One Goal Gets Closer

What a game. What a series. What a playoff run this is turning out to be.

Halfway to the unimaginable after missing the playoffs for years. Detroit or Anaheim? The regular season record was better against the Ducks, but the Hawks also closed out the season with back-to-back wins against Detroit. And of course, if you're any kind of hockey fan, it's a Detroit series you're wishing for. Who better to test you than the defending champs?

A great big thanks to Rocky Wirtz for making hockey mean something again in Chicago.

Only 8 more wins to go for the Cup!

I have a feeling that there's going to be more posts then usual on this subject. All of a sudden, everybody's a Blackhawks fan these days. Most of these "Johnny-Come Lately's" don't even have a clue who the players are on this team.

Oh well, as a true fan I'm glad this team is finally getting the attention they deserve. Even "The Score" radio station is finally jumping on board and talking Blackhawks hockey instead of re-hashing the same old, same old about our pathetic Sox and Cubs.

GO HAWKS!!!!

They'll be together for years. Patrick Kane said after the first round of the playoffs that they are so young and inexperienced that they don't realize they're not supposed to be winning like this.

Maybe they are so young and inexperienced that they won't realize they are supposed to move on as multi-millionaires to other teams!

I would like to see the Ducks win in about three overtimes tonight. In game 7, no strong preference other than about 5 overtime periods. How many readers of this board are old enough to remember back to around 1970 when the Hawks were the most popular sports team in this town - not the Bears, the expansion Bulls or either of the baseball teams.

the hawks have a good chance at beating either detroit or anaheim. the hawks just will not be denied this year. hopefully khabby does not get hurt because huet has not played and he will get smoked if he has to come in. if the hawks have to go to the "joe" for the first two they will definitely have to take one of them if they hope to beat the red wings.

Why don't we grow "Contract Beards" like hockey players grow Play-off Beards? Maybe a whole police force sporting ZZ-Top like beards to their knees might be just the visual Shortshanks needs to get his ass in gear and finalize the contract.

The best thing to happen to the NHL in years is the major resurgence of an original six franchise here in Chicago.

Not to be a conspiracy theorist or anything, but wouldn't the entire NHL benefit from the Hawks going deep into the playoffs and even winning the Cup this year ? Hmmmmm?

Amazingly, on Tues. I was able to get tickets on the glass on ticketmaster for the last home game of the conference series and the last home game for the cup, 13th row.

Lord I hope they prevail and the games go that deep in to the series.

Was fortunate to go to the last regular season game that didn't mean anything but it was a GREAT time.

Lots of players after the game on Racine.

Go Hawks!!!
