Attempted Murder of Police

A sergeant vigorously and lawfully defended himself and his officers from an assailant who attempted to kill them all with a motor vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed in reverse following an undercover drug buy in the Gage Park neighborhood. Now the BreakingNews version:
  • A drug suspect was shot by police when he tried to run over a district sergeant and other officers following an undercover drug buy from the suspect's car late Wednesday in the city's Gage Park neighborhood, police said.

Although a Fire Department spokesman said the man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition, police said his injuries didn't appear life-threatening.

Details of the man's age and injuries were not being released by police this morning.
We like our version better.

One officer was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to recover. Best wishes for a speedy return.

1013's Job at approx 03:00. Zone 10dispatcher is sleeping and doesn't dispatch a 10-1 for 7 minutes. A 10-1 is an immediate dispatch. 7 minutes is not immediately. Nice job dispatcher. Glad the officer didn't get killed due to your innatention to duty. This guy should be fired. I bet the city doesn't even reprimand him. Aren't the 911 supervisors supposed to monitor these dispatchers so that this doesn't happen?

And you think nobody are twisting the real news? The media is afraid of the real news. It may scare people into thinking that there is order "out there" If the real news were to really be told, I think people would demand more police officers on the streets and then they would feel more comfortable. But we all know reality. This ain't gonna happen anytime soon. So the media will continue to twist words and with hold the real stories and people will carry on like nothing is happening. Well, until it happens to them. Ah....the first amendment, ain't it grand?

Officials said two people were shot outside the WLS-Ch. 7 studios near State Street and Randolph Avenue.

A Chicago police officer was shot but was the bullet was blocked by the officers bullet-proof vest. Another person was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital after being shot, Chicago fire department officials said.

Chicago Police News Affairs officer Laura Kubiak said calls of a shooting on the busy Loop street came in at 12:49 p.m. and the conditions of any victims were not available.

Car full of bangers (possibly Latin Kings) followed a PO home last night, pulled up next to him and opened up fire. Thank God that they missed (two inches from PO's head) and the PO was able to return fire. If it is true that it took 10 minutes for OEMC to dispatch this, someone needs to be fired. the offenders escaped and no has been able to locate them or the shot up vehicle. This was not in the paper or on the news, but there needs to be more exposure. That is very bold of the bangers. Everyone needs to be aware of their surroundings. It is unknown if they targeted the PO or if it was just random.

Your probably speaking of the Swat Lt that got promoted way beyond his abilities and is now screwing up badly. Definite shakman violation. Supposedly he is getting moved soon. They screwed up and now have to bury him somewhere til the storm clears.

Would that dispatcher happen to be Mumble Mouth Melton?
The one who gives you a job and then says, "Ya noe what.. disregard that" gives it to another car then disregards them, tells them to take something else instead and gives it back to you.

Glad to hear the Sgt. and other officers are ok. an officer was runned over by assailant trying to escape and has never fully recovered and lives each day with physical pain from his injuries.

God's Speed to the officer that was accidentally shot in the chest and I hope your partner is not ridden with guilt because he did what was right. good job.

To the officer involved in the shooting on Pulaski. The bullet missing your head by 2 inches sends chills down my spine. I know you personally and you are an awesome copper and a helluva guy. God bless and I hope they catch them pendejos.

Yes the incident of the ODPO is seperate from the shooting in 008. The ODPO who was shot at was in 010and the lazy dispatcher was sleeping and didn't give out the job because HE wasn't paying attention. Lazy useless piece of trash shouldn't be a dispatcher. Hell he's not even qualified to be the guy who walks behind the horses and picks up their sh**. He should be fired. The 2 dispatchers from Durkin park incident took 30 days, he should take longer. 911 supervisors should all be disciplined also. I hear there's a giant screen on the wall that shows priority jobs that aren't dispatched. Where were the supervisors when this happened. I see all this being swept under the rug. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

Sarge has an itchy trigger finger...he shot a pitbull in 8 couple weeks ago!!! Go get em' Sgt.

a: the dog was in a known drug area and was observed committing a drug sale transaction(paw to paw sale)
b: the dog refused orders to disburse
c: the dog became verbally abusive
d: the dog was ordered to stop
SEVERAL TIMES.
e: the dog actively and aggressively resisted the Good Sgt's attempt at effecting arrest.
f: the dog attempted to flea(get it?) the scene holding his right side.when chased by the Good Sgt,the dog stopped, turned in the direction of the Good Sgt holding a "shiny object" in his left paw. The Sgt fearing for his life fired several times at the offender striking him once. All notifications made.End.

However, several community dog leaders are staging a poop in protest in the area immediately surrounding the crime scene. Officers are advised to excersize EXTREME caution when walking in this area. Loevy and Loevy has contacted the dogs family and it is expected that a suit is forthcoming.FOP could not be reached for comment (no surprise there)
