A Gang Press Conference? (CONFIRMED)
- The subjects of J-Fled's "Gang Meeting" are holding their own press conference with their lawyers to decry the fact they were forced to attend a meeting under the threat of a parole violation.

- A group who claims to be made up of Chicago gang leaders says it is so angry about a threatened police crackdown it is going public. The so-called gang leaders have scheduled a news conference and even notified the media with a press release from a public relations firm.
It comes after police superintendent Jody Weis issued a warning to reputed gang leaders at a meeting last month.
As some elected officials criticize Weis for the meeting, some of the purported gang leaders are saying they were tricked into the meeting and have no plans to respond to what they call the superintendent's threats.
U.S. Attorney Pat Fitzgerald says he supports police using creative strategy to fight crime but it's not something his office would try.
"We are not negotiating with anyone. Anyone who thinks that anyone has a pass to commit crimes in this city is wrong. The federal government goes after drugs, guns and gangs," said Fitzgerald.

How about just getting rid of the Central Control Group's Deputy Chief position anyway? It's just a made up spot for clouted/connected people. It would save some money and put a couple more coppers back on the street. Yes Kennedy is a good/fair guy but he is just one of the many clouted people on this job.

As funny as this is, the truth is that if you seriously wanted to negotiate with the opposition you do it from a position of strength. We are not strong. The department is a shell of itself, as described by Lt. Andrews. The other side is not stupid and clearly view this as an act of desperation. It could, quite possibly, have the effect of emboldening the gangs to put pressure on government, and not just the political pressure of a press conference they put on today(Thurs.), by inviting their minions to greater violence, in the knowledge that THEY run it! This was not well thought. When they point to other cities as examples of this approach they point to Dept.'s that were at full strength when it was done, and not in the middle of our current economic problem. You may as well say to them: "We'll pay you. You patrol the hood, as long as there's less murders. And we'll pull the po-po off your back. Deal?"
The funny thing is... The gangbangers are so fucking stupid that they only took action (press conference/attroneys etc...) AFTER it was made public... why didnt they say/do anything before that point? Did "someone" from within the department leak this brainstorm of an idea to the press.... Kennedy is nothing but a product of Mauer. Him and Georgie boy were taken care of from the beginning, admin sgt's for Mauer while "studying" for the Lt's exam (this is where the term "secret study group" originated, Mauer developed the test). His old man used to be Mauer's drinking buddy. He is clout all the way. Chicago - A community CAPS meeting with police on the West Side was cancelled when a shooting happened just a few blocks away.
Officers at the meeting rushed to respond to the scene in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. Four people were shot at Iowa and Karlov.
The victims are reportedly men in their early to mid-twenties.
Two are said to be in fair condition, one in serious condition. The condition of the fourth man is unclear.
Witnesses described hearing five or six shots and the sound of motorcycles.
Police say the general area has had 17 shootings since last Frida
A bit off topic but equally as ridiculous.Has anyone heard about the burglary "seminary" that is being held by the 019th district CAPS office in order to give the folk in Lakeview and surrounding areas the illusion that CPD actually cares about them. As an aside, guess who the guest speakers are going to be...burglars. Two questons that should be asked are:
1. Why are there 2 Sgts and 1 Lt. in the district needed to run CAPS? and are they doing street work as well, or just CAPS?
2. Did anyone check how many times the "guest speakers" had been arrested and when was their last arrest? (Give them five years, but I'd feel more comfortable with ten.)P.S. for the civilian attendees; don't put your addresses on any forms handed to you during the meeting. The guest speakers might be reviewing them. After all,you are from good neighborhoods where the only crime problem is OMG!!!burglary.
