Look at All the Money!
Mayor Daley today threw more money and police bodies at a daunting problem no closer to being solved than at any time during his 20-year tenure: the bloodbath on Chicago streets that’s destroying another generation of young people.
The videotape replayed around the world of 16-year-old Fenger High School student Derrion Albert being beaten to death during a brawl by students from rival neighborhoods has captured the attention of political leaders like so many other youth murders before it.
Each time, Daley follows a now-familiar script: He summons police and school officials to a high-level meeting, then unveils a scatter-shot program that’s part police, part mentoring and part jobs and social-services.
Today, the pattern was repeated. Only this time, Daley is hoping the results will be different.
But somehow, Shortshanks found money. Hope the arbitrator is reading the local rags.

seems like the one comment missing from the dialogue is....there simply is no solution, plain and simple...
And let us not forget that this 'high-level meeting' was conducted at lunch. At the Four Seasons restaurant.

That's right, but our elected officials and political appointees believe that all they need to do is to throw (more) money at the problem and that will solve everything. I'd love to see an accounting of how that $500,000 grant will be spent.

The solution to this problem is to make the parents responsible. Lock up the parent with the child for at least 3 mths, you will see a change in attitude toward the child's action. If there are other children let DCFS take care of them for the 3 mth period Mommy, Daddy, and poor misguided CPS student are locked up. Take away their welfare check,and give it to DCFS to care for the other children.
Put the responsibility where it belongs on the parents.
Check out the huge mob of Scandanavians that descended on Cobo Hall in Detroit when the feds decided to give away (our) money to "the homeless", some of whom drove down in Mercedes, BMW and Lexuses. You'd think they'd at least have the common decency to drive down to the river in a Michigan-made Cadillac. But, noooooooooooooooooo!

Anyone besides me notice how many of the peace protesters and mourners were dressed in their gang colors? Media doesn't have a clue about this "in your face."
They will all claim victory a month or two from now as the weather gets colder and colder. The Jody Weis factor will set in. Every cop knows that the weather saved Weis's ass this year. If this was a hot summer he would have been run out of town by now. Killings would have been through the roof. De-policing is a rampant and real phenomenon. Cops will never go back to who they were and this city is going to crash. The only thing that can save the poor citizens is the handgun ban that will be recinded. Then cops will do reports and thats it as everybody kills each other. We win again. 20 and out and a relo.
A word to Northside. Australia will only be a safe haven as long as they have a nuclear deterent and a delivery system. Once the UN takes over the USA, Australia/New Zealand will be the next target especially for the jihadists.

I wouldn't want to be on a FOOT post if a melee breaks out and get beat down in the middle of it.
What qualifies the schools that are being protected? This should be all schools because it happens every day at all of the CPS schools.
Cars down at Bogan Wednesday because they were expecting trouble.
Shooting outside of Curie yesterday at dismissal. The shooter shot into the crowd and hit the 17 year old in the hand.
Agg batt with a car club outside of Hancock school yesterday.
None of those schools are on the list.

Sorry, but you cannot MAKE people responsible when they are incapable.
Part of the reason for the single parent home is because the man is incarcerated already.
Studies have shown that in families where there is drug and/or alcohol abuse, the purchasing of the drugs and alcohol is THE priority, even before providing nourishment for their children. When funds are reduced, such as cutting available welfare monies, the children will be the ones to suffer as the adults will continue to feed their habit.
The thought that DCFS will care for any children is laughable at best! THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM, (barring the use of the controversial PERMIT TO DESTROY A WORTHLESS PERSON!).
If money can't solve all of our problems then we must really be in trouble.
Great job arne the secretary of education. LOL. Oh, I almost forgot. You were never a teacher but you had an awesome jump shot on sundays!
