Dude, Where's My Pflag?
- The American flag that activist priest Father Michael Pfleger was flying upside down to protest violence against children has been cut down - and stolen.
Father Michael Pfleger says about noon, someone cut down the American flag, which had been flying upside down this week outside St. Sabina Church 1210 W. 78th Pl., on the South S ide.
Pfleger says he's surprised that someone would go that far - but he says some people had already driven by and expressed their outrage over his decision to fly the flag upside down as a protest against the killing of children.
More than likely, a member of Pfleger's own community, many of whom served with honor and distinction in our Armed Forces over the years, and grant the flag quite a bit more respect that he does. He really has no clue.
Anyway, if Pfleger's going to continue espousing political views, he ought to be a full participant in the political process and start paying taxes.

Something needs to be done about this asshole. I'm sorry, he may be a priest but I have zero respect for this guy. I am a Catholic who goes to church fairly regularly, I send my kids to Catholic school, and I'm fed up with the fact that he does what he wants and the Catholic church lets him get away with it. I'd love to start some petition at parishes across Chicago stating if he is not removed by a certain date donations will cease. Do you think something might be done when the collection baskets come back extremely light a few weeks in a row?

A million? I can think of just five or six that would have worked twenty years ago. How about preaching the gospel. How about telling his congregation about responsibility and truthfulness. How about telling his congregation to stand up to the bangers and drive them out of the neighborhood. Why didn't HE think of this?

I think I'll use a little symbolism myself. Just like Martin Luther, I'm going to nail a letter on his church door. My complaints will start with:
1. You "Talk black" when you are not black.
2. Where's the distress sign for the victims of sexual abuse by your fellow priests?
3. Why does the church allow you to be a political activist and not pay taxes?
4. Why don't you address the issues of black on black violence, the lack of responsibility of parents for their children and the breeding of children the parent can't afford?
