christmas trek home into a one-way trip...

Oh...in tonight's _60 Minutes_ report on the drug war in Mexico, CBS deliberately misled its audience that the weapons used by the criminals are coming from American civilian sources.
They showed film of full-automatic M16s, belt-fed machine guns, and 40mm grenade launchers with oodles of shiny, fresh ammo -- with a voice-over about the "Second Amendment" and "expiration of the assault weapons ban" -- as though such war materiel had ever been available down at Ed's Gun Store.
My guess is that it's all stuff "redirected" from Mexican army armories...
CBS is full of shit -- but, then, you knew that already.

My factual points remain. And to boot your very own argument is now going to be used against you.
The bulk of illegal immigrants also spend their life savings to get a chance to get into this country.
Next..................
Last week ICE raided a factory out west and rounded up approx 100 illegals. Next day 150 legal American citizens showed up and applied for jobs. I would like to see more of that.
