Ike wore a wire. For a year:
- Federal court documents unsealed Thursday as Ald. Isaac Carothers (29th) was indicted on corruption charges suggest Carothers himself has been cooperating with federal investigators and secretly taping other public officials.
The records included a motion filed in February to keep an earlier indictment against developer Calvin Boender sealed. Boender was indicted along with Carothers Thursday, accused of bribing Carothers to get him to support a zoning change at a large parcel in his ward.
But a motion to keep a February indictment against Boender under seal suggests Carothers himself wore a wire during a federal investigation into zoning matters.
The motion, which appears to describe the same conduct between Boender and Carothers outlined by federal authorities Thursday, only describes Boender as dealing with "Public Official A."
We guess that Ike won't be facing the full ninety-eight years he could get come sentencing. If recent history is any indication, the Feds will settle on 3 years, which is truly sad. Ninety-eight years would open up a lot more cans of worms. And slam shut a whole lot of sphincters.

BOMBSHELL is right! I have thoroughly enjoyed thinking about the possible destruction of the Daley Crime Family since hearing about Ike, but 2 things come to mind.
1) Could R. M. Daley be bullet-proof because he is an informant and/or
2) Could he be way smarter than he sounds and looks and we give him credit?
If so, his orders, directions and instructions must be communicated via multiple degrees of seperation and via avenues and conduits chosen for specific operations with no one avenue or conduit being chosen for multiple missions.
Never letting the right hand, left hand, right foot and left foot know what any of the other three are doing gives him insulation and plausible deniability and a bullet-proof vest, but still, after 30 years of simultaneously scheming, juggling, gyrating a hula-hoop around his hips, while seperately spinning dinner plates on the end of 6' wooden dowel rods attached to the floor on the other end and balancing a beach ball on the end of his nose while standing on one foot, there has to be a trail, or multiple trails that can be unraveled.
The trail, or trails, might not be discernible to the human eye, but the right man, or woman, with the right motivation, perserverance, tenacity, and enough integrity not to be bought, (David Hoffman?) might be able to give the Daley Crime Family the death knell it deserves.
I can hope and I refuse to feel sad for RMD because of Maggie's health or his son Kevin or the other son being a fuck-up and a criminal. RMD and his strangle hold on city government have got to go by either him going to jail, or being defeated at the polls or a visit from the grabber, but he has to go.
This Pig belongs in prison. You try and get away with what he has. I tried asking him for a favor once, guess I didn't offer money so thats why he wouldn't even speak to me. Now I get the last laugh, three years in a cell with Bubba is better than nothing.
The fact that Aldercreature Carothers is involved in such a complex deal leads me to question who else is involved. Dont know if he has the mental capability to put this together on his own.

Federal law-enforcement authorities are probing the controversial investment of city employee pension fund dollars in a real estate firm involving Mayor Richard Daley's nephew, Robert Vanecko.
A federal grand jury issued a subpoena Wednesday to the police pension fund, according to records obtained today by the Tribune.
Prosecutors with U.S. Atty. Patrick Fitzgerald's office are demanding fund officials turn over documents regarding their dealings with DV Urban Realty, which includes Vanecko and longtime Daley ally Allison Davis. The police fund's board voted in 2006 to invest $15 million in DV Urban, part of a $68 million deal that also involved other local government pension funds.

Today while working 23XX we received several messages, via PDT, regarding a person/vehicle wanted for a homicide that took place in the 1100 BLK S. Independence BLVD. I decided to run the license plate that was given in the "All Call." To my suprise nothing, no Investigative Alert, no LEADS or NCIC hit. My question is this, if they have enough information to send out an "All Call Message," why not some type of officer safety notice or "wanted" attached to the license plate. What if a suburban department stops this person/vehicle? No information. I realize that we should use caution and tactical advantage in all stops, but the additional information would be extremely valuable. Maybe a felony stop or additional cars to assist in the traffic stop. Thanks for the good work. Stay safe.
Daley is an informant , nothing will happen to him. Everyone around him is vulnerable but him. I have stated this before. Wake up, he is a stoolie and the Feds are getting more than their quota. He is playing them just as a CI who works with narcotics. The CI is still in the game and all around him are vulnerable. The Feds look great, great numbers, great press.

Off-duty NYPD rookie MOS Omar Edwards, 25, was shot and killed in a tragic "friendly fire" incident in East Harlem last night.
Unbeknownst to responding 25th Pct. Anti-Crime officers, the black man in street clothes and drawn pistol who was chasing a suspect was an off-duty MOS who just got off duty. Officer Edwards was pronounced DOA at Harlem Hospital.

That would require a detective who knows how to put the plate into LEADS and NCIC. That kind of shit can easily get someone very dead. The info needs to into the computer first so anyone stopping that vehicle knows what they are up against.
This blog shouldn't be the source of supervisory detective guidance.
