Cozzi Billboard

The boys and girls over in 025 and Area 5 have outdone themselves.

A rather sizable billboard has just been unveiled behind the station supporting Bill Cozzi

The board is a show of support for Bill, containing no political overtones. The creator's intent is this:
  • We do not condone the original incident , but we stand in agreement as to the miscarriage of justice that has befallen Bill. being charged twice for the same crime is excessive and the only reason that this has happened to Bill is because of his being a Chicago police officer and someone wanting to kick start their career here in Chicago.
The billboard is directly behind 025 and can be viewed best while driving southbound on Central from Grand.

Ah, perhaps now is the time to retell the tale of 025, from it's notorious beginnings, to it's long and fabled history of scandal, heartbreak, tragedy, and hopefully soon, it's redemption. It's time to reveal this district's Genesis so that the two-year blunders, along with southsiders are aware of a legacy that was written in blood about 30 years ago.......

A new district was formed back in the early eighties. It was up to the Commanders of the other districts to send warriors from there mighty legions to fill the new station so that the citizens in the area had protection from evil. This was before a union remember, so they had the chance to be fair and send some of the best Spartans under their command to help the young offspring district grow into a mighty mecca of virtue and pride.

Unfortunately, the Commanders were not fair, but they were pretty devious. Each Boss decided to use this to their advantage and banish all the riff-raff that had polluted their districts. Soon the 025th station was filled with police officers that were rogues, gangsters, psychos, murderers, gypsies, tramps, and thieves. Plus the fact that the newly built station was constructed on top of an Indian burial ground of the Wheredafucrwe Tribe, even Stevie Wonder could see that trouble was a brewing.

Since then the scandals have been numerous. Still, studies show that 95% of officers that have bidded out, later regretted it. It never has any openings, cops have fought tooth and nail to join the fighting 025th district.

It's officers have some of the best senses of humor in the whole country. From the Gallows publications, to the psychological torturing of Willie the Whale, 025th district cops abound with humor.

Loyalty is another strong suit. A prime example is this billboard honoring their fellow brother officer that had the misfortune of serving under a pussy fed Supernintendo that has a head that resembles a chewed up Quarterpounder from McDonald's.

Stay strong 025th district officers, you always have......I still miss impound court;-(

I was present at one of weis' early town meetings and weis took full credit for Cozzi's federal indictment and eventual imprisonment and said he felt it was the right thing to do.

For weis now to say he had nothing to do with it is a complete lie.

Love it. But in all this media discussion about Cozzi, the papers stopped short of mentioning two things: That the "victim" was a drunken unruly asshole causing trouble in a hospital (and was not handicapped but in a wheelchair to subdue him) and that Mr. Cozzi was exiled to HELL in some hot humid hole to suffer without even the benefit of Holy Communion, while our elected officials are sent to country clubs nice and close to Chicago.

They should have said that!

Bravo!

Well Done!

This is as a good a sign (no pun intended) as any to all those willfully ignorant and uninformed people who along with j-fled have the nerve to slam CPD for "always bringing up that Cozzi guy."

Newsflash...

Chicago Police Officers do not run and leave their brothers to be forgotten. Especially a brother who was so grievously injured and made an example of by someone looking to score political points and portray himself as a Police Punisher extrordinaire to rein in the "out of control" (not by a long shot mind you, just the feverish chorus repeated ad nauseam by the Daley Inc. media control/spin and brain washing apparatus) CPD.

In the aftermath of the march at HQ, the hills were alive with the sound of shit-talk regarding the "Free Cozzi" signage. "Corrupt cops protecting a corrupt cop..." yadda yadda... These same people are the ones who would provide material aid and support for mumia jamal/westley cook who is a known and notorious cop killer who should have been sent to his reward in hell but continues to steal oxygen.

These same people have the utter unmitigated gall to begrudge us supporting Bill Cozzi?

J-fled should know that his little experiment in terror was a catastrophic failure resulting in a near total shut down of CPD.

We despise j-fled because we know him to be a rank and callow coward who is a stink in the nostrils of any COPPER worth their star.

This fiasco gives truth to what is always said about how a Policeman's day can go. "7 hours, 55 minutes of routine, 5 minutes of wtf."

Five bad minutes out of an eight hour day is sufficient to ruin a man's life.

This is why feebs as municipal police MANAGERS (Chief and superintendent are honorifics they're not worthy of) are seen as a poor fit. Everything for the the feebs is rehearsed, scripted and cut into bite sized chunks so no one chokes.

The worthy Police BOSS who earned his lumps and bruises knows that Policing is unscripted, chaotic, bloody, shitty, gruesome and in this day and age not so rewarding due to media headhunting and the like. Armed with this knowledge he governs himself and his agency accordingly and the buck stops with HIM.

So...

We despise j-fled because he and his ilk RAN FROM GUNFIRE and left Det. Airhart badly wounded and defenseless with his captor.

He also ran from the sound of gunfire at a televised news conference in which had he responded as the Police Superintendent he represents himself to be, he perhaps could have been vital in apprehending the offender in a still unsolved homicide.

J-fled and the Daley Inc. media control/spin & brain washing apparatus wants us to turn our backs on and forget about what he did to Cozzi?

Not happenin' podnah!
We don't leave OURS behind.
Stay Strong Bill.

We got this...

To those of you who claim not to care what the public thinks, let me ask you this. HOW DID WE GET WEISS IN THE FIRST PLACE? Public perception at the time was that CPD was out of control with scandals. While this was bs and part of a smear campaign perpetuated by politicians and the media, LOOK WHAT HAPPENED! I don't place any personal value in it, but as far as CPD is concerned, public opinion does matter! I agree 100% that Cozzi got screwed. Try explaining this to your non-police friends (finding friends without ties to the dept will be difficult for some). Try to explain how this event effects police productivity. Good luck! Support Cozzi by sending him letters and care packages. Like the march, I don't agree with the choice of media used for this message of support. It gives Weiss and his supporters ammunition. Now take a slow deep breath and exhale.

How about a Cozzi Billboard across from the FBI Office Building on Roosevelt ??? And another within a block of J-Fleds residence???? So he has to see it all the time. How about one that he would see if he looked out his office window at H.Q; aka, the land of the Lost.

TRENDING: Rep. Jackson 'deeply sorry,' admits 'social acquaintance '
Posted: September 21st, 2010 10:24 PM ET

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. said he is 'deeply sorry' regarding a 'social acquaintance' that may have disappointed some supporters.
(CNN) – A Chicago businessman told federal investigators that Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. asked him to pay for a Washington, D.C. restaurant hostess to fly between Washington and Chicago multiple times, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Tuesday.

Jackson told the paper he was "deeply sorry" that he had "disappointed some supporters," in a written statement.

"The reference to a social acquaintance is a private and personal matter between me and my wife that was handled some time ago. I ask that you respect our privacy," Jackson said in his statement.

Jackson's wife also appealed for privacy in a statement to the Chicago Tribune.

I support Bill and have written him, I think this may give J-Fled what he needs. He will use this (and anything or anyone) to justify his position to clean up the department.
This is a heartfelt message to Bill but it will backfire on CPD. The public only sees the U-Tube video and doesnt know the details of the story, nor, do they care. Great intention, bad idea.

Bill Cozzi is the despicable J-Fled's sacrificial lamb. The combative "victim" was able-bodied ("wheelchair"), shouting, spitting and wreaking havoc throughout the entire emergency room. He was not even injured.

Bill made a mistake and paid dearly (2 year suspension, apology and guilty plea to misdemeanor) for it.

And then along came J-Fled...

Bill Cozzi is a sacrificial lamb who is paying for the sins of past out of control officers. Notice how there are fewer and fewer news stories of druken off-duty cops doing stupid shit. Everyone is finally wiseing up to the fact society is not going to tolerate police officers acting like fools anymore. Bill was thrown to the wolves to prove a point and the message now seems clear. Watch your backs boys and girls!

9/21/2010 08:13:00 PM

Please don't give Jfled an ounce of credit for any reduction in officer's transgressions. Your post sounds to give credence to what Jfled did. Don't mix apples and oranges. What happened to Cozzi is unprecedented and should never have happened.

He paid his punishment and was fucked again by Jfled, period.

You can't fold your tent and just accept that civilians will never understand what is wrong here. One needs to keep shoving it to the forefront over and over and over until the good people get the message.

We can't continue to allow the corrupt liberal media and the corrupt CPD leadership to define the message.

The best way is to obtain a professional public relations firm to prepare a short message and video that tells the truth of this incident...that cops are under siege, that we are driven by the immediacy of incidents to control situations, that we are subject to pressures of those on the scene that are depending on us and demanding for us to take control, and most importantly that we don't support slapping someone but that he WAS NOT BEATEN, WAS NOT A CRIPPLE and WAS NOT SERIOUSLY HURT!!

Yes, people know what happened. No, it isn't necessary to post every damned thing that happens in the world on this blog. Everything is fine. Move on.

A BIG THANKS to Bob Cavaiani, you are THE MAN! Way to support our wronged Brother!
I see they also mentioned that it cost $3500. I don't know how much was collected, but I bet it was nowhere near that much. So, do what I'm gonna do - call 025 on 3rd Watch and ask how we can get Bob some cash.

Nice to see the coverage on channel 2 today, but, Suzanne, Mr. Weis has NOT "always maintained he never referred the case to the FBI".

Mr. Weis PUBLICLY stated, at one of his early 'town hall' meetings with police officers, that he did, in fact, refer the file to the FBI, prior to his actually becoming superintendent.

Gotta wonder how he even had ACCESS to Cozzi's file before he even started working here, don't you?

More billboards are needed to get the message out to the public that THEY are in danger because of J-fled and his fuckery. He screwed Cozzi and he should pay for it every day of his employment with CPD and hopefully beyond.

Where can we contribute for the next billboard?

Well alot I said wasnt put on due to length but I will say that this news reporter was pro police.

In the piece I acknowledged all the men and women both sworn and civilian who helped us reach our goal in such a short time.

I told her that we are an amazing family and we always come to each others aid when necessary.

I told her what kind of guy Bill really is but of course that wasnt put on the piece.

I want to thank all of the fine people and just let you know how proud I am to be a part of this police family.

You all are an amazing group of individuals and my life is blessed just being a part of the police family.

Please take care of one another and write Bill, let him know we are here waiting for him. Keep him motivated and his spritis high.

One thing cannot be overshadowed. That is the fact that the billboard, the interview, the message would not have happened if you all didnt make it happen. You all did this and you all are incredible and generous and caring.

There are alot of people to thank but all the guys and gals that work in the building at 5555 w grand you are all incredible.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart and Bill and his family thank you all also.

we wait for Bill to come home and hopefully it will be sooner than later.

Thanks Thanks Thanks
and Free Bill Cozzi

That's part of the problem. The Police don't exist to cater to the everchanging whims of the public. We exist to enforce The Law, ensure order, put bad/evil individuals in jail, in prison or six feet underground in a pine box and save those lacking in sense and judgement from being harmed, harming themselves or harming others.

This whole Public Servant "dignity and grace" is a PC sop with very little relevance in this current era of people comfortably numb in the herd mentality.

You so badly want the Police not to get angry, fed up, pissed-off, alienated because of the foolishness they have to endure but when the Police do decide they've had enough and push back, you and your ilk scream "no no, you knew it was like this when you took the job, if you can't take it quit." THAT IS A DISINGENUOUS AND MENTALLY LAZY RESPONSE!

Policemen are walking around half-dead from grief, aggravation and frustration.

Ugly mentality?

You're obviously, willfully ignorant and naive as to what is going on here.

Like the Officer said, walk in our Danners before you judge us on how we think and feel.

Cops are humans dealing with stuff that would give you and your herdmates the living terrors.

See, hear, taste, smell and do what a Policeman does for 20 to 40+ years.

Close your eyes to sleep and still see the dead and dying marching in a macabre parade.

With all due respect... Cease with the shit-talk and work with us on making things right in this city or just step out of the way. In either case, we're not your cuddly humble servants to be heaped with abuse for sport as it is popularly assumed.

Not humbled.

Not anybody's damned servant.

Proud.

Principled.

Integrity intact today, tomorrow and always.

CPD.

We're few in numbers but damn it we still come runnin' when you call...

We've earned to right to a ugly mentality... It keeps us alive.

As a very Pro-CPD citizen and SSC reader, I deeply regret the overjealous persecution of Bill Cozzi. That said, the video of him beating a man in a wheelchair is all over You Tube. The billboard does not make sense to Joe public. People are visual sheep. They see a cop beating a restrained man in a wheelchair. Period. Then they see the CPD putting up a billboard to get this seemingly "brutal" cop out of jail. It's a PR nightmare, CPD.

I am genuinely touched by your loyalty to fellow officers. Mr. Cozzi is likely in hell in jail. I am so glad he has your support because it sounds like it is helping him get through his incarceration. But the public only sees that video playing over and over.

How bout an on camera interview with Bill, Bill's family and a list of the guy in the wheel chair's rap sheet. Let people know the guy was drunk and can walk. Get some PR folks to help you spin this better than you are. I know you have enough on your plate to deal with, but if you want public support, you gotta give the yuppies and iPhone carrying liberals something to work with.

Mr.Cozzi's true crime was being caught on camera. Unfortunately, now that day, that moment, is immortalized on You Tube forever.

If you really want to help Mr. Cozzi, the CPD and get rid of Weis, get help spinning your message. Think beyond the emo support for Mr. Cozzi to the bigger picture. Show the public the real story. Fight You Tube video with You Tube video.

Don't care about the iPhone waving bleeding heart liberals? You should. They vote. In droves. Make 'em bleed their hearts for the CPD.

A concerned Chicago citizen, supporter of CPD and somewhat media saavy, non iPhone carrying, former bleeding heart, now much more conservative, Independant voter
