Shooting Oops
Hopefully, he won't get to make the same mistake again:
- A 20-year-old accused of gunning down three teens on Chicago's Southeast Side last week had been aiming at a rival gang member but missed, according to court documents released today.
Martin Ybarra instead allegedly struck and killed 15-year-old Raheem "Chiko" Washington as he stood nearby in the 8700 block of South Exchange, hitting him five times.
Then Ybarra jumped in a car and, leaning out the window, fired at the rival again -- and missed again, according to documents.
As it happens, Ybarra probably should have been behind bars already for a shooting nearly four years ago, but no one is talking about that much - everyone must hate to hear that the Cook County Court system is broken from the top down. Who has the specifics on that last case?

Start with the piece of shit garbage, not qualified to work at 7-11, liberal shit-head judges.
they just keep making more laws on top of old unenforced laws and the offenders get no time anyway.
the only people getting time these days are coppers.
the world is upside down.
Now, SCC, let us be realistic. This same mope will probably shoot someone else in the future. This incident occurred in Cook County...enough said.
Surely you jest scc.....The Cook County Judicial System is fouled?how can that be? They have judges that are Degreed in Law and can even write their own names down without help. No.......Not in Cook County. Cant be. Ill believe that when I believe Richie Daley is a crook too. Oh yeah sorry brain fart...he is.Didnt short shanks COME from the Cook County States Attorneys Office? Man they really must have low standards to allow that pudgy grease pot in. Only in Chicago Brother Only in Chicago.
You want the ASAs & the Presiding Judge to bear resonsibilty for his previous shooting case?
Ha, Thats good aint gonna Happen.
All of the victims are Maniac black latin stones from 82 and coles. Yes there is such a gang
It's not just Cook County, SCC. It's EVERYWHERE.
There's a revolving door for these criminals and they know how to work the system.
If the scumbags who took the lives of the PPD this past year (plus) had been given the maximum sentences and done their time for the crimes they had committed, the officers that the PPD mourns would be here today.
These judges are not God, although they like to think they are.
If it works in IL like it does in PA, where the judges are voted in - vote no the next time they're up for their seat.
If they're like MA where they're in for life (just found this out) - you're screwed.
I just can't understand how these judges can sleep at night sending these criminals back out on the streets to terrorize again and again. WTF is wrong with them?
He gunned down another gangbanger, a Stone I believe, on the next block over from this one. Had an eye witness who changed his story on the stand. Had a video-taped confession that the jury thought was scripted. Jury didn't particularly care for the big bad detectives (poor little 16 yr old child) and the Judge Gaughn publicly showed his disdain for the police on the stand with the jury present. Not Guilty! 3 more dead just 6 months later.
Isn't it just amazing? The system is so flawed that I often wonder why we do what we do? Is their any way to hold anyone in the judicial system accountable for letting this POS Latin King back out to commit 3 murders just a short time after he was previously arrested for Agg UUW?
i wonder if this crossed eyed fuck had a valid foid card?
DID THIS PRICK QUALIFY AT THE RANGE TO USE THIS WEAPON?
DID HE TAKE A POWER TEST!
OOOPPPS I FORGOT ONLY POLICE OFFICER CANT CARRY HEAVY WEAPONS IN THE STREETS!
J-FED MY FRIEND UR ON A ROLL!?!
MY SCRAP BOOK OF DEPARTMENT SCREW UP IS FILLING UP!
Don't worry this will never happen again once the mayor gets rid of all the guns.

they sound confused....
NO PROBABLE CAUSE!
How does one "accidentally" shoot a guy 5 times?
How strong is the current case against this poor misguided youth?
I read it is just eyewittness.
Those cases often fall apart.
Will he again go free ?
Stay tuned.
yea but he saved the tax payers more link card holders, and these 3 were not allowed too kill innocents!
OT - Somewhat
At the end of the comments from Fridays' post, "CORP COUNCIL WINS ONE", it was stated that anywhere from 2 to 20 lawsuits (depending on which post you believe) are filed against Chicago Police Officers EVERY WEEK !
I've never seen this site before, but having looked around a little, I'm stunned at the bullshit I saw there. It gives me a new respect for the Corp Council, and an even greater hatred for the scumbag lawyerhood.

Police Officers and Detectives jump through all the hoops set up by Felony Refusal and then on the off chance that charges are approved all the evidence is thrown out. Remember when video taped confessions were going to be the end all of end alls. Now they throw them out as being "staged".
Even if Public Defenders were ride-alongs in the squad cars and advised rights from the moment of arrest, judges and lawyers would find a way to throw out the arrest as unconstitutional.
One day common sense will prevail but probably not in our lifetimes. Things will have to get much worse.
I wonder if there is anyway to find the jurors from the last case and ask them how they feel about their decision now. Like most cases I have been involved in in Crook county the jury pool is usually already tainted with haters and White guilt liberals. I hope one of those jurors was somehow related to the new victims.
as long as they keep killing each other (useless gangbangin punks)who gives a shit let em all out kill each other raise the homocide rate in the city who the fuck cares
The family of the deceased should sue the judges who heard this shitbag's case before and put him back on the streets. If we can be held accountable why can't they?
No one in the court system gives a shit if it isn't a good victim, ASA's, judges, juries, etc. But when this one comes to trial it'll be the maximum sentence for sure. It should've been taken care of the first time this jagoff got caught shooting someone. Instead of the poor 16 year old that was "forced" to confess and the "Big Bad Detectives" who put that case on him, everyone will be screaming for his conviction. People suck.
How about 005 dist for not putting out a citywide flash after he high tailed it out of there! Unless it was a heavy bosses kid working desk crew.
he said he didnt mean to kill the victims.......no intent , no crime.....you must let him go
Yall be bogus! Po-po put a case on dat boy. He be heping his granmama
wit da laundry.

They must be from the south side of Latin America.
Well, when he gets out of the joint, maybe he will pop the real targets.
That is if he goes to the joint.
"There's no such thing as a bad boy."
Word on the street is that they did hit the intended targets but god forbid the news reports it since all dead were honor students! But what do I know, I'm a loley beat officer with my ear to the pavement.
Name the Judges that were involved in his previous cases, time to start holding them accountable. This political correctness crap is way out of control.
How many of us coppers have had Judges throw out a guilty verdicts one or two days later because the judge gets wind of a big lawsuit in the works.
If he was let go 6 months ago for that shooting, and if Judge Gaughn??, decided to blame the police, then maybe everyone should know about this case.
How about it FOP??
Judge Gaughn, you mean the guy that went on a rampage with a rifle downtown in the 18th District. It was covered up beacuse he was from a noteable family. Don't think it happened look into it. It was about 30 years ago.

That is because most of them live in gated communities that put Fort Knox to shame and don't give a damn about John Q. Public.
Dat Boy, he be's a goooood boy, he jus like ta play wit da AK once in awhile.....
I realize that most of the people that post in here are cops but what I am reading cannot be real. You mean this kid killed someone, had eyewitnesses and got off? What type of case was presented and was there some outrage at least from the family of the deceased?
Reminds me alot of Judge "let 'em go" Leo Holt. Biggest peice of s%*t to ever don a gown and gavel. It be interesting to know how many brothers he set free only to kill or rob again.
Gaughn even has relatives on the job. You'd think he'd understand... No. Just another dumb ass lawyer...liberal puke...can't wait to start watching him hug lil june bug after being harassed by the PoPo.
the other incident a latin dragon was killed. the witness was another dragon who is currently in county for taking part in the killing of a 10 year old girl on the next block. I hear the case against this kid for the triple homicide is a weak one. two witnesses who are blackstones good luck finding them once the trial starts.
