Bears Game Signatures

A bright idea from our brain trust:
  • Petition signatures at the Bears game Sunday
There are going to be 65,000 or so people there. Figure a sizable percentage of the fans are city dwellers and a significant number of them will be registered to vote in Chicago. A bunch of dedicated volunteers might be able to snag thousands of signatures.

It's worth a shot - petitions ought to be mailed to Sgt. Northen on or before Veteran's Day. See earlier posts this week for mailing info.

There's something that says you can't solicit political stuff while at work. Hatch Act, I think.

Uh, I think most who buy (afford) tickets at bears games are from the suburbs. They could care less what city government is...

I was at a CFD promotional party yesterday at Bourban St last night and as you paid that had a sign-in sheet of wwho was there and also copies of the petition. They were all signing. At least the one that hadn't signed already.

You would be surprised how many people at the Bears game are not from Chicago. Or even from Cook County. We were collecting signatures a month ago for a county wide candidate and I would say only 1 in 5 were from Cook. Dupage, Lake, Kane, Indiana, Wisc. and from whoever they are playing.

How about a petition to limit the term for a person holding the seat of Mayor of Chicago to only 2 terms! I will sign that petition as well!
