Morale Survey Results

Oh, wait...
  • word is that the spring morale survey has been completed but was ordered buried because jfed was in fact the cause of the shit morale the department currently enjoys

jfed had promised that if it was learned that he was to blame for poor morale he would quit. another broken promise from the lying non-police fed
Well, he also said he'd promote lieutenants, sergeants, detectives and hire 200 warm bodies. Was anything more really expected?

J-Fed gots to get paid! A resignation might void that part of his contract.

Hey Weisel, 99 percent of the department hate you from the bottom up. You haven't done a damn thing to help this department. You have fucked over coppers who didn't need to be fucked over. Most of the exempt promotions you have made just made morale worse. You hold town hall meetings and don't listen to a thing anyone said. The Tahoes don't lift morale. Wearing shorts don't lift morale. Tha TARA training is a fucking joke because you don't allow them to teach anything that will truly prepare us for any terrorist attack. The department is the shortest in manpower it ever has been. You listen to the clueless assholes about policy, who have even less knowledge than you. I know that's hard to believe. Everytime you wear the uniform I want to knock you upside the head. You never earned the right to wear the uniform and you never will. Your reply when it was said the exempts are out of touch with the troops was that they need to acknowledge us, when you don't even do it yourself. Do us a favor, quit and take MASTERS, BRUST and the rest of the clueless asshole that surround you with. Cline may have taken care of the people he knew, but at least he had people in the department who knew what in the hell being the police was about. Cline would at least give the PO's some respect. You have no clue and the exempt promotions you made showed this clearly. We know you are clueless and besides the fact we know you are in way over your head has caused Department morale to be at the lowest point it will ever be. Every PO, Detective, Sergeant and Lieutenant know this department is a laughing stock and a cluster fuck because of you. The only people who may be loyal to you are the asshole exempts you promoted who never would have had a chance with a Superintendent who came up through the ranks. Every half assed idea you come up with is all smoke and mirrors. Any and every cop who has been killed or will in the future, their blood is on your hands based on your inexperience. You say morale is fine because PO's respond to 10-1's. That's not morale it's the brothers and sisters of this department watching each others back because no one else will. Try doing 6 months of 3rd watch in 007, 011, 015, 010, 003, 006, 004 or the east end of 022. After 2 hours tops you'd be running and locking yourself in your 5th floor office. Go back to the FBI where the other clueless idiots are. Make room for a Superintendet who might be able to put this department back toghether. If you want to see what it is like to be the police, besides the way you flex your muscles, try going on have the in progress calls or fight with someone on PCP or a mental. I doubt that will ever happen. Weisel, you don't need a poll to know the department loathes you and sees thru the bullshit that comes out your mouth.

Heres another reason why morale is in the shitter. Not only are all cars on 3rd watch 99 in the first district. There are no less than 7 people assigned to work inside. And since technically they arent allowed to have that many inside they actually leave people off of the sheets so they dont get busted. They call them the ghosts. And to top it off time due is tight just so the desk can be over

If you don't like the answers, change the questions!

The bubble headed Fed isn't BURYING the morale survey, SCC. He's just tweaking it a bit by adding a few final questions...

Would you rather be a Chicago Police Officer or a spawning salmon swimming upstream and leaping into the jaws of a starving Grizzly Bear?

Would you rather be a Chicago Police Officer or a crash test dummy?

Would you rather be a Chicago Police Officer or Dorothy Tillman's boy toy?

Would you rather be a Chicago Police Officer or a bar of soap at a gay bath house?

Would you rather be a Chicago Police Officer or an earthworm about to be put on a fisherman's hook?

Fed Fraud is anticipating that more than half of the answers to each of these questions will be that everyone would rather be a Chicago Police Officer than ANY of those other things, therefore proving that things can't possibly be THAT BAD!

There, morale problem solved. That wasn't so hard!

Who cares? He's finishing up almost two years already anyway! The damage that he has caused is irreparable now. He's collected almost 550K from the taxpayers thus far and has done nothing but cause turmoil and animosity on this department. He's got just over a year for his contract to expire and he'll be gone leaving a stain behind similar to a "skid mark" in your underwears.

He makes claims that crime is down this year by double digits (https://portal.chicagopolice.org/portal/page/portal/ClearPath/News/Statistical%20Reports/Index%20Crime%20Statistics/2009%20Index%20Crime%20Statistics/Aug09CS.pdf).

Even if it was true Mr. Weis let us not forget that crime particularly murders also went up double digits your first year according to a report you released in Jan 09 (http://www.chicagopolice.org/MailingList/PressAttachment/2008crimestats.pdf). You remember the year you said it took for you and your new, mostly merit, deer in the headlights look, inexperienced exempts to get "familiar" with their districts. Boy if we can turn FORWARD the hands of time!!!

You can blame the superintendent for all of the current ills in the department, but the downhill slide started long before he came along. This has always been a political department with rigged promotions and clout heavy transfers, people with clout taken care of in many ways. Daley came along and brought things to a higher level with his merit promotions ( they no longer could rig the testing process so they now appoint people) and now bringing in a superintendent who does not know a thing about urban policing. The only thing that will now save the CPD is to bring in a new superintendent who has true urban policing knowledge and who will stand up to city hall. Fat chance of that ever happening

While we're on the subject, how about the physical fitness incentive. After having to bench press on a universal for past tests, the test has gone to using free weights. What does this do for the officer? Makes it more difficult and increases the chance of injury (which will not be IOD, by the way). What does it do for the city? Ensures less people will take or pass the test. This was suggested by Agent Zero in the policy group, endorsed by Jfed and implemented by management and labor affairs. Another stellar morale booster. I also heard that next the department will be setting up large fans along the route of the run so the entire route is against the wind. FOP where are you on this one? All recruit power tests are done by universal machine and all fitness award tests have been done by universal until this one, how about past practice? This is typical of the "fuck the blue shirt at every turn" mentality this administration has. Fuck jfed, his beady eyed buddy in professional services, and the whole policy group. Add me to the list of those shutting it down. I am through until this group of back stabbing, police wanna be, classless weasels is gone.

Unless I was misinformed a few years ago or something changed in the rules of the POWER Test, the universal machine for the bench press had to be certified by the State for the POWER Test. Unless I was misinformed a few years ago or something changed in the rules of the POWER Test, the universal machine for the bench press had to be certified by the State for the POWER Test. The Department only had two of these machines for years - 1 at the academy and 1 at Homan. Anybody know what this means for the current test?

The bench press part of the POWER test is now done with free weights and spotters. No machine.

If you want to be a whiny bitch about the 001st District Desk, get your facts straight. There are never seven assigned to the desk. All the p.o.'s that are regular desk people on third watch have an average of over 20 years Occasionally, because of time due or furloughs, we have to pull in a person that works the street. Generally they are chosen because they are COMPETENT and pleasant to work with. (Most probably unlike you, the whiner)

Secondly, you are a crybaby because time due is RARELY denied, the WC uses foot and tact in order to give you your time. Most of the time you were aware of that when you were about the 12th person to put your name in the time due book. I say, if you don't like it there, leave. 3rd district needs bodies.

AND, sorry you work 99, that would be the department's fault. I don't feel as sorry for you as other districts since your activity is an embarrassment.

About the comment on Lt. ME, and I do not know anything about her,and I would believe it happened.

Time and time again I have witnessed supervisors with a brain get dumped or dirtied up by their higher rank supervisor who is an insecure idiot. It is happening more today than ever because jody's exempt staff is so inexperienced and panic stricken and jealous. Instead of using it to their advantage and being proud of hard working police who put out good work; most of these dumb vindictive exempts look at intelligent police as competition.

These dirty f*cks have ruined many of us who were once hard working policemen who always went out of their way to do the right thing and spent their own money and time for this department. I hate this city and the criminal lying rats running this department who made me regret my life for becoming a Chicago policeman.

Morale? Every one of us should be in therapy and on prozac for what this city and department has done to us.

Here is the appropriate section from the State of Illinois's POWER Test standards:

3. 1 Repetition Maximum Bench Press
This is a maximum weight pushed from the bench press position and measures the amount of force the upper body can generate. It is an important area for performing police tasks requiring upper body strength. The score is a ratio of weight pushed divided by body weight.
---

No where does it mention either Universal machine or free weights. The cowardly FBI agent who thinks he runs the Chicago Police department has decreed that free weights be used, therefore free weights are used.

TO: "Anonymous" at 10/10; 12:43 AM (5th post).

I received several eMails with your above cited post. It is being widely circulated among both active and retired CPD. I have also eMailed it DIRECTLY to Weis, his secretary, Tribune columnist John Kass; Robert Grant, SAC, FBI-Chicago and 193 unnamed recipients with my preface which follows:

WEISel

I didn't write the following. It's not scathing enough for my taste. CPD morale is NOT at an "all time low". It's fuckin' nonexistent. Remember your "promise" of April 2nd? Does the Willis (Sears) Tower have to fall on your head before you get out of town? You're irreconcilably despised. While the "anonymous" author remains unknown, s/he speaks for virtually the entire CPD, regardless of rank. Add to that the fact that Bill Cozzi rots 1,000 miles away in a Louisiana prison because of YOU, you vicious, soulless psychopath. You are a pathetic and clueless jagoff. Every time I see you wear OUR uniform, it brings back horrific memories of the blood-soaked uniforms of brave men who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Actually, the point came through loud and clear - that somehow it's a morale-booster to accept a little cash for performing a physical task that involves a standard so low that any healthy, non-sedentary adult should be able to perform it. It's all an effort to "fuck the blue shirt at every turn."??? I prefer to think that we are raising the bar a little. It shouldn't be so ridiculously easy that everyone can do it. The point is that real physical fitness takes - gasp - work. Turning this into a morale issue sounds like a lame excuse not to put in any real effort.

I am surprised about the support for Hiram Grau. He is a strictly merit promotee, never scoring high enough on a promotion test to make it legit. Sergeant, Lt and then the exempt ranks. Ok, I'll make this as simple as possible. This is not about the power test or how difficult it is. It is about the current administration making a conscious decision for the sole purpose of fucking over the working copper. Nothing more. They used the replacement bench press for purpose of limiting the number of people that would take or pass the test in order to reduce the pay out. Plain and simple, and if we are not outraged at jfed's "fuck you" tactics, we are worse off as a department than I feared. It has nothing to do with being man enough to pass a physical test, but more to do with the jagoffs and how they run our department.

Bringing that up here just shows that you dont have enough confidence in yourself to confront people you have problems with. J-Fed, Do you think that we didn't know that Chicago is the most politically corrupt city in the US? That we didn't see promotions and assignments filtered in and out of ward offices long before you traded your Brooks Brothers suits for a Nates leather jacket? Of course we did and we aren't blaming you for that. Here's what we're blaming you for. You gave us hope. You rode in like a knight on a white horse with your FBI credentials shining like a beacon of hope and said you would put an end to the corruption and criminality of policing in Chicago. You would legitimize merit promotions by making specific qualifications for merit promotion. You would end aldermanic and mayoral pandering and interference. You would support the police department you took an oath to lead and always have our backs. You turned out to be our worst enemy. Not only turning your back on my brother and sister officers but feeding them to the dogs. You didn't keep a single promise but joined forces quickly with the corrupt government of Chicago. How sad that you were able to be bought for such a paltry amount of money. I am a female and I am man enough not to sell myself or my fellows out for any amount. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors. I'm sure your reputation will follow you all the days of the rest of your life.
