Are all the scientist’s, who believe in global warming liberal? It’s hard for me to believe that all of them are liberal whack jobs? But anyone who believes the abundant science which indicates global warming could be a real issue are considered liberal idiot alarmist freaks. But a London tabloid and a few lawyers bogging about a cold winter are champions of truth. The snow house has convinced me that there are no environmental issues. Love the snow house. Great stuff.
Are there a FEW scientists who disagree with global warming? Yes but it's about the same ratio of those that disagree with evolution. Ow and they claim to have data to back them up too. The vast majority of legit scientist are sure of what is happening. Hey I'm all for gun rights and the fall of Daley and most other things on this site. But you guys are way off base on this one. Science is not a left or right argument.
We just need to get off of the oil tit. Not so much for the "green" aspect, but economic preservation. China is the puppet master now. Buy "American made", they are hard to find, but put in the effort to seek those products out.
But SCC, how am I going to make money charging people for their carbon footprints? How can I and my fellow Dumbocrats pretend to be green while flying around in planes burning thousands of gallons of fossil fuel to tell people how we think they should live?

Wasn’t there plenty of science that debunked the theory that cigarettes are bad for your lungs? All special interests have their own people that craft data to their own liking. Time will tell. But given the consequences isn't caution prudent?

SCC I really love you guys ... seriously, the number of people in the United States (world) is increasing not decreasing? Population equals waste / garbage. If we fill up land fills just as fast as we can dig them there will be a time when there isn’t any more SPACE to dig. If we start being conservative on what we put in those land fills we could get some extra mileage out of them. Styrofoam trays don’t just disintegrate in a land fill. It takes more than FIFTY years for a single Styrofoam tray to break down. It takes more than 100 years for diapers to breakdown. You do the math, all those diapers and Styrofoam equals space. If you don’t believe what I’m writing ask your self this … You can probably remember years and years ago McDonald’s used Styrofoam containers for all their hamburgers. Why don’t they use them anymore????
Conservation has to be the way of the future, there is just no other alternative.

I could not agree with you more SCC.
However I know a lot of friends and family who have been brainwashed by the MSM. There is a lot of work to be done to re-educate the Public.
There can be no legitimate debate regarding the FACT that the world has been warming up in recent decades.
What can be debated is the reasons behind it.
It may just be a natural process or it may be an effect caused by man or some combo of both.
If it continues you can expect more snow in the short term and then later less snow as we approach a climate like southern Illinois.
Personally, I like the climate of southern Illinois. Give me a warmer climate on Lake Michigan, a new Mayor and a gaggle of hookers and I'd be one happy retired cop.

The question should be "Why aren't you upset about all this crap?" We've always addressed issues that interest us - it's in our profile page. We aren't a one-trick pony. And we're more than a little irritated that our government is willing to spend many trillions of our dollars on bullshit that is meant to enrich certain politicians, companies and organizations that can't, won't and don't stand up to the simplest scrutiny of fact. If you want to be that beholden to special interests, move to Canada or Europe. We don't want that for us, our kids or our grandkids.

They "all" aren't. Many are growing. Try reading some papers on it. That study that said all the Himalayan glaciers would be gone by mid-century? All made up bullshit with no basis in any study.
No one knows how much or how little glacier coverage should be. As comment #2 says, Greenland was named Greenland for a reason - no glaciers. That was it's natural state a thousand years ago. It's a cycle.

But we aren't filling them up as fast as we used to. Recycling makes economic sense finally in many aspects. We aren't saying and have never said "stop digging landfills" or "just throw away everything." Responsible use of the resources we have is an intelligent thing to do.
But not building landfills isn't intelligent. As we stated, all the landfill space in the USA currently in use adds up to something like one-sixth the space of New Jersey. That is nothing and it's irresponsible to pretend we're "out of space." Recycle, reduce, reuse, incinerate, compact and you stretch existing capacity for centuries.

There has been ZERO global warming since 1995.
The Middle Ages warming period, which was much warmer and much longer in duration than recent centuries, took place when the earth was much less populated than today and less polluted. So how does that work into the greenie argument that man-made carbon emissions are the sole cause of warming when there weren't any cars in the Middle Ages?
The fact is that understanding global climate change is a science in its infancy. No one is sure of anything except it changes and it's unpredictable. And changing the entire economy based on "feeling" rather than "fact" is going to cost every nation money that could be used to alleviate more pressing and truly solvable problems.
Time will tell. But given the consequences isn't caution prudent?

Not at the expense of our economy. We are in enough trouble. Keep giving the other countries a leg up with this B.S. science. Keep putting nonsense taxes on the U.S. for it when no other country does and we are sunk.

With that said, I do not believe in Global Warming. Weather is a cycle and always has been.
Also, you have to understand that weather has not been properly documented or accurate until the 1970s. Kind of bugs me when Tom Skilling says , "This hasn't happened in 100 years of weather keeping!" Tom should know better, anything after the 1970s isn't all that accurate!
