Remember
Because it seems way too many people have pushed it to the backs of their minds. But for First Responders, it should always be first and foremost in our souls. Not only because we lost so many comrades in arms, but because we may one day be called upon again to sacrifice so many so others might live.

too many people have forgotten and moved on to '' more important things''. dear public, the fire and police are the only ones that will try to save your bacon in a real crisis.
Totally agree with your assessment, SCC.
It's too bad that Obama is trying to turn 9/11 into "community activist day" with disregard for the innocent citizens and all those 1st responders who gave the ultimate sacrifice to save so many lives on that fateful day.
What a turd this guy is.
.
Mayor Shanks completely forgot about it, among other things. Got to count those contracts for the Olympics, there are plenty of pies to slice!
ABC News is reporting that in early 2001, FBI informant Elie ASSAAD was providing critical intelligence on the activities of Al Qaeda operative Mohammed ATTA, later identified as the mastermind among the nineteen 9/11 suicidal terrorists.
ASSAAD states that the FBI inexplicably pulled him off of ATTA in the months prior to 9/11. Would more than 3,000 lives have been saved had ASSAAD continued to infiltrate ATTA and his Al Qaeda cell? ASSAAD emphatically gives a resounding "YES".
As in the retaliation of FBI whistleblower Robert WRIGHT, the FBI refuses to comment.
As you may recall, while assigned to a top level position in the Bureau's Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR=FBI version of IAD), da WEISel conspired to "take (Wright) out" because S/A WRIGHT was embarrassing FBI bureaucrats in his dogged pursuit of domestic terrorist activity.
I Walked into Roll Call at 0800, just like any other day in 025. A fellow P.O. asked me...."F-ed up! Eh?"
"Waddya mean?" I asked.
She explained that a plane had crashed into one of the towers of The World Trade Center. I have to admit..I half giggled as I envisioned some idealogue goof smashing a bi-plane into a window and plummeting to his own death.
I soon learned that wasn't what happened at all. It was the worse thing that happened to the United States in my short history as a policeman, U.S. Citizen, man.
I got into my Beat Car and proceaded to the weirdest day of my career here on this job.
Worried about the Sears Tower, The Standard Oil Building....the john Hancock Center, as I answered my jobs. I Heard about the Towers falling, The Fireman lost The Coppers lost....
A President who said "I hear you too"
God Bless The United States of America.
Rest In Peace Brothers, you Will never be forgotten!
too many have forgotten and think it will never happen again. these things usually happen once everyone starts to feel "safe"
I haven't forgotten.
"WE WILL NEVER FORGET".....
REMEMBER THAT?
I THINK A MAJORITY OF THE AVERAGE CITIZEN FORGOT.
SAD.
God Bless All the Victims Who Died on 9/11.
Remember to fly the flag today in their honor.
Also, God Bless All Who Died FROM AND ARE DYING FROM 9/11.
We must remember!
I like to think the city is such a great place that even the sleeper cells of terrorists down want to awaken.
We all know that's total B.S.
We 've just been lucky.
We should remember all who were in 9/11. Our prayers go out to all who lost their family members.
We should also keep all the first responders in our prayers, the ones that lost their lives and all the men and women that were lucky enough to survive.
I think we should also pray for our first responders every day. We don't realize all that they do. They are called on to do so much and to be everything to everyone. The administration in Chicago don't seem to show their appreciation and surly don't show them any respect. I will remember them in my prayers daily. I think we should remember first responders from all over our country in our prayers.
I think about that day all the time. When I pick up my spouse form work, downtown. When I drive down The Kennedy and when I work CTA. Too many in this country have forgotten. I NEVER will!
P.S. Fly the Flag today
God Bless all the heroes and victims of that tragic day along with all the soldiers who have been fighting the war on terror ever since.
All of your service is much appreciated!
What also seems to have been forgotten with all this crap bout health care is that there are brave Americans being killed and wounded fighting a war for the freedom and safety of the same liberal pieces of shit that want to take away our freedom of choice.
Especially today, but everyday day please remember there is someones child putting their life on the line for us.
THOSE WHO FORGET THE LESSONS OF THE PAST ARE DOOMED TO REPEAT THEM IN THE FUTURE.
THANK YOU for this post. It's nice to know that some people still thin about this tragic event in American history. It's a a shame that there is not enough emphasise on EVERYONE to still pay some type of tribute on this day. But I guess that would be to offensive to some people as the could care less.
Thanks CFD.

REST IN PEACE, our brothers and sisters. WE REMEMBER!
Can anyone think of ANYTHING new this department has done in the last two years towards planning for an event of this magnitude?
How about a Mumbai style attack or the London bombings? How about the attempts in London and Glasgow?
Instead, we have decreased manpower across the city and cut back at the airports and in Mass Transit but hey, bring on the Olympics, we’re ready.
Three more years, I think I can, I think I can……
May God watch over those who keep this country safe.
We will bow our heads in memory yet our eyes and ears remain open. Thanks for this remembrance SCC.
Yes our Mayor forgot, look at the way he treats the Police and Firemen. They expect us to be first responders and risk our lives but don't want to pay us or give us any respect. That goes for the citizens also. It is enuff to make you sick, but you know what we keep on doing the job anyway, Thats because we have more heart and class than DA Mayor and most people who live in this city. God bless us all everyone. Never forget 911
It was a beautiful Tuesday morning that would change our lives forever. It's too bad the current administration treats 9/11 as if it never happened.
Weaken our country and our enemies will attack. Weaken our spirits and we will let them.
Never forget!
'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'
You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither ill I.
I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK..I am ready to go.'
I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.
I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'
I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.
I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.
I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan .
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?
I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all knew Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.
Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.
I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?
Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you. But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
'ready to go.'
I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.
God
First post.
Longtime reader.
Never forget.
This city is screwed if a terrorist attack occurs. The mayor however would probably secretly love it, his friends could be hired to re-build and make billions, he could change his image to america's caring mayor, Daley and Obama would publicly cry and somehow blame previous administrations lack of focus, Daley would get more federal money for first responders and use a 1/3 of the money for it and give 2/3 away to "special" friends.
Come on now,we had TARA (LOL) training by the "clout kids" what a total waste of a week, could be put into a couple of hours! Now that the only copper teaching tara Det Zuley retired the kids have no clue! Nothing like a clout position working 1 hour days! Just another waste of time and federal mony, that would be better spent on new equipment in case of an attack!! More daley & Company smoke and mirrors!

I will never forget, and everyday my AMERICAN flag the only flag that counts flys high!! EVERYDAY!!
I was in college on 9/11. I will never forget waking up in the morning to the sound of the maintenance man in our apartment banging on my bedroom door asking if he could turn on our tv while he tried to fix our a/c. As I went to class, the entire campus was completely silent. Everyone was walking around with stunned looks on their faces. I saw a couple walking towards the same building I was going into, holding hands, each with an American flag tucked into their backpacks.
When I got to class, the professor told everyone to go home and call our loved ones. As we all shuffled back out of the building you could hear a pin drop.
That was shortly after I had taken my first power test to get on the job. I had never even imagined that as a future police officer I would possibly have to respond to such an incident. It terrified me, but made me want to be a police officer more than ever.
God Bless our brothers and sisters that lost their lives on 9/11. WE WILL NEVER FORGET
Always think "This year I won't cry"...every year I'm wrong.
God bless.

Rest assured, there are things in place to secure our city's safety. None of this is with the current administration's help. There are some good people on this Department working for our safety, despite of the obsticles placed in their way..
The bread and circus mentality was the downfall of more than one king. The Olympic mess the taxpayers doesn't want has been more important than prepared first responders. That is something the voters should remember about all our elected officials come voting time.
I lost 2 friends at 9-11. NYPD ESU members John Coughlin and Walter Weaver.
Eternal rest grant on to them O' Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithfully departed Rest In Peace. Amen.
We will NEVER forget.

I will NEVER forget that day. So many died....so many lives changed forever. My two young sons had pre joined the Marine Corp before 911. One was 17 and the youngest was 15. They both wanted 0311 [infantry]. I was scared to death when I saw the 2nd plane crash into the building....saying out loud in my front room..."we are at war". I feared for all our military and my 2 boys. The Corp called up my son earlier than expected. I wanted to scream..."please don't take my son!!!!". These past years have taken a toll on my health.
I pray HARD everyday for those who we lost on 911 and those we have since lost in this war. As I told my sons, one purple heart is enough but they both have a "heart of a hero" and they RUN into harms way. Many around me at work look at me without understanding when I hear that another has been KIA and I cry. Sorry for babbling, but this day always brings me great sorrow.
God bless our country and GOD bless our military!
As my boys would say: SEMPER FI!
I visited Ground Zero and will never forget those who so bravely sacrificed trying to save others.
God Bless America and the families of the fallen.
Always remember the Brotherhood, the victims were our brothers and sisters. Always remember their sacrifice. Be alert and mindful, and ready to meet the challenge of evil unleashed.
This guy's name is Cass Sunstein. He is Obama’s “regulatory czar” and was confirmed by the Senate on Wednesday. What an idiot. He is a Harvard Professor and he teaches that the point of the 2nd Amd is NOT to protect your self.
Fool.
Is it just me, or does it feel like this just happened?! 8 years?! We will never forget who did this to us but more importantly, those innocent people who were killed because of the hatred shown to America.
RIP.
Head bowed, hand over heart, tears of sadness rolling down my cheek. My prayers to all who were lost that terrible day. I fear that time has eased our pain, yet that pain is what drives us to destroy the cowardly terrorists who so casually take innocent human lives. Never let the pain of Sept 11th fade from your memories.
this is to us what the kennedy assasination was to our parents....I'll never forget heading to 26 cal, pondering why someone would do this....getting to cermak and california and over am780 came "all courts are closed", I then drove around for a while, with an empty feeling inside.
Going to work midnights, that night in 24 was weird, everyone on edge, the hotbed that rogers park could be with all the ethnicities living together.....god bless all those who perished trying to do the right thing that fateful morning
To the poster that asked (what has the department done to better prepare for a terrorist attack?)
I now have an AR-15 thanks to the dept. That one change alone is huuugggeee. Next step... officers should take on their own is to buy a Kevlar helmet and quick clot. Take the initiative!!! Deduct it on your takes because it has no personal value, only police related.
something i'll never forget.
it's unfortunate we cannot get a president from either side that knows what they're doing and actually wants to get Osama...
i was rdo, asleep, my mom called me and told me to turn on the television. Never Forget!
The Illinois Secretary of State sell America Remembers license plates all of the money beyond the regular fees for plates goes to help families of those lost. I have mine
And to think that the only news these days is about the CIA torturing suspected terrorists! How soon people have forgotten...
To the poster of the 6-part essay on "Steve:"
While moving and poignant, the essay is much to long, even posted in 6 parts. Please provide a link to the original website rather than the entire content of what may be a copyrighted piece of material.
Thanks
This country is filled with idiots....just look who our leaders are. Those scum bag terrorists just laugh at us if they had the same resources that we have we would be fucked! I'm just here to document the fall of western civilzation.
The very sad fact is.......most American forgot this date!! Too bad.
God Bless the Firemen and for the Policemen who put themselves in harms way every time there is a crisis. Thank you from a civilian.
Let there be never another 9/11!!
For all my departed brothers and Sisters of 911! I just finished a 22 minute musical video montage from 4th of July pics this summer!

It's too bad the current administration treats 9/11 as if it never happened.
++++++++
Please explain, even briefly, how the CURRENT Administration "treats 9/11 as if it never happened."?
Seeing as how TODAY is the FIRST 9/11 Observation since THIS Administration took office.
Maybe you saw his schedule?
ASSHAT.
"It's too bad that Obama is trying to turn 9/11 into "community activist day" with disregard for the innocent citizens and all those 1st responders who gave the ultimate sacrifice to save so many lives on that fateful day"
ACTUALLY IF YOU LISTENED TO HIS SPEECH TODAY HE GAVE HIGH PRAISES TO THOSE CURRENTLY SERVING IN THE MILITARY& CALLED FOR PEOPLE TO VOLUNTEER. AS MANY ORDINARY CITIZENS DID ON 9/11.
"Rest assured, there are things in place to secure our city's safety. None of this is with the current administration's help. There are some good people on this Department working for our safety, despite of the obsticles placed in their way.."
PURE BULLSHIT BROUGHT TO BY SOME 35TH ST WHITESHIRT SUCKHOLE ASSCLOWN
Just remember that POTUS Hussein has spent the last 9 months apologizing to the worldwide Muslim community for our post 911 actions.
Has the worldwide Muslim community condemned 911,Bali,Madrid, London, murders of Israelis, etc...? I think not.
Leftists like Obama consider our CIA and military to be their true enemies.
And while we're talking...get the fuck out of Afghanistan. We're not going to turn them into Prius driving, latte sipping, Oak Park type assholes. If trouble emanates from that squalid shithole, punitively slaughter a few hundred thousand of them from the air, poison their fields, and leave.
Ali-assa-lickum, assholes
Don't think of 9/11 as an event with a definite ending. It is a continual warning to us that this can happen and those who would do this to us are waiting and planning carefully for the next one.
It will happen again. Those of us in CPD know exactly how unprepared we are and how poor our leadership is. Have your own plans, gas masks, extra water, protein bars etc. Have a plan and don't depend on our leadership to do anything other than the usual Keystone cops routine.
Also, a supply of cash at home or wherever, depend on computer systems, atm's etc. going out. Depend on only basic communication. Keep the gas tank on your personal vehicle and CPD vehicle always full.
Have a plan, even if only a simple plan, among you and your family and co-workers.
They will hit again. Count on it. The head of security for Morgan Stanley in New York, Rick Rescorla, said ater the 1993 WTC bombing that they will hit again and he urged Morgan Stanley to relocate to New Jersey in a low rise facility.
They didn't.
On 9/11 Rick Rescorla ignored broadcast orders to remain in the second tower and took it upon himself to order Morgan Stanley employees to evacuate. That decision saved several thousand more lives that day. Rick Rescorla himself was killed trying to get more people out.
Have a plan. You will need it one day.
We got the all clear.
The Sun Times reports that, "Chicago is as prepared for a terrorist attack as any big city can possibly be, Mayor Daley maintained today."
To think I was worried that I wasn't ready to respond properly due to a lack of any type of training other than TARA.
While waiting to get a haircut today I picked up the Tribune and did not find any mention of this being the 8 year anniversary until I got to page 40. Oprah made page 2. Disgusting! Thats why I will not but this rag ever again.

#26 depicts our own Tom Cody playing the bagpipes yesterday in Pennsylvania outside of a Flight 93 Memorial site.
Thank you.
I found TARA interesting and informative. I was impressed how the instructors had not just advanced degrees but some fought against terrorists in Iraq and Afganistan.
They didn't forget 9/11 and reminded us not to forget it also.
Clout maybe. But knowledge and intensity displayed by the instructors was most evident.
We will never forget 9-11, but each month of each year Dan Rostenkowski, recieves his pension check of over $100.000.00 per year after his prison term in which he was pardened by President Clinton.
He not only forgot but each and every Man/Women we sent into the Senete and House of Rep., leaves a bill in committee that would give back Social Security to each and every one of all fallen brothers, (Police and Firemen), They forgot about us and hope next election we do not forget them with voting for the other person.
Next time were called upon to run into a building to save someone, send in one of these POS. and see how fast they come up with a contract or backing for the Police or Fire department.
Call and back the FOP, Benevolent in their quest to remove the windfall provision of the Social Security Act.
Speaking of "Remember"
Last Thursday John Gordon who is employed by the Police Memorial Foundation along with police officers who were on and off duty attended the court hearing in branch 42-2 at Belmont and Western Ave. regarding the punks who spray painted and vandalized a few sections of the memorial. The memorial is our sacred ground to honor the men and women of the Chicago Police Department who gave their lives serving and protecting the very same kind of scum who damaged the memorial. What they did was no different than pissing on the officers graves.
Let's now speak on behalf of our silenced officers and attend the next hearing on September 23rd at 0900 hours. Last Thursday we had about 50 officers there. Let's triple that amount. If it gets continued again, we'll be prepared to have 300 officers there.
John Gordon is a civilian who's brother was killed in the line of duty. John is a little shy about reaching out to the membership, but I'm not. Be there because it's the right thing to do.
By the way, Kudos' to the few exempts who took time from their busy day to attend, thank you, it was noted. The same goes for everyone else there. Thank you too.

To many people have forgotten already. Thank you to our Brothers and Sisters in Blue that have not forgotten.
I read this blog all the time, but have never been motivated to post. Now seems like a good time.
I lived in NYC on 9/11/01 & still cry when I think about the outpouring of generosity from not only our own fire, police, EMT, paramedic (etc.) men & women, but those from all over the country. All of you that just got in your vehicles & drove to NYC because we needed your help. Seeing trucks from around the country for weeks after constantly choked me up.
I'll admit, I was 21 at the time & never really gave much thought to anyone but myself but after seeing how people like you came to our aid changed a lot of my views on the world. Thank you for that. And thank you for selflessly protecting me & everyone else every other day of the year.
Maybe it's just because I lived there, but I'll never forget the smoke, the smell, the tears, the missing posters (those were the worst), and the horror of it all. Along with those thoughts are naturally the thoughts of lives lost. Civilian & Protectors.
Not all the public thinks of you poorly. Some of us vote for your raises, appreciate what you do for us, and are grateful that you have the guts to do what we don't. Please don't think we're all a**holes.
To 9/11/2009 09:13:00 AM:
Powerful.
Thank You.
God Bless the USA.
"Next step... officers should take on their own is to buy a Kevlar helmet and quick clot. "
And Israeli bandages....and learn how to use them.
Hey Northside!
You beat me to the punch regarding your comments on the FBI's inexcusable and inexplicable decision to pull their informant off the 9/11 ringleader Atta. This is a sin and a shame and reeks to high heaven of hamfisted political interference. This failure to act is the gold standard by which all acts of treason should be judged.
Of course no new ground is plowed by our disgust with and disdain for j-fart in part because of his actions in trying to "take out" someone who was trying to call attention to/blow the whistle on other's dereliction of duty and failure to abide by an oath to protect and defend this country. REGARDLESS of the geopolitik of propping up ossified dens of iniquity like the House of Ibn Saud because they have what we want.
This is a prime example of how political considerations are a corrosive and corrupting influence in law enforcement and the military.
The terrorists got a taste for blood!
They will do this again and again and again.
Know your enemy and what they can do!
Close the borders, remain dedicated to your language, take hold of your culture, or they will kill us with the death of a thousand cuts.
OMG, how can anyone forget that day and where they were when they first heard of it. I pary for all the soulswho were lost and their grieving families.
This govnmt is too busy pushing Olympics and govnmt health care...it stinks. Just how pro-active are we to prevent another terrorist act??? Doesn't seem like the higher-ups care. They are too busy with their "own agenda" and I pray for this country.
Today's administration is too busy going after CIA agents who interrogate and throw some water on some terrist's head. They forget how the enemy randomly beheads anyone they capture.
Will someone in Washington please grow some balls?
Never forget.
And please remember that the best weapon against tyranny is freedom.
To the poster that asked (what has the department done to better prepare for a terrorist attack?)

-----------------------------------
Why did you wait for dept. approval? What kept you from purchasing one? My personal opinion, I don't think the dept. or city is ready to handle a terrorist attack. All the cameras, trucks, and toys you see on the news are not enough. When's the last time you had any form of training for a terrorist attack. There's not enough gas masks for the troops for god's sake. What has the dept. done? Tara training (joke), not enough.
We must never forget !!!!
Regrettably, terrorism won.
Terrorism won not by downing the World Trade Center or damaging the Pentagon. These stand taller than they ever did in our hearts.
Didn't win by crashing that jet in Pennsylvania. The memories of the brave passengers will be with us forever.
Terrorism won because we ran, hid and cowered. Every time we have to go through another metal detector or have another entrance door sealed or talk to the citizens who pay us through bulletproof glass, terrorism won.
Bullies thrive on fear. The more we give in the more we empower them.
We goofed. Big time. Our response should have been, "Fuck you! This is America. If you want a fight, bring it on!"
When we got that badge and took that oath to support and defend the Constitution, how many people really thought about what it meant?
Instead of dumping inconveniences law abiding people, we should have pounded the crap out of those who support terrorists. We didn't. Terrorism won and thus we did little to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrafice eight years ago.
Rudy Giuliani said it best. You want to do something patriotic? Go out and spend money. Don't curtail anything. Stand tall and proud and collectively say to the forces of evil, "Fuck you!"
We blew that chance. Big time.
Since my final deployment, I've had in my possession a neatly folded American Flag, in a nice wood and glass case, as do many of the rest of you who deployed during that time, and hopefully since. It was meant to offer some thanks, some honor to us who went to do a job. That Flag, in it's case was promptly hung on the wall over my sofa, in my living-room, for all to see, for all to remember, not me, for I survived. I didn't hang it to pat myself on the back, I hung it where I'd see it every day to remember.
A neatly folded American Flag, the last thing a family and friends receives from the government for their fallen Hero, some man/woman, who went, without being asked to do the unthinkable, to pay the price, to sacrifice in light of circumstance. A neatly folded American Flag, the adornment of the coffin of the faithful. I've seen many such coffins, draped in Flags, each time with the hope that it would be the last, knowing that it won't.
It has been a long road, from 1775 until now, a hard road, and one that of late, we've strayed too far from, our current government is a sad testament to that fact. We each have a stake in this country, many of us have paid for it, many are paying, but when the bus stops at the end of it all, nobody, rides for free.
Rest in Peace my fallen Brethren of both worlds, and thank you for your leadership, your lessons, and your sacrifice. To the rest of my Brethren of both worlds, BE SAFE! My prayers are always with you.
GRAND CROSSING GUNSLINGER
I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.
God (edited due to length)
You made me cry. Few can do that.
Thank you.Beautiful Post.
To those souls lost, you ARE NOT Forgotten.
Not many flags flyin today.
More 4sale signs than Old Glory.
Is it like this everywhere? Or just this sad excuse of a city?
NEVER FORGET
On 11 Sept 2001 at 0830 I was in a patrol car for Marquette Park. My partner (TONY LYNCH) came out of Holy Cross with an ashen look on his face and told me to go in and look at the TV. By the time I got to the TV in the ER waiting room the 2nd plane hit. I honestly thought i was watching a trailer for a movie then I realized what I was looking at.I cant explain the numb i felt but at the same time I also knew there would be hell dealt on the Arab Store owners in Marquette Park. Our day was spent protecting them from the mobs. That night I watched on the news the horror and cried for those lost. As I write this now many years later I still pause to wipe my eyes dry.I think the "where were YOU when....." posts bring back to vivid memory where we were, what we felt and how we reacted. And it embeds one other phrase in our minds.WE WILL NEVER FORGET. Today, before I went to my job, I found a "9-11" pin and put it on my shirt. What pained me was when a kid working at the store asked me what it was for.I will NEVER forget that day the rest of my life.and I will ALWAYS remember the fallen and NEVER FORGET.
Here is a good one. Streets and san has made a deal to get federal money to have its employees take the IS-704 NIMS Communications and Information Management course and test. This will get the city 300 per person who takes the course and test. It is mandatory except for the laborers. Classes currently being held at Electricity building 24th ashland mezzanine level

I'm sure there is plenty of money for the training and specialty equipment its just all be stolen by our corrupt city leaders
I just want to thank all the CPD who were with me when we borrowed a bus and went to help out at the WTC a few days after the bombing> A great group of people> It was vey emotional and I still have a hard time watching all the WTC TV specials> NYPD, NYFD and the citizens of NY were ver grateful to see CPD searching, directing traffic and performing other duties. Sorry to say that I suffer from a cough which comes and goes ever since. All volunteers at the WTC can register for free medical checkups in NY. Good luck brothers< a supervisor.
"ACTUALLY IF YOU LISTENED TO HIS SPEECH TODAY HE GAVE HIGH PRAISES TO THOSE CURRENTLY SERVING IN THE MILITARY& CALLED FOR PEOPLE TO VOLUNTEER. AS MANY ORDINARY CITIZENS DID ON 9/11.

Actually, if you listened to his speech today, you heard another fine example of the truism, 'talk is cheap.'.
GOD BLESS THE USA. Lathrop One, go f yourself, and your arab stores that u feel u had to protect. I was in a neighboring area, and U are full of shit. NO arab store suffered the wrath that U seem 2 think. I have read your comments b4, and u appeared to be right, I will skip past U now. I, personally, have not spent a cent in an arab store in 8 years, and NEVER will. they can keep their "jucice" too.
Seeing as how TODAY is the FIRST 9/11 Observation since THIS Administration took office.
Maybe you saw his schedule?
ASSHAT.
9/11/2009 03:34:00 PM
Sorry to inform you "oh head deep in the sand" but while you were asleep at the wheel and drinking copious amounts of the company Kool-Aide the current administration is depleting our country of its ability to defend itself.
Most obvious, especially in your case, is the lack of convern for what the government actually does. The Pied Piper plays his music and you are lulled into complasency. All the money being rerouted to 'social' funds is coming from defense programs as well as law enforcement.
Mainstream America doesn't need to know how our nation is defended only that it is. When our freedoms are a thing of the past, call me tool boy. And I'll gladly replace my asshat with your badly abused vagina!

Let me guess: TARA was a complete waste of time, all bosses are idiots, nobody is smarter than me.
There are plenty of smart, talented and hard working white and blue shirts that have families in this City and are working for their safety and ours. What have you done?
Your uninformed complaining only helps to put a target on this City and our Department.
GOD BLESS THE USA. Lathrop One, go f yourself, and your arab stores that u feel u had to protect. I was in a neighboring area,
Ok Pay attention and put down your flag and crawl down from your tank ASSHOLE, We were ASSIGNED by our bosses at the time to insure that nothing happened to the stores in that area which nothing did. It was a preventative measure. And its amazing how one will talk tall SHIT and not leave a name.GROW A PAIR NEXT TIME and leave a name. And personally I could care less if Im read or not. Go back to what im sure you do best, hiding behind a desk or some clout DOING NOTHING and collecting a check.
regarding the ultimate horror...there is more money for shortshanks pockets in demolition and cleanup contracts than there is in prevention measures which is an expensive waste in his mind ...which is why we are so woefully underfunded, under-prepared and underpaid..not much money to be had in injured or dead citizens/police/fire, etc.
All nineteen were identified. had we gone, and killed the families of these 19 I would guess that maybe 4-5 hundred people. Mothers, fathers, grandparents, etc. after they killed thousands and attacked this country.
It seems inhumane but no one would every come to America again and kill like they did that day. Knowing that their families would bear the cost of their action.
We have faught two wars, one in Iraq and one in afkanitan,(?), and have lost thousands of good American kids.
And while I have your attention lets put a carrier off the coast of Columbia and give the President there a week to burn off the cocaine feild's, or we use a low level atomic bomb over the area, and they will never send a once of cocaine to America again.
I know I'm crazy and nuts but America first,
"A retired Police Officer"
I remember all too well how surreal it was to see such horror unfolding on a beautiful September day. Can't believe it's been 8 years. I will never forget.
I wll never forget that fateful day. Shortly before this tragedy I took my son to New York, his first trip there. I had never taken him with me before since I wanted him to be old enough to enjoy it. I had taken him down to Battery Park where you catch the ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. It was a hot summer day with high humidity. The line was about 2 hours long and I told my son let's go to the World Trade Center and get a cold drink and cool off. As we approached the door my son refused to continue in. We stepped aside and I asked him what his problem was. He answered what if they decide to bomb it again? I showed him the pillars that were placed around the building and told him they can't get in again. He still refused and we walked away. I teased him for being paranoid as we walked away. Since both his parent's were P.O's we could not understand why he alway's felt this way.Every morning I would watch the news while getting ready for work. On 9/11/99 I was in the bathroom when my son who was getting ready to leave for High School came running in my bedroom yelling I told you they would do it again. I exited the bathroom and saw the first plane strike the tower. I told him it looks like a commercial plane and it probably struck the building by mistake. I told him not to worry and leave for school before he was late. As soon as he left the house I watched as the second plane flew into the second tower. At this point I knew we were being attacked. I was in shock. I reported for work and knowing I would be sent somewhere being that I was in a specialized unit. I got to work and was told to take my squad car to a stagging area at 11th & State in the old parking lot. That was the 1st time in over 20yrs on the job I felt a pit in my stomach. The reason being that after all the yrs on the job I new we were not prepared for this. I had been on City Wide for most of my career and it hit me like a ton of bricks how unprepared we were if something happened to our city. Thank God we were spared. New York has a great Police and Fire Department in part because they have alway's had a Mayor that cared about them. To bad Chicago can't say the same.
semper fi police and fire always remember.
remember fdny 343,nypd 23,pap 37 may god hold you in his hands.

We will never forget 9-11, but each month of each year Dan Rostenkowski, recieves his pension check of over $100.000.00 per year after his prison term in which he was pardened by President Clinton...
Rosti got his checks while he was in the Federal Pen. He probably gets his full Social Security bebefits too because almost all laws that Congress passes has fine print in it that exempts Congressmen.
Now Obama, was a senate co-sponsor of a law that would restore our benefits. Why doesn't he push for it now? Why doesn't he order them restored by ordering the S.S.A. not to ask the sourse of pensions anymore?
I think he will be a one-term president.
at the same time I also knew there would be hell dealt on the Arab Store owners in Marquette Park.....
To the poster telling Lathrop One to "f" himself...just so you know as it is clearly apparent that you DIDNT read clearly, they were protecting the stores. I know this because I was assigned to 008 during the 9-11 turmoil and those guys in Marquette Park Patrol were asked to post infront of those stores so as to PREVENT something from happening. As I recall there were NO incidents of damages to those stores BECAUSE of this preventative measure. Your comment strikes me as atypical of the backbiting jealous "desk types" that are so very visible in this department now. I,for one, personally ENJOY reading what that guy writes as its written from the heart. And another thing you MAY want to know while youre busy waving your flag and spewing hate...Lathrop One was among the 70 or so Policemen that STOOD UP for the memories of the Fallen Officers that had their memorial desecrated. I pose this question to you....where the fuck were YOU?Busy Im sure swilling your beer and yelling at your kids or your wife or some other truly manly thing. What you NEED to do is think and MAN UP before you run your mouth on a blog about someone that has heart A SPINE and a set of stones.
VR Gresham 006
It's been eight years and I have not forgotten. Even now, I still try to understand what only Jesus Himself is Able to. My Heart still aches for those victims and their loved ones as if it is the very day.
Forget? I mean, with the Lockerbie assassin being freed "humanely", paraded like a hero in his homeland, exchanged for oil, so shortly before this anniversary. Can the Message be any Louder?!!!!
Someone here said once we feel safe, that's when it will occur again. Why do you think it hurt us so badly; because we never thought it would come. We cannot afford to forget.
Wake up everyone. Obama's already destroying what American life we have left and delivering it with a smile to our enemies as everyone cheers and applauds "he's so wonderful as he fucks us mercilessly".
Anyway, for the 9/11 victims, their loved ones, and us. May we, as Americans, stand True, so that not one of those lives were lost in vain, this pain we grieve, the scar etched on our very skin, and continue successfully vanquishing the enemies, especially since they died for what they were-American Heroes. May we, Americans, always remember, so that we will never be condemned to repeat the past.
God Bless the NYPD, NYFD, and all Police Officers and Firefighters and nobody else.
Many of us have not forgotten. Please don't think we have forgotten what you do for us everyday.
