God bless our officer.
I was working the scene today and spoke to some of the officers friends. I understand he was an outstanding guy and my prayers go out to the family.
Incidents like this are tough on everyone, victims, families and first responders.
We all feel the loss even when we didn't know the person.
For those others on motorcycles out there, "be careful" it is not your riding it is the other vehicles that present the danger and now our roads are a major obstacle to safe motorcycle riding.
The pot holes are everywhere and could lead to untold disasters for you or any of your loved ones along with drivers who don't pay attn or don't follow the rules of the road.
God bless!

Because they citations were probably for minor traffic violations....Yes unfortunately we lost an officer, but I am sure that the driver of the pick-up said "i'm going to kill someone today in a crash", it is a VERY tragic accident...

RIP Officer. Condolences to his family at home and at work.

Sad reminder that the city of Chicago is not a place to ride motorcycles. Especially of Fridays and Saturdays (and Holidays). The other assholes out there don't see us. They're too busy on cellphones, trying to get out of work, driving drunk or just plain stuck on stupid to pay attention to bike riders. I lost a very close friend in a crash 13yrs ago and almost lost another one 2 years ago. Both in Chicago. I trailer my bike out to the suburban forest preserves or other country locations and ride. One of the best places I found is in Union, Wisconsin. Biker friendly. Be careful. There's more stupid people driving than smart riders.

Say a prayer for him as well- he is most definately feeling the pain of what happened.
