- The Chicago City Council today approved, without a single dissenting vote, an ordinance that puts taxpayers on the hook for cost overruns if Chicago wins the 2016 Olympics.
Afterward, aldermen and Mayor Richard Daley gave themselves a standing ovation. The vote reauthorizes Daley to sign the Olympics host city contract in advance of the Oct. 2 vote in Copenhagen by the International Olympics Committee on which of four finalist cities gets the Summer Games in seven years.
Note the first sentence of the second paragraph: Afterward, [Aldercreatures] and [Shortshanks] gave themselves a standing ovation. Congratulations, Chicago. Another screwing by the politicians you continue to elect to office.

They only mentioned that the street was very loud when their reporter Corey Chambers was being drowned out by the protesters. Just want to let all of you know there was a great article in the Trib today about Densey Cole and about the police out there in Colorado that had a benefit for Densey and a PO from Minnesota that is in rehab from an accident.
The Chicago Police Department DID NOT send any officers out to Colorado to represent our Department.
Our Superintendent(and I use the term loosely because he is not much of a leader) REFUSED to send anyone.
Yes, he knew about this event.
Yes, several officers put in requests to attend.
YES, WEIS DENIED ALL REQUESTS.
The officers that went out to Colorado went on their own time and their own dime.
The Colorado officers secured air/hotel at reduced costs for these fine CPD officers to show our support for an officer injured in the line of duty.
Weis turned his back on PO Densey Cole and those that sought to assist him/support him.
Weis has not even contacted Densy to see how he is doing! He was going to wait until next month to do that.
Weiss is a piece of garbage.

Yes, the PPO's in 2016... they are still in GRAMMAR school because my ass certainly will not be reverse senioritied down there.
Additionally, we are THOUSANDS of bodies short. We can barely service our own neighborhoods, in addition to the west side.
Tact teams etc will be detailed there, days off cancelled, etc, so any extra they make is forced in order to keep their spot...

Hopefully I will be out of this hell hole by then. I will be in Arkansas or Idaho, where I will be one of the few 'foreigners', and one of the few 'minorities', being from out-of-state.

Word is spreading that the groupie Commander, (R.W.) took numerous members of her staff (on duty of course) to the Cubs/Sox crosstown last Thursday (1:05 game).

Well, I guess that just confirmed the truth to the story.
He's raising all this money for himself to back the Olympic bid. Meanwhile, Rio de Janeiro is devoting 100% loyalty to residents first, then to the Bid. Rio will win the bid and all the raised money will go into Daley's pockets. Hey Daley, there's no I in team. You're a bench warmer and need to be laid to rest.

Big thanks to the wonderful women of 1433R last night. They took very good care of me, roommates and housemates after a fire. Made a bad night much better than it otherwise would have been.

I'll write the letter and fill out IPRA's web form. Yeah, let them know for me. Will see them on the street sometime, eventually I suppose, and tell them myself, but I found a 14th Dist Sgt the other night and let him know, too.
