Safety Warning
From the comments:
- Dear SCC, just want to give a heads up to Area Two guys, especially in 005. Last nite in the 005th district two identical fully loaded desert eagle .44 cal handguns were recovered in the waistbands of bad guys in completely separate incidents and gun desk let us know both have been stolen from the same place ( what are the odds?). My guess is more than two are still out there. Please give the guys a heads up.
No surprise a batch of guns may have gone missing. We still remember the story of a rail car on the west side being hit up for a load of rifles. The only saving grace was a lack of available ammunition to match the guns. There are other stories. Watch yourselves.

Back in the early 1980's, I was covering a crime in Alsip, IL. While talking to the police officers, another one walked into the station and announced a rail car was broken into in Robbins, IL and a load of Uzi's disapeared into the night.
I have no idea what ever hapened to those Uzi's.
last night banger on bander, shot in chest with deer shotgun round
Good thing we can't chase.
GUNS ARE BANNED IN CHICAGO CITIZENS!
Sincerely,
King Dick Daley

remember that too, it was something like fifty 50. cal rifles. unfortunately for dude they were black powder muzzleloaders!!!!!
That's a mighty big gun to tuck in a waistband.
Good luck finding any ammo.
wait... I thought handguns were illegal in the city.. what gives?
I am cracking up trying to imagine a gangbanger with a muzzleloader.
Not as "point-n-click" as what they're used to.
Who cares? I could see if the pistol was the .50 cal. Just because it is a Desert Eagle doesn't grant it special powers. I could even see mentioning it if was one of the gold dipped DE's.
Please be safe out there.
Well, the good news is those DEs will stovepipe like crazy after a single shot. So, they're not that dangerous!
they said 15 were stolen from an armoury in d.c. 2 have been recovered.my guess they are all in chicago A/2. STAY SAFE OUT THERE
Years ago in 024 a store must have gotten hit for binoculars. Every M/1 Senn High School gang kid and purse-snatcher that hung around underneath the Thorndale "L" was examining passers-by with a pair of 7 x 30s. Utterly weird.
Like anything else they get into, it only lasted a couple of days. Lost them, broke them, sold them for a dolla, hit someone with them and snapped them in half, etc.
OT but still officer safety:
last night while driving home through Mt. Greenwood I saw a white Chevy Suburban on 105th and Drake with a car pulled over. The white suburban was an older model, had regular Illinois plates, and had a small flashing light in the dash. The "officer" that was standing next to the car pulled over did not appear to have a vest on or a duty belt and also appeared to be alone. He had a badge around his next on a chain but I was not able to make out how many points were on it. He also has his gun tucked in the front of his waist band. I pulled over about a block ahead of the stop and called 022 to see if they had an unmarked suburban on the streets but the officer on the desk said she couldn't answer that question. I advised her to have a marked car swing by there and she said she would but by the time I went around the block to get a better look the cars were gone.
Anyone know if there is an unmarked suburban out there? or is this a possible impersonator? I already told my family not to pull over for it if they try to stop them... just to drive to 022.
anyone know?

DE has (2) side by side recoil springs, rotary bolt operation similiar to M4, and a gas system that bleeds off gases and reduces recoil . If it doesn't jam, that damn thing can put rounds on target and punch through vehicles, cover, etc. Bangers have no clue what ammmo works in these things. Box of 20 rounds, about $40.
How do they keep a Desert Eagle tucked into their droopy drawers?? Inquiring minds want to know.
This morning (Tuesday) a .357 marked casing was recovered at a shooting scene. The strange thing is that this .357 (H&P)casing had the neck sized down. Perhaps for chambering into a semi-auto?
Secondly: The base-rim of the casing was the same diameter as the lower part of the casing unlike that of a revolver cartridge that has a broader base-rim to keep the cartridge from sliding into the cylinder. heads up, bros! be careful out there.
Belive in the power of The All Mighty Pygmy KIng Richard !! For by HIS Royal Decree, any unregistered handguns within his fifedome doth not exist an varily be incapable of rendering harm to any who reside in the land of concrete planters and trees. They were rendered useless when he had his wizards place the great runes upon the land on the "island that lay northerly"
11:01,
Sounds like you're describing a .357 SIG cartridge casing. Not a popular cartridge, but a fairly new cartridge. All of the major brands of pistol makers are building pistols that accept these, not just Sig.
Time to do some reading, and get to the range.

What you're referring to is a 357sig round. I'd rather not post as to the efficiency or deficiency of the round, but ask around or do some research. Where was it found?
How can you keep this kind of gun in your baggy around the ass pants????

So many people walking around clutching their genitalia/holding their size 66 pants up with one hand and talking on a cell phone with the other you'd never know it until it was too late...
"Bangers have no clue what ammo works in these things..."

Arrest in the jets for a bunch of guns, long guns and handguns, "one from here, one from there" -- and all the different ammo they had was dumped together as loose rounds into a gym bag. I guess you'd kind of feel around for something that might fit...
If you're a reloader who can read a micrometer, the utterly mindless quality will give ya nightmares...
