More Vaccine Recalls?

Just fill the bottles with sugar water it would all be the same:
  • Drugmaker MedImmune is recalling nearly 5 million doses of swine flu vaccine because the nasal spray appears to lose strength over time, federal health officials announced Tuesday.

The vaccine recall is the second this month caused by declining potency and comes as public health officials urge millions of Americans to get vaccinated against swine flu.

So we have British and French owned companies supplying vaccines that necessitate massive recalls partway into flu season? Should this be some sort of national security issue? We're just curious.

Will the Obama administration rush to quell the public's fears/questions/concerns regarding the piss-poor efficacy and shelf-life of the H1N1 vaccine with the same voracity they exhibited when they scared an ignorant populace into believing the inoculation was in their best interest ?

Doubt it.

Fear is a hell of motivator, especially when that fear is perpetuated by government. How many millions of sheep stood in line waiting to get a vaccine that was pretty-much developed overnight and unproven? Not to mention mass-produced in countries other than the USA? Why anyone with an ounce of grey matter would allow themselves or their children to be injected with that shit is beyond me.

I want to know who got rich off of this deal. What pharmaceutical companies stock price quadrupled after the "swine flu" was masqueraded by our government as the next plague when in actuality it is no more lethal than the "regular" strain of influenza in people who don't have underlying, chronic health conditions?

I smell a rat. A rat bigger than any Arthur Andersen or Enron Rat. I hope all those dummies that were cajoled into getting the H1N1 vaccine don't develop any kind of weird Agent Orange-type symptoms 15 or 20 years from now. Makes me very thankful I didn't let the medical professional in my life talk me into getting the shot for the kids or myself.

What better way to introduce a virus than to have Uncle Sam immunize you?

Get used to it. This is what communist countries had to deal with for years. That's why there aren't any left in Europe.

When your goal is to take care of everyone and your mantra is, "To each according to his needs, from each according to his abilities," then you get shit for output.

From each according to his abilities would leave the ghetto rats of Chicago in charge of things that are probably too important for them to be messing with. Quality will got into the toilet.

You wanted hope and change? Well you got it. How's if feeling for you?

Look Out! everyone. Per WGN news as I type this, a dog in New York supposedly has developed the H1N1 flu strain.

I foresee the President urging all good Americans to get in line with their canine companions to get the shot when the POTUS makes his next weekly address.

***********

Far fetched, but it sounds completely believable. I don't put anything past the government. By making it 'free', they have certainly innoculated the entire ghetto by now. Maybe this is a plan to quell the population?

Yep. As a Police professional, you are much better qualified to make that call. All those years on the street certainly give you the information you need to disregard any advice from your 'medical professional' who spent years in the medical profession.

Was it over blown? Probably. Should you have given your kids a shot? Probably. Did enough people get the shot to keep it from being a big deal for the country? Who knows.

Bottom line is: in the scope of things it was not a big deal. Vast conspiracy? You watched to much X-Files over the years.

Of course, those drug companies have already been paid huge money from our Government.

Will the G get a rebate? They'll demand one, but will they?

why would you want to be immunized with a vaccine that has a low rate of preventing a disease that for most people is very mild?

spend a day or two in bed and get over it.

In Chicago, crime and crossing a traffic signal street safely are my top concerns.

A foreign (or even a US) made shot won't stop me from contracting swine flu.

How is the US Government going to run health care, when it can't even produce "regular" flu and swine flu shots? It seems every (or every other) year, there is a shortage of flu shots and/or something is wrong with them.

Also, there's too much reliance on pills and shots for every "minute" ailment. Sometimes, one has to wait "it" out.
