Ambulance Cuts

We blame Daley for this - evidently, it's cheaper to walk to the hospital:
  • A man shot in the South Chicago neighborhood early Sunday later walked into a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The shooting happened about 12:15 a.m. on the 8700 block of South Kingston Avenue, according to police News Affairs [...]. The 18-year-old victim was walking when he was shot by an unknown offender who fled the scene. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to the shoulder and arm and later walked into Advocate Trinity Hospital for treatment,...

Plus, it completely distorts time lines, crime scenes and let's witnesses hide or alter stories. Got to maintain the "no snitching" policy.

Fuck dude at 87th/Kingston. He can walk, survive, and be out retaliating tomorrow.

The problem comes when your family can't get an ambulance because they're all down triaging savages.

...and yes, Daley is to blame.

It's just all BS, SCC--half the time the folks who roll up at hospitals shot know exactly who did it, and WHY.
I'm all for these assholes NOT wasting precious ambulance service...if they don't want to draw attention to who shot them, so be it. Bleed out, drop dead in the street...if some of these so-called victims go through all that trouble NOT to reveal the shooter's identity, why should we work so hard to resolve it? Even if we are able to catch them, it's not like even half of these victims will ever come to court. Even when the few do appear, their own criminal histories actually hurt the case (and their credibility) more than help it. About all we as law enforcement professionals are able to do in most of these cases is to to simply document who, what, where and, if possible, WHY, and move on to the next case. What we should do, is to accomplish this as quickly as possible so as not to be too tied down when a case rolls around in which we can work together to put some serious bad guys inside of a prison cell for as long as possible.

Oaklawn has paramedics cruising around on bicycles now. Midget will come up with that next to save money on gas. Perhaps cpd and cfd can ride tandem.

Not to mention how many ambulances are busy picking up some Eurotrash drunk off the sidewalk, that will sleep it off in a hospital hallway. I can not even imagine how much that costs in a fiscal year.

They should not send ambulances for the animals anyway, let them take the bus to the hospital why waste anymore money,if they die on the street that is a bonus that would be "Saving you more money at St. Bernards"!

If you would begin to understand the current economic crisis, mine this rich vein -- a Google search on the phrase "monetization of debt."

You can see it in the real estate crash. Mortgages -- debts, obligations -- were bundled up and sold as though they were a tangible, usable commodity like wheat or corn. Collection agencies also buy and sell debt -- trading in it as though it were actual money.

Odds are he/she wasn't a cop anyhow. It's common knowledge that many of us have cheapened our reputations by whoring out the medallions and hat braids to many a baby mama, or her little dop pusher/lowlife kid. You can't believe what you see when you see these 'symbols' on the cars now.
Thank God I never bothered to put any of that 'hey I'm a cop' crap on my personal auto.

Thats the same for the guy that was shot twice in a nine hour period. After the 1st shooting he took the bus to U of C to get treatment.

I still say that it is a real good thing that he wasn't an CPS Honor student or he would be dead by now.

Hey buddy but down the bottle. 52 is located @ 1800 N Pulaski & I don't consider that the west side. But on the REAL west side you have Ambo 10,15,23,33,34,44,45&83.
And if you are in 25 and say that you work the west side, then there is also Ambo 7,20&82 all right by the station.

Next thing we know you will be telling us that you work the

The CFD has already been using them on bike & segways for years now. And I also remember yrs ago they were on motorcycles & used to get to the scene of an accident on the x-way fast because they could weave thru stopped traffic.

Apparently you don't work the "west side" because while 52 covers a very small portion of the west side but mostly humblodt park, amb 10,11,33 cover the entire west side in 015,011,010. So maybe if you came outta the hole once in a while you would know this

Most of the people I run across with the hatband hanging from the mirror are NOT the police. Those that are turn out to be real strokes. It's almost guaranteed.
