Those goofs in 010 tie up the air constantly with nonsense, asking for descriptions for an incident 10-15 times, pay attention to the fucking radio and you won't have to ask so many times. Interesting? Are you soft? It is about as relevant to my life as a beat officer as reading the tabloids to see what Brad and Angelina are doing lately.
It is not interesting to me as I don't give a shit which incompetent clout suckhole gets to wear a hat with scrambled eggs on the visor and pretends to be a leader.
There are true leaders and true warriors on this job but they are not in command positions and are not likely to be promoted any time soon. Political considerations take the few true leaders out of the running fairly quickly.
The end for me is but a few short years away, it can't come quickly enough. I have zero faith in our leadership and I am proved right time after time.

As stated at the meeting, the City "seems" to be favoring the 4 on 2 off schedule. This is not set in stone. However, here is a scenario given: The City favors 4-2. We vote against it. It goes to arbitrator. The City has management labor rights and since they favor one schedule over others it gives them weight with arbitrator. If the City was against all the pilot schedules we might have an edge. The City is using medical days off, arrest activity and other stuff as their criteria to judge which schedule is best for them.

I agree with the zone 10 comment. Then again when you got beat 1120 Sgt AZ flappin his d*ck suckers constantly logging more radio time than Man-cow muller, 011 doesnt look that great either. If he used his computer he could find his sector cars without asking for them 10 times a day or interrupting foot/car chases with his BS. If he was half way decent they might even come when he calls.
Riccio is a great guy, but what are all the management p/o's on 2nd watch gonna do now that hes gone, how about the 8 po's who were assigned to midnites but worked a day burglary car, oh well maybe all 50 of u coppers can follow him again to area 4, or is that too scary for you?

Smart move keeping Elmer in 021, I give them credit for that. He is well liked, competent and has been running it for quite a while already. 021 looked good at the last CAR meeting and it showed that Elmer can do the job. 021 is lucky to have him as a commander. Now all they need is to get the olympics to keep from closing. As for some of the other picks, well clout rules as always.

McNaughton worked for Aunt Bea as a LT. at 35th Street and SUCKED up to her well. He only has 17 years on the job.
He made Captain a few months ago and went to the 015th District – 3rd Watch. 015 is THE SMALLEST district in the city and was 2nd in the department in arrest activity.
He immediately started bitching because officers were only coming in with 20 or so contact cards a night. He was not happy about that.

He is a real stand up boss, works his ass off with us (he is on the street with us) and does whatever he can for all of us, not just the blacks so keep that racist bullshit to yourself moron! I know for a fact that his merit pick came from here and he has helped at least 4 of the guys I work with try and get into other units. 2 of them were successful! If he does leave, any district will be much better off with him and you can take that to the bank.

That Lt has NEVER been the police (under this administration that is qualification enough). When he was a PO assigned to the detective division he handed out paper and pens. When he was assigned to a district as a Sgt. he could not be bothered to talk to his troops. As a Lt he turned down the tact Lt in 003, because it was too much work. Don't expect to see the Lt after 6p, he is too busy planning his gala events. Don't be fooled by all of the ribbons on his uniform, he is not a "Go Getter"

It does not matter who gets promoted to what unit because once they get the GOLD STAR, they forget how they got there and who helped them along the way.
Whatever happened to bosses speaking up for the guys who busted their asses for them? When a beef comes in and its against a working copper by a gang banging-drug-dealing known mut, that boss should stand up and say no way-those are my guys....
Guess those types of bosses are gone. The kind that would go to: Martin, Hillard, Cline, and say look: these guys bust their tails for the department, they deserve the benefit of the doubt.
The new breed just lets their guys go down. Does no one have the balls to stand up to the Sup and defend their people?
Look at the number of Police Board cases stacking up for 09. This is indicative of no one having the back-bone to speak up.

Don't knock that shift. In the long run, you get more days off without getting burned out. More chance of OT in court on your RDO and you can burn a slip every 6 weeks. Its not going to kill you. Before you know it you are off again. I really like that schedule.

Couldn't agree more. I visit zone 10 alot, and yes 1120 is a total mental case, but 010 is like a district of PPOs. Lots of useless chatter with very little policing done. Look at the north end of 010, you will never see a car with the first two numbers starting with 10 on the beat tag. Bunch of scared pretenders. Don't get me wrong there are some damn good coppers in 010, but most are just driving in circles trying to avoid work. Only district in the city where the someone calls a 10-1 and no one goes to jail! How the hell does that happen. And yes the constant calls for retreat when the animal acts up. We, the Chicago Police do not back down to anyone, period. You do that and you may as well write of the block because you just lost it. As for 1023 I don't have to tell anything to his face because he never had the intention of being the police, he knows he's not the police and he's good with it because of the 1st and 15th of every month.
