Game Day

The tune ups continue.

As someone pointed out, if you only count the time the first string played, the Bears actually won the first game 3-0. In any case, nothing counts for a while yet. But we'd like to see a few big plays that would make everyone look forward to the upcoming season. It seems the baseball teams are struggling just to break even. We'd hate to see an 8-and-8 here.

it seems to me hanie always looks great when he plays, but he's always in there against 2nd, 3rd stringers. why didn't they give him time at the end of last season when we weren't going anywhere and knew it?

favre threw four passes last night and got more coverage than anything else going on in the sports world, even d.rose---- i am a life long packers hater and i also hate the vikings almost as bad, but the favre guy is a gamer--- our secondary looks like a swiss cheese and this guy will pick us to pieces when he comes here or we go there.....

suntimes and tribune will report how bad the bears are and will praise favre for the one completion for 4 yards. It's only pre-season ladies.

Why don't they teach driver's education, and sex education on the same day in Wisc?

It's too hard on the cow.

Favre was addicted to pain pills and women from Green Bay.

I guess I understand the pills.

What makes Green Bay packer women look more attractive?

Lineman style face masks.

Fuck Favre. That drunken, drugged up hillbilly excuse for an N.F.L. quarterback.

He could easily fire off 10 lasers in a row. Too bad that 7 of those passes are to the other team.

When he comes to Chicago in his nice new VIKINGS uniform, he better bring his tractor with him.

If he doesn't cry, quit the team, retire, cry some more, join a new team, quit, retire, cry, go back with the Pack, get cut, cry, retire, join another team, take a bottle of pills, get drunk, have sex with his "special" pig he calls "my own little driver", retire.

The bears will be mediocre this year... which is FINE. They improved the most important position, QB, which will attract free agent WR next year. NEXT YEAR is our year...for real!

the 97 million dollar man will make the bears secondary look like a high school team--- stop with the peanut tillman bs, he sucks to--- the bears have a shitty o line and no quality receivers outside of bennett--- hester has only proven that he is good at returning punts.... the olsen kid shows promise if he can stay out of the training room every week---- bears will be lucky to crack 500 this year---- but the beer will be flowing as usual------

This is the year, I feel it! Lets hope the rest of the NFL even bothers to show up for their games knowing they have little chance to win.

It's halftime, and the Bears look like a new team compared to last week.

17-3 and the 3 was due to a fumble in their own end.

Nearly 300 yards offense in the 1st half!

I must admit to being cautiously optimistic about the upcoming season.

Preseason does not give a very good preview of what is to come. Having said that, it looks as if Cutler is for real and so is his backup.

Its just a matter of time before Hester braks one of those short passes they keep tossing his way.

Why isn't spiking the ball to kill the clock, intentional grounding?

Repeat after me: "Jay is our quarterback".

Caleb Hanie has the better cool QB name, though.

Because intentional grounding is to avoid a sack/loss.
