Someone want to explain what's going on in Roseland?
Four people were charged this afternoon after a teen girl was critically injured during a melee in the Far South Side's Roseland neighborhood that one witness said involved up to 25 people.
Chicago police responded to 111 W. 115th St. at about 9 a.m. to a call of a disturbance...
A man who answered the phone at a nearby store said the fight broke out at about 9 a.m., just as he was opening up shop. He said the 20 to 25 people--largely teenagers--involved were punching each other and wielding bottles and bats.
The fight appeared to start when "people just started talking trash to each other," said the man, who declined to give his name.
Why does this sound familiar? Trash talk. Bats, bottles. Someone goes to the hospital in critical condition. Oh yeah - it's just under a mile from the Fenger school beating death.

See people are not surprised or in an uproar about this incident because it was not caught on video tape. Just think if every CPS dismissal was video taped all over the city, people would see how crazy these students really act. Nobody cares what we have to deal with as police officers, everyone is just outraged when a student gets beat to death!
Better yet let's throw some more money at it that should keep the "community leaders" from bitchin' bout no Police protection for my child!!!!!

From what I understand, the weapon used was a brick. Why don't the revruns organize the the willing in the community to walk around and pick up all the trash including all the weapons laying around. Clean up all the bricks, bottles, and railroad ties and you would have less property damage and personal damage. Ask the Alderman to lite a fire under the abandoned auto persons butt and ensure that the streets and san. workers pick up ALL the trash from the alleys, not just the garbage in the cans. European immigrants used to sweep the gutters and alleys because they knew that the garbage attracted vermin. Both 4 legged and 2 legged. It's time to instill some personal responsibilty all the way from the family to the institutional structures, school, church, and government. This southside problem is starting to spill out into the whole city and unless someone takes action, [MR.MAYOR/ALDERTHIEVE], you won't have a fiefdom left to oversee.

By the way, I heard a rumor downtown that the bosses are going to be making a new unit. It's going to be called the "911 Dispatch Unit." Basically it will involve blue shirted officers in squad cars driving around and if a citizen calls 911 for a complaint, such as if they've been victim of a crime, a witness to crime in progress, or the neighbors dog is barking, making to much noise, etc. They will call 911 on there phone and a police officer from the unit will be assigned to investigate. Pretty unique concept. Hope it works!

Great Fuckin Idea, they will gather info, than call the beat car to do the report. Just like all the B/S unites we have now. Squad,,,hand waver said she was just robbed can you send a paper car, Squad hold us down on lunch I I I I mean a mission squad, this may take a few hours. Get rid of all units and send them back to the districts.

This "southside" problem is just microcosm of;
1- liberal thinking
2- encouraging an expectation of people not being responsible for themselves (Grasshopper & the Ant)
3- rewarding them for it.
4- Publicly making "law-enforcement" the enemy
5- Cuttting the balls off of police authority
6- Undermining parental authority and discipline (properly used), to the extent that parents are in fear of disciplining their kids because they may be arrested on an abuse charge, and no, this probably doesn't happen in 016 or 017, or 023, but it happens in the "Hood" everyday.
7- A legal system that is overwhelmed to the point of affording too much lienency to criminals (adults and juveniles)
8- A political relationship that enables a corrupt mayor to dictate policies on matters concerning law-enforcement, that he has NO knowledge of
9- Media, rather than using an opportunity to "use their voice" to influence positive thought and action, uses it to point blame and cast dispersions, not realizing that "they" the Media are a major part of this disfunction, as evidenced in what they report, and the way they choose to report it.
So yeah, you put all that together, and you've got Chicago at it's "best". Keep rolling the way we're rolling- 20 years from now, Chicago will be the example of how a once powerful, potentially magnificant city- went to ruins
