New Inspector General
Mayor Daley today won rave early reviews for his decision to replace one seasoned federal prosecutor with another as Chicago’s corruption-fighting inspector general—even though the new guy appears to be lower-key.
“If you haven’t heard much about me before today, it’s mostly because I prefer it that way,” said Joe Ferguson, who succeeds David Hoffman, who resigned in August to run for the U.S. Senate. “I derive all the professional satisfaction I need from the fruits of dogged investigation and following wherever the evidence leads.”
Ferguson, 49, said he views public disclosure of investigations as a “critical aspect” of the inspector general’s duties. But instead of going toe-to-toe with department heads who resist his recommendations, he plans to work with them.

Figure Daley would replace Hoffman with someone who will look the other way. Guess his majesty, King DICK wants someone who will not expose corruption by Daley's inner crcle. That's why Maurer was fired because he knew all the major security holes at the airports. Now he can put some idiot yes man there also.
Until the Alderman are allowed to be investigated by the IG nothing will change...

Many years ago ago in the land of the CPD we had what was called bag men, the bag men would bring the fruits of graft to the WC and DC, now their is no more bag men, Police Officers have higher values and ethnics and place their lives at risk each day. However, WC and DC have not changed much. They are the new bag men for the Alderman and the Mayor.

yeah, the Feds look the other way at the big fish, too much like real work for them, just pick off a few small fish occasionally, blow the story up into a tall tale like they got some real big timers, and it's off to the next little fishies to reel in, , while the big fish swim away again, laughing.

They are all ethical for a while, then reality sets in and greed takes over! Power that is, and Daley wields it like a surgeon's scalpel! He can make or break anyone just look at the last 20+ years of his "power broker's skills!" Billions of dollars have passed through his hands into construction companies pockets and "connected" citizens bank accounts! And now that Obama is president, lawdy lawdy, "ain't no stopping him now!"

If this is truely the case, then the Feds are even more corrupt than the Daley Organized Crime Family.
It is time for us to have a rally at the FLOP Hall, and at this Rally, demand that the Feds stop molly-coddling Daley and his Crime Syndicate, and do their jobs. We are law enforcement officers and should not be working for, nor controlled by, organized political crime.
