Memorial Vandals Continuance
New court date is 23 September at Branch 42-2 (0900 Call) at Belmont and Western.
Over 70 cops and CPMF members and concerned friends showed up at Court last week. When the case was called, the defendants nearly shit a brick.
We're going to need the same or better in just over a week. If you have an appearance scheduled, stick around. If you finish your shift and aren't going to sleep right away, stop by. If you're retired and have a free moment, welcome one and all.
Last appearance included a couple of exempts. How about someone call the Chaplains to lend a bit of gravitas to the assembly? Maybe a few retired Superintendents who oversaw the burial of more than a few Officers named on the Wall?

Thanks for posting this SCC. Yes, I will be there AGAIN.and will STAND again.
I have sent messages to the following Districts(or relayed the date to P.O.'s in that District.
007,008.009,011,020,012,014,and of course 019.I will do what I can when Im working to get to the Officers in 018 near where Im working.
Last turn out was good....this one needs to be better. Hopefully Ill run into some old cadre again as its always good to catch up with old friends.

I KNOW HE IS THE GREATEST POLICEMAN TO HAVE LIVED BUT COME ON EVEN THE MARQUETTE 10 DID'NT GET THAT MUCH CASH!
These are artists, not gangbangers. They are expressing their ability with paint. Perhaps the police should pay for the fine artwork done there. I've seen businesses pay for this type of art on the sides of the buildings.
Their lawyer/PD no doubt is using the age old practice of getting continuances to "wear down" the victims resolve to make numerous appearances in court.
Time to show them that we are not just another "victim"!
Double the number of supporters for each continuance.
The Court and the public must be reminded that WE are not to be fucked with and will not roll over.

Hey, SCC. I'm putting this here because there were other vandals at the Memorial this weekend after the U2 concert. People were using the memorial as their own personal urinal. There was an officer out there that I saw writing tickets. Don't know if there were more, or if he was the only one assigned over there; we couldn't tell. With the number of people pissing over there, he could've used some backup, if he was the only one. It was absolutely disgusting. We commented (loudly) to those doing it and told them to stop, but of course they don't listen.
If anyone gets a cleanup crew together, we'll be happy to volunteer.

Is it in uniform or our of as a guest to the courtroom?
Every commander in the dept shouldve been there. Hope to see them there next time

Thanks for supporting us in this matter. I think that SCC has to "be a stranger"---kinda like the Lone Ranger or the Green Hornet

A big fy to the lawyer who keeps up the continuances. Nice ploy jo, but it ain't gonna work.
If you guys can ever get your membership to understand that you are very strong when you stick together.
The courts wont pull much BS with too many witnesses in the Memorial tagging case.
The same would be true if the men and women in blue stuck together in dealings with the city & mayor Daley.
When you all join together you will be all WINNERS.
Uniform or Plain. Doesn't matter. Just be there at 0900 on the 23rd at Br.42 at Belmont & Western. The 8th and 9th Court advocates each had 6-9 people. And Bill Kugelman rep'd the CFD and his son whos killer has been freed for the last few years.
When the mopes are called everyone stand and it sure has an impact.

I have a friend whose name is on that wall and did help raise funds for the park, so plan to be there.

hmmmm...not sure what the deal is with continuances, but isn't the lawyer taking away his clients' right to a speedy trial?
