If not, how does this effect the rest of US, the working CPD you ask? Well, it means that you and I, the beat copper, the rapid response copper, you know the guy or gal who paid our dues, who did our time, well it means that we will be shut out. He is, however, serving their wants, which is a completely different thing from their needs.
Since you present yourself as one who knows, please enumerate as many of the 'needs' you believe this 'shepherd' of his 'flock' is 'serving'.
i won't bother to enumerate his deeds here because that isn't the issue and i am not a member of his congregation. and that really isn't the point. for those who choose to attend St. Sabina and those who live in the surrounding community they feel that a need is being met with his presence and leadership. it doesn't matter what the rest of us think of his methods. the pews are packed every sunday and his congregation is very active in the church and community. that is why he remains there.

i am not one who claims to be "one who knows". i have heard him speak to the issues of the day on a few occasions. i have friends who attend the church and they have children who have graduated from the elementary school. they have nothing but praise for him. when he speaks, he is speaking to those who believe as he does, those who are living under those particular conditions. his message isn't directed to me or you or perhaps to most of the bloggers here. but he reaches those he intended his message for. and that is what really matters. when that changes, he will move on and there will be someone else in that pulpit.

what you still don't get is that, it doesn't matter outside the walls of St. Sabina what we think. i don't necessarily agree with all of his methods but we are all free to worship as we choose. and i know those who worship there. and the congregation is large, they agree with his methodology, strongly. simply agree to disagree. there is freedom of religion even when his demonstation of catholism is vastly different than your own practice and/or church.
