Wisconsin Serial Killer
- A Milwaukee man whose DNA authorities say linked him to the slayings of nine women since 1986 has been charged with two counts of homicide, with more charges expected this week, police and prosecutors said Monday.
Walter Ellis, 49, was taken into custody after a struggle at a motel Saturday, days after police served a search warrant to obtain a DNA sample, Police Chief Edward Flynn said. Ellis was charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, and more charges will be filed within the next few days
We recall at one point, detectives had identified something like four unique patterns on the south side, all involving prostitutes missing and turning up dead. At least two were cleared that we know of. If Illinois' DNA database wasn't such a freaking mess, would it be possible to connect this guy to some Illinois crimes?

In 025 we had a woman found in a drum off of Cicero Ave. back in january or february of 08. Back in 2004 in the fall, a black crackhead/prostitute was found wrapped up and duct taped in a roll of carpet, left in an alley off of Grand Ave. The woman in the carpet roll was supposedly dropped off by two M/4's according to witnesses. Either way, never really heard if those two got solved. They may have. Any info from anyone?
Don't forget SCC that the IDOC released over 50,000 inmates WITHOUT COLLECTING THEIR DNA like they were suppose to.
Imagine how many DNA hits were missed because of this messed up system we have.
Ellis is just another garden variety serial killer preying on hos.
Anything less than cannibalism is sophomoric. Ellis didn't even drill a hole in their skulls for turkey baster injections of muriatic acid.
Good thing he didn't have a pit bull in that motel room or he'd still be free.

If the truth be known, prostitutes and others living high risk lifestyles comprise most of the victims of serial murderers. They are easy prey.
It's only when the victims are relatively "innocent" that the media goes into a feeding frenzy mode.

Is it mere coincidence that you've chosen the moniker "Edmund Kemper"? I think not.
Kemper, at 6'9" tall and over 300 lbs., was the "Coed Killer" of Santa Cruz who preyed on college girls at the UCSC (the fighting "Banana Slugs"). For his grand finale, he beheaded his own mother.
As a teen and before he went on his murderous rampages, this cannibal with a genius IQ had been confined to the California State Hospital for the Criminally Insane at Atascadero.
Among serial murderers and in the true California tradition, Kemper was a real psychiatric doosie. One day, he will be released from San Quentin--in a coffin.
Ironically, probably the best thing to do if anyone had any info would be to drop a dime on Milwaukee PD and have them refer it back ... probably would get a little more attention coming from Chief Flynn.
Must be nice to work for Dept. where they have detectives that actually solve crimes
To the best of my knowledge, all four patterns in the "Englewood Rapist" killings were cleared by arrest.

Heard from some fed that they estimate that there about 10-15 serial killers working the country at any given time. They kill, dump the body and move on. As long as there is no outstanding signature, there is nothing to positively link them together. The Pacific Northwest, Washington, Oregon, northern California are thought to be hotspots. Lost of outdoorsy types in remote inaccessable areas make a fine hunting crowd. Wildlife destroys crime scene.
I guess everyone has to have a hobby.....
a lot of talk about no black serial killers. how many serial killers are there in the hood? i can think of at least 3 off the top of my head at the moment. people that have actually been convicted of murder more than once...

According to Milwaukee local news reports, there were some screwups. Wisconsin Dept. of Corrections had his DNA sample in 2001 and mailed it to crime lab which claims it never received it.
I think this dude had something to do with killing Favre's career. Can someone look into this for me?

A Kenosha store owner fought back when two armed robbers walked into his shop Wednesday, shooting one of the men.
According to Kenosha Police, two men walked into the Jewelry Exchange pawn shop, 2400-52nd St., at about 12:30 p.m., one of them pointing a handgun. The store owner pulled out a gun of his own and shot one of the men.
After the shooting, the robbers ran from the store into a parking area behind the shop, then cutting through an alley to the next block where the injured man collapsed next to the street on the 2400 block of 51st Street. Witnesses told police they saw the man collapse, while the second man got into a green Dodge Ram van and fled.
When police arrived, according to Sgt. Hugh Rafferty, they found the man lying on the ground, a handgun at his side, with a gunshot to his chest and a large pool of blood on the grass.
Bravo, Mr. Shopkeeper.
I would be willing to bet that his very first rap sheet entry has an englewood address. When I worked 007, in the 80's, almost every major crime in Chicago and the surrounding areas (to include WI and IN) had an englewood connection.
