Blame the Teachers!

Evidently, State Rep Monique Davis couldn't figure out a way to blame the police without looking like a total asshole. So she blames the teachers and somehow, still manages to look like a total asshole. Here's a partial transcript of a piece on WBBM Newsradio yesterday:
  • Taken from the 4:30 p.m. News to Go for 10/07/09. It starts at 1 minute 58 seconds in (no timer on recording).

Bernie Tafoya intro: Even though the framework for a solution is multipronged, State Representative Monique Davis says more police is not the answer. She pins the blame on teachers for not showing students how to be better citizens.

Monique Davis: If you’re not taught to value human life, or to respect your fellow man, if that is not taught through belonging to clubs, through art, through music, through literature, if these things aren’t being taught, then you’re just, you’re just like a figure. You know, we’re putting this in your head and that in your head, but we’re not making you a human being.

BT: Shouldn't that be taught at home?

MD: We can say should or shouldn't, but we pay teachers.

BT: Shouldn't it be taught at home?

MD: We don’t pay, we don’t pay home...

BT: Should it be taught at home?

MD: Of course. We’d love for it to be taught at home. But in most schools, it’s taught in school.
Wow. Just wow.

The "cradle-to-grave-welfare, blame everyone else but the face in the mirror" society just hit a new low. A-fucking-mazing. We wonder how many new social programs and tax hikes this idiot is going to spawn based on this little news item.

School sergeants were called to a meeting yesterday to be told about Huberman's new pet project for the at-risk high schoolers. Now, each problem student of the couple hundred he identifies as highest risk are going to have paid 'parents', who will tend to four kids each throughout the program.

Obviously, someone came to the conclusion that parents are absent in these kids lives.

Yes, WOW!!!

Should or shouldn't the creature responsible for bringing some of these monsters into the world YES be responsible to teach them not to lie, steal, cheat, go to bed at a civilized hour, go to school, get a real job where the IRS takes taxes, become a productive citizen of society, don't pull a knife on momma, don't raise your hand in anger, don't join a gang, don't sell weed out the house, don't keep a gun under your pillow, don't get tattoo's at 12, don't get pregnant at 14,

WOW, that's kinda a lot for a parent to do. So, i guess yes its the teachers and polices' job to get all that stuff taught.

Cause after all, its not easy smoking the crack pipe all nite long and then having to do all that stuff for a child society said I could produce, which the US Government ain't paying me enuf to keep, and all I got for the trouble was free housing and a measly link card that can't possibly pay for my life-style or the standard of living I think I should be entitled to.

Being poor has nothing to do with this, being GHETTO has everything to do with this.

I am a retired teacher. You spend so much time trying to get kids to listen and behave you are lucky you are able to teach anything. I taught a bilingual kindergarten class and they had a lady come in to teach the kids about their heritage, etc. I told her we learned that from our parents and our church. School was used to teach academics.

You are told to teach the kids to be good citizens, but you can't teach them morals. Your hands are tied so much.

Too many of these kids are being raised by grandmas and aunts. Some of these ladies are up in age and they have a hard time with the kids.

Now sometimes when you get kids that do live with their parents, the parents are gangbangers.

I had a kid in third grade (he failed once) who was arrested for auto theft.

There is so much politics in CPS that its criminal. If you don't get a long with the principal you can get a real crappy class the principal will not back you up. But then again the Police know that.

I think that principals should have to go into a school as a sub without anyone knowing who they are. I'm not talking about one of the magnet schools so they get a taste of what the teachers are going through.

I also feel that the uppity-ups in the Police Department should have to go out on midnights in a district where they are not known and not in white shirts. Get them some old uniform to wear. Let them get a taste of what the real Police have to go through out on the streets.

We need housecleaning from the top down in this city.

Start right there. Right there. WHY is there such a strong resistance in the black community to take responsibility or place it where it belongs.

Last night I was thinking of the sorry shits having that conference: Daley, Jackson, Pfleger, Duncan. When they looked around the room I wonder if it occurred to them that they have been having "summits" like this for thirty years and it keeps getting worse. Isn't it obvious that they are useless? And that THEY have contributed to it by constantly and relentlessly blaming everything and everyone but the people that need to step up? And that is, their parishioners and constituents. Period. End of story.

See how easy that was?

As far as teachers getting paid(Monique),to instill morals, these parents are getting paid(welfare) by our tax money to take care of their children, but they do not. What parent wouldn't like to get paid for staying home? Perhaps we need to bring back the McGuffy Reader.
The black community just refuses to assimilate and they never will until the so called black leaders start telling it like it is.

Aa an Honor Roll student at Hess UPC located on Douglas Blvf in North Lawndale, our class was under constant threat of being beaten up by other students.

We couldn't walk the halls so we were confined to two classrooms where they had to cut a door inside the rooms so that once inside, we did not have to go back out into the halls where we would surely be jumped.

After they made our classrooms adjourning, one of our teachers opened the door at the end of class and stated "now I have done all I can to protect you -I suggest you go to the locker, get your things out as fast as you can and get out of there.

As for role models at school- we were paraded around as the kids in the accelerated class probably to let others know they could get good grades too.

Instead we were beat uo and ostracized and the parents of the C and D students told their kids to beat us up and nobody cared.

Rep Davis is absolutely correct, they should have done a better job protecting the students, that is why establishments and schools have SECURITY.

In took global was and terrorism to let people know that SCHOOLS should be secured too.

You owe Rep Davis an apology.

One last comment -it used to irk me to no end and sone of my classmates
Too that our teachers were laughing flirting with each other while we had to run for our lives and figure out how to get from point a to point b in one piece.

We were 12 and 13 year olds.

They trotted us out to show to these monsters and then basically said "you are on your own."

We also knew that if not for us they would not get a paycheck.

It is the teachers fault.

CPS Hires Ex-Cop to Look into Costly Theft

Updated: Thursday, 08 Oct 2009, 8:32 AM CDT

* By Patrick Elwood, FOX Chicago News

Chicago - A FOX Chicago News investigation has found that millions of dollars worth of equipment has been stolen from Chicago Public Schools.

CPS documents show that from January 2006 until August 2009 crooks have been stealing just about anything that isn't nailed down -- computers, TV's, radios, DVD's, lawn mowers snow and leaf blowers, salt spreaders, and fishing equipment.

The biggest target has been computers: $1,943,493 worth of computer equipment was stolen during that period.

The district has hired Michael Shields to be the new safety director. He's a 23-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department

10/08/2009 06:20:00 AM

Speaking of reflecting the community that elected her, read on:

Once upon a time there was a U S Congressman named Harold Washington who became Mayor of Chicago because Richie Daley thought the Mayors office belonged to him, so he ran and split the white vote.

Washington hand picked Charles Hayes to replace him in Congress. Hayes was a moron who regularly made racially charged statements and accusations. He was even censured by Congress more than once for his behavior. I always wondered how the voters could vote for such a stupid, rude and racist candidate.

Once, he ran against another black candidate who was a Rhodes Scholar and still won! I could not believe that given the opportunity to have an intelligent, young, black, Rhodes Scholar represent them instead of the embarrassing Hayes, that the voters would put this moron back in office.

Then, there was the incident with Hayes and a former Miss Illinois. I don't remember all the particulars except that she was somewhere like Jamaica or something when she heard that Rep. Hayes also happened to be there. As they were both representing Illinois and were so far from home, she thought she should say hello. Hayes, about 40 yrs her senior tried to sexually assault her in the back seat of his limo after he agreed to meet her. When news of this got out, he lost the next election to the aforementioned Rhodes Scholar, but just barely!

I thought, FINALLY, these black voters have wised up and elected a competent representative. That was before THAT GUY, went to jail for having sex with a teenager. Anyone remember Mel Reynolds?

So has this elected office cleaned itself of the stench of corruption that has been endemic of its preceding office holders? Hardly!

The current holder of this office is none other than Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. who is currently under investigation by the Dept. of Justice for trying to buy the Obama Senate seat. A separate Senate Ethics investigation has been put on hold, (probably until JJ Jr lies on Blago to save his own skin).

Talk about the public trough getting shallower, and shallower!!!

ENOUGH! There is no longer any excuse which can be made. This is not a problem caused by anyone other than the black community. They have ineffective leadership and their morals are in the toilet.

No respect for life comes from no respect for authority of any kind, be it teachers or cops. When you get handed things for free and told it's because you have been discriminated against, it leads to a sense of entitlement and a view of self as victim.

The social experiments of the left have quite obviously FAILED. It's time for some real change and a great nanny state isn't what's needed.

Got me to wondering if the criminal element has yet caught on to the fact that school let out times are prime for crimes? If that many cars are at one school, how many cars can be left to respond to 911 calls? If I'd driven down Augusta to Welles HS, I bet I would have found another few cars from 13.

"BT: Should it be taught at home?

"MD: Of course. We’d love for it to be taught at home. But in most schools, it’s taught in school."

The above utterly mindless exchange helps illustrate that just because the residents of Chicago are mostly bipeds, and in some cases share something resembling a common language, does NOT mean that there is any commonality of understanding or experience.

"Home" is just a noisy place where you grab things to eat and sleep in a pile with TVs blaring and other people running over the pile shouting and fighting -- kind of like jail.

Many Chicagoans are completely unfitted to exist in the dangerous, high-speed, complex, rectilinear environment they find themselves in; the objects around them have little meaning except inasmuch as they can be marked up, broken off, or urinated against -- causing design of everything to the lowest common denominator and a proliferation of "security cameras," etc.

Whole place is turned into a primate house; if you can read the instructions, put money into the machine to subsidize those who can't read and will smash the machine.

Whole lotta people gonna be in trouble if "Atlas Shrugs."

Parents take resposibility? Unfortunately, they ARE the role models for this new generation. We have a recently "relocated family" on our formerly quiet block. Children try to panhandle neighbors while grandma was asking if she could "hold a $20 until the weekend". The 8 schoolage children that live there do not get up to be at the local school at any particular time because the adults (grandma, mom, and a host of uncles) usually don't wake up until noon or later. Social worker at the school has her hands full because this is just one of many families in this category. After school (if they even go), instead of homework it's off to the street to sell bootleg DVDs. The police are at the house frequently because grandma's ex-boyfriend (a convicted felon) just got out of jail and is back trying to "get with her" again. Neighbors have drawn invisible lines and at least for now if those lines are crossed there is one responsible adult there (the brother) that can be reasoned with. However, we are losing the battle; they appear to know a few more families from their old neighborhoods on nearby blocks and soon we will be outnumbered.

This is NOT news folks. CPS theft has been going on since the sixties. And not just from people going INTO the schools to steal but by purchase order. Everybody in the system knows it. And if you remember when Paul Vallas took over he held a news conference with a warehouse behind him full of things that had been purchased by CPS and were awaiting the arrival of the intended recipients. I believe there were even two Ford Explorers. Everything and anything imaginable.

In my neighborhood, every basement was filled with CPS banquet tables, chairs. Depending on your hobby, you could get sewing machines, kilns to fire pottery. Guys who had lake houses, ordered riding lawn mowers. You name it. That's why the city is broke. Periodically someone does a story about it, but nothing has changed.

WTF? Idiot liberal educators!!!

Robert "Bob" Starks, professor at Northeastern University and columnist for N'Digo stated:

"I am convinced... some element within the U.S. government or establishment actually flooded African American communities, inner city communities with drugs and guns. Since that time, black communities have been utter chaos."

Uh, I've seen Jeff Fort, and he is definitely a black man.

Jesus save us.

I don't teach in Chicago, thank whoever, but that would be hilarious if it weren't so tragic.

They already fired all the teachers at Fenger a year ago and brought in all new blood, right? Now the new blood will take the same fall? How many times can they do that before absolutely nobody will accept that job?

for anyone to say that children should be taught how to be a civilized "citizen" by an outside source other than family is a moran.

This is absolute bullshit. None of the Morans ever said such a thing. Well, maybe Tommy, but he hit his head on that mailbox on the corner of Emerald and 113th and he can't think so good ever since. I think it was one of the Caffertys that said it.

After they made our classrooms adjourning, one of our teachers opened the door at the end of class and stated "now I have done all I can to protect you -I suggest you go to the locker, get your things out as fast as you can and get out of there.
