Officer Cole Needs Help

Via CFD Lt. Jim McMahon (retired):
  • Doctor said cards are needed for visual help. A note, inspirational card, balloon anything like that Jim. Blessings to all of you. Mrs. Cole (Denzey's mother).

    Please send to:
    P.O. Densey Cole II
RML Specialty Hospital 5601 S. County Line Road
    Hinsdale, IL 60521
It only take a few minutes of time, a trip to the card store and a stamp.

Its sad that there is not one comment on this post. But when some officer steps on his dick everyone is on here crtiticizing him and saying what an idiot he is. Here is a good officer that would literally give you the shirt off of his back and hopefully will not be forgotten. I will be visiting him very soon in the hospital and im hoping to see bags of mail and cards. If not I will be back on here bitching. And yes I have already mailed my card and well wishes.

I will ditto the comment about praying for Densey Cole. Let me say that Densey would give the shirt off his back to someone who needed it, he is a great police officer, and a great individual.
He has an extremely long and difficult road before him, no matter what the final outcome of his injuries is. Each day is a struggle, some are good days, some are bad days. He needs all your thoughts and prayers, cards, letters, and visits too...
Anything you can do to help the situation is truly appreciated.
Densey won't be at RML for too long, he will move to another rehab facility when RML accomplishes their part of his treatment.

Everyone is not aware of who Officer Cole is and that might be part of the problem. Officer Cole is the officer who was hurt very badly in an on-duty traffic accident on the south side, where shitheads moved his body in order to rob and disarm him. Get your cards out to him folks. Its the very least we can do.

I've been on IOD for a while and out of the loop with work stuff. Haven't read the blog in ages (sorry SCC!). Can someone please fill me in on what happened to Officer Cole? I would like to send a card, and will regardless, but am curious about what happened.

As posted on another Blog:

The Wife came up with a Great idea-

Ask anyone involved in a summer camp as a volunteer with kids-park/school/church, if they are looking for a project to do,finger paint posters, cards, popsicle art, pipe cleaner people.. whatever arts and crafts project that they do now....send it to Densey.

From what I understand, he needs this visual stimuli..

Anyone worried about getting the stuff to him, bring it up to 022 and it will get to him. Also I see Lt. Jim Valoy's wife works there, and you can reach him via department e-mail per his post 24JUN 1432Hrs.

Thanks,
Revolver Police

Dear scc:
No posts means we don't care? C'mon guys, we shouldn't be beating each other up like this. I don't think that it was due to lack of priorities that caused the pause in posting on this subject. I am not sure that comments were even needed. Densey is fighting for his life because of what we do everyday, but we never really think of it until it happens. It's a difficult thing to think about and even harder to talk about and I just think some of us fear what could happen to us when faced with another officer that needs help. There are problems with the department far and wide, but I refuse to believe that any police officer on this department or any other, would not have a fellow police officer's well being at the top of their list. It's just a very difficult thing to face sometimes on this job, reality bites right? I know we all care and the family, being all police, also knows we care. The men and women of the CPD have been and will always be able to be counted on in an officer's time of need, we all know that. That is one thing that they cannot and will not take from us. I am sending a card and a bunch of balloons along with a lot of other officers, because we care.Don't need no stinkin post to convey that message!

I don’t know the Cole family, am not in law enforcement and actually don’t even live in Chicago anymore but Officer Cole and his family have been very much in my prayers for the last month. I mailed a card for him this morning. Please keep us posted if we should continue to send cards or if there is anything else that would help the Officer and his family.

I hope the rest of you Officers stay safe this summer.

Okay, SCC, just wrote out my card to PO Cole. Stamp and all. I'll send it out tomorrow. I'd go see him, but I would feel like I was intruding being that I do not know him personally. If he needs anything else or if he wants random PO's to drop by, let us know. I'll go.
Thanks
