Bob, you're wasting time. An indicted-soon-to-be-convicted felon is running circles around you:
So much for a rookie alderman’s plan to establish terms limits and pay cuts for Chicago Police Board members, force them to explain their disciplinary actions against police officers and penalize board members for poor attendance.
The reform plan drafted by Ald. Robert Fioretti (2nd) with an assist from the Chicago Justice Project was stalled today amid opposition from Police Committee Chairman Isaac Carothers (29th).
Carothers specifically objected to the draconian pay cut and to Fioretti’s plan to force Police Board members who miss three meetings in a calendar year or fail to vote 15 percent of the time to forfeit their seats.
Bob tries to stop Felony Franks from advertising, attempts to stop drug sales by outlawing zip-loc baggies, and now is attempting to hold nine people responsible for their "decisions." Nine people who are not elected, but are directly appointed by the mayor. Let's repeat that:

We just want to point out that there is no "layer of protection" or "fall guys" between the mayor and these appointees, a rarity in the Shortshanks administration. These appointees are all answerable to one person and owe their existence to one person. If something scandalous was to occur (or had occurred), then the buck has only one place to stop.

How is it possible the indicted Isaac Carothers is STILL in charge of the Police/Fire committee???
If a cop or fireman was indicted or under investigation we would be stripped of our powers and salary!

Alderman Fioretti is/was part of that block of nine Aldermen who ousted some of the more loyal Mayoral patsies.
Is Bob flexing his guns? Is it possible that the Aldermen know there is blood in the water?
Ike Carothers was left strategically in place by Daley to defuse this emerging scandal. Ike can placate the Reverends and the African American community for Daley while retaining a check and hoping to gain some much needed favors.
Daley is an expert at exploitation and defusion of scandal. He knows Ike is finished and will use him until he is convicted and removed from office.
There are a few surprises on the horizon though.
Just how much does a Police Board member make?
Is it a full-time job or a part-time gig, like ALDERMAN?
Either way, can I get a job where I don't have to show up and still make the salary?

How about term limits and a recall referendum initiative for da Mare and his 50 thieves.
The US Dept. of Justice's largest investigative branch outside of DC is right here in the City of Chicago. Of course, they have a lot on their plate, with the likes of allegedly mob-run Rosemont and Cicero in their jurisdiction, besides the Daley/Burke/Madigan Crime Family.
Only in Chicago will you find a federally INDICTED politician in charge of the city councils' Police and Fire Committee. It's a slap in the face of all of Chicago's Finest and Bravest and SHOULD BE humiliating to our Mayor and every member of the City Council, not to mention the citizens of this city!
In the Land of Daley, however, things are just fine, thank you. The indicted Alderscum Ike Carothers has no shame, much like the previous 31 Aldermen who've been convicted and imprisoned for corruption in the last 36 years. Fully 20% of Chicago Aldermen elected since 1970 have been convicted of a crime in federal corruption cases!
And, as shocking as that may be, four out of eight of Illinois' past governers ended up in jail!
However, we all await the indictment of the biggest criminal in Chicago history, the Godfather himself, Richard M. Daley. And after you get him, you'll probably also have enough to imprison his nephew, Robert Vanecko, and son Patrick Daley, who is already hiding out in Moscow, waiting for the statute of limitations to expire on other corruption cases.
The police board is full of cronys that will do whatever the mayor wants, and what he wants now is to cut the budget. You are his top priority. If he can get rid of everybody with time on and save the city money by hiring a recruit instead. Then guess what. see ya...
Keep sticking your necks out see what it gets you. They rightly gave Cozzi a two year suspension but now officers are getting fired for bullshit and they have to sue the city. Stay tuned.

DITTO. I was thinking the same thing. Having IC in charge of the Police while he has been indicted for CRIMINAL activity is a total farce. What's with city hall, can't they even realize this???
If a high ranking police officer or ay other officer for that matter were indicted they wouldn't be making ANY executive decisions and would be re-routed to 311 land.
Will Ike still get a city pension if indicted? Bet a quarter to a nickle he does!

The aldercreatures do nothing but spend taxpayer's money, steal, lie and waste time creating bullshit ordinances. The City council attempted to pass an ordinance that would limit the number of dogs one household could have. This measure was blocked by northside dog lovers. What a waste!

Office, do you really think that every officer that got their job back, paid up or pulled a fast one? You seem very angry. Did you get 30p and get fucked over there by losing your job. Do you think that there is a chance that officers get cases put on them by gang bangers and shit heads, only to be investigated by someone looking to make a name for themselves. I think you should take a deep breath and rethink what you posted. Maybe you need a vacation to regroup. Keep safe out officer and do not over think this one.
