Pat Quinn for Senate!
Wait a minute - this seems crooked, even by Illinois loose standards:
Even as he runs to hold on to his job in Tuesday's primary, Gov. Pat Quinn is still raising money for a U.S. Senate campaign he lost in 1996.
The continuation of the "Pat Quinn for U.S. Senate" fund, 14 years after his Senate race was done, is unusual even in the heard-it-all world of campaign finance.
Quinn has kept the fund alive by pumping in a series of personal loans and then soliciting political donations so he can pay himself back, at interest rates approaching 10 percent. The end result is that Quinn has made at least $24,000 in interest from the campaign fund he controls, according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission.

So, vote him out. This isn't rocket science.
QUACK!VOTE HIM IN!WOW!!!
Remember that a person can convert campaign funds to personal funds, and then declares the $ as normal income and then just has to pay personal income tax on the dough. Campaign financing is the biggest scam in this country. Thomas Jefferson is spinning fast enough to power the state of California for decades. And then the SCOTUS declares business and unions can give as much as they like. Think that's all for "good government?" Keep dreaming.
DODGED THE DRAFT FOR NAM AND A NOT A FRIEND OF VETERANS!!!
Off Topic - I just did a retro calculation for myself using actual payroll information that I have kept. I compared my number to Five Frank's calculation and the numbers were pretty close. Now hopefully we will get a retro. Back each other up and god bless the CPD.

What are you babbling about? The SCOTUS decision you refer to involves paid for political adds run by corporations. The candidates see no $$$$.

Campaign contributions are legalized bribes. Nothing more, nothing less.

Anyone who cares: Judge Epstein was Jeremaih Mearday's lawyer and then became a judge in Skokie. He hates the police-anyone who has to deal with this guy at the skokie courthouse can tell you this. Do not vote for this guy!

This was more of a Free speech decision than anything else.
Just because you incorpoprated your business did mot lessen your right to free speech
Plus, correct me if Im wrong, unions and media were exempt until now.
The time has come. Vote like your life depends on it. Because it does.
No 3rd of july fireworks.YAY!
OffTopic: Chicago just announced it's cancelling the 03 July fireworks. I smell another 'cost-cutting' trade-off coming. There is NO way he'll cancel the fireworks; it brings in too much money/tourists.
If he thinks his popularity rating is low now, wait til THIS hits.
Me, I don't care; I won't miss the extra million people draining the City's services that night, or the violence so many of them bring.
The Chicago Mayor's Office of Special Events has decided to cancel the longtime July 3 fireworks celebration in Grant Park, instead opting to organize three smaller fireworks on July 4 at the lakefront. thank god!!
From the Sun-Times:
21st District: Democratic state Rep. Michael Zalewski is a freshman legislator whose father is a Chicago alderman and whose sister and wife hold government jobs. As you might expect from that, he has a low profile in Springfield and makes no trouble for House Speaker Mike Madigan. We believe this district on the Southwest Side and nearby suburbs would be best served by a fresh, energetic voice, so we back Terrence Collins of Chicago. An attorney with the Chicago Police Department, Collins says he would oppose raising taxes, back a two-tiered pension system and support ethics reforms in Springfield.
Zalewski supporters tried to get private information about Collins from police computer files. This is the kind of ugly politics voters should punish. Unopposed in the GOP primary is Jeffrey P. Malinowski, suspected of being a Democratic ploy to discourage real Republican opposition to Zalewski.
I worked with Terry in patrol. A regular, self-made guy who would be an asset in Springfield for all CPD members. Please consider him on Tuesday.
Quinn the Reformer, what a sick joke this entire state of corruption is.
QUINN= SHIT ON A SHOE...
