The FOP site still lists 30 as the number of openings in 003.
A discrete phone call to Personnel (which was closed over the weekend) also says 30 is the correct number.
Did anyone see an AdminFax correction?
We're still in awe of the complete disconnect of the 5th floor of HQ with anything on the ground that might hint at a tiny little problem over by the 003 District. We shouldn't be, but we are.

003 and 021 are going to merge and become a super district. The same is going to happen on the north side in the fall. Let's see who will be the new boss in the super district.

If j-pud doesn't see the problem in 003 then that's just another indication of his lack of ability to manage this department. But lets be real....If anyone honestly thinks that he is running this department they are truly brain dead. Any competant boss would have flushed burger queen down the toilet a long time ago. Hey you think there is a problem in 003??? How about 004, 006, 005, ah shit all of Area 2. Why the hell would you want to work there? The neighborhood sucks, the bosses are either imcompetent or assholes, not one of them takes care of the working police.
We have a bunch of high ranking leaders in Area 2 that pretend like nothing is wrong down there, they refuse to stand up for their people, they let the mutant preachers, community activists, and aldermen get away with whatever they want.
Why can't we call Area 2 what it really is? Its a bunch of uneducated, poor, police hating people who use the vast majority of police resources but pay the least amount of taxes and don't even appreciate the services the city provides to them (with the exception of a few neighborhoods).
ANYONE WHO IS ASSIGNED OR DETAILED TO A/2 AND DOES ANYTHING BUT THE VERY BARE MINIMUM IS NUTS!!! Let JPUD, Jimmy Jackson, Dana Alexander, Ray Hamilton and the Policy Group fight crime in A/2 because I sure am done.

Nope it is DEFINITELY 30. My chick does some work with the personnel team and she verified this for me because I couldn't believe it when I saw it. That's almost like 003 is missing an entire watch of people.

I heard very recently that beat cars across the city are not being manned. As in down cars. For years that was strictly forbidden, WC's must man all primary beat cars. Now many just don't have the manpower to put all primary beat cars up if one or two PO's throw a shoe. Sometimes they don't even have to have officers call in sick, they are just way short.
The last ruckus about this was done by, guess who, Pam Zeckman, over 20 years ago. She did an expose' on downed beat cars across the city.
The City acted quickly. They redrew the beat boundaries to make the beats larger and then declared that all beats were manned.

Time to do it again Pam. Primary beat cars are routinely being downed again. WC's are lying. Recently in 016 and 019 beat cars were down and a wagon was down. No wagon up at all.

It occurred to me, about J-Fed telling the world that we have 13,500 sworn police officers. Everyone in the department with more than then two weeks on the street, so that does not include Weis had to bit their tough or laugh out loud when they heard him say that.
Then the question was asked, we all know that that is a bald faced lie or like Hitler in 1945 he is imagining troops which do not exist. So how many sworn police officers do we really have and how do we find out.

Now on any payday, usually the 1st and 16th of each month, they collect a pension contribution from the check of each sworn member of the department of any rank. With a few exceptions, like J-Fed himself, his FBI clout buddies, maybe a civilian Director or two, those on unpaid leaves or suspensions, they would have to know, how many sworn officers are on the payroll on a particular day. Burger King is going to open up across the street from the 3rd District. During lunch hour hour, Burger King will be fully manned. However, during off-peak hours, Burger King employees will go out on patrol for "problem solving".
The 30 left because they knew Burger Queen had it covered. They can safely operate without those personnel. Burger Queen has catering trucks loaded with Whoppers to quell any situation. BQ is one tough rough & ready motha-----. No common sense, but rough & ready to deliver it "your way" . !!!!!!!!

Is that report still being done? The watches have not been filling out the "Watch complement and Field Assignment Report" for several years now.
