Hang around the parking meter boxes, remind those who are paying big coin to park that rates are going up next year, thanks to aldermen pushing through the sale of parking meters. Lots of registered voters along business districts and not alot of leg work.

I'm a retiree. Where can I go to sign one of these?

I assume they are NOT lying around the district desk where I can stop in and sign. I live on the north side.

I know that the Chicago Firefighters Union Buisness Agent who represents all the downtown Chicago firefighters is circulating these petitions to his constituants. Lets see if FOP gets behind this too.

How about we start a petition to abolish the residencey requirment so younger po's and cfd can actually afford a house in a decent neighborhood to raise or start a family. If we can use the same passion for that as we have for this contact the media this is a battle we most likely can win. Look at some real estate sites see what you could get out there. You can get a he'll of a lot more bang for your buck and taxes are not much more if at all in most suburbs. Plus the money I know most po's pay for private schools. You could actually save money for your kids to go to college and actually make real money.

The more signitures that we have the better the odds are that it won't be thrown out do to bad names. If we turn in 2 or 3 times the amount , then it will be hard to find the numbers to make it invalid.

Are You F-n kidding, FLOP help out? Those candy assed chickenshits are more likely to destroy the petitions than to help circulate em. Dont do ANYTHING thru those Daley-puppets, sorry-qassed excuse for a police Union.

I said let's do a residencey petition b/c with city hall crying poor asking for furlough days etc residencey is something we can fight back with without letting them portray us as greedy to the public. I think out of everything we're asking for this is the most attainable. With crime going rampant, kids getting beaten to death at public schools our kids have to attend(unless your willing to pay college tution prices for high school) this is something I think citizens and possibly the media could understand and get behind. Why should employees have to live where their employers tell them. So they can give you a raise then raise taxes.

if this thing comes in anywhere near 100,000, that's 4 times the number needed to nominate a candidate for mayor.

Thanks all. I will be having petitions signed at a few L stops in the next few days. If I get the courage, may even do it in front of city hall.

To all those suggesting additional petitions, let's FOCUS on this one! Or start your own. Let's see if we can truly make our voices heard before running all over the place with five different petitions.
