Shortshanks Defends J-Fled

First, the aldercreatures begin to pile on:
  • Ald. Bob Fioretti (2nd), who is mulling a race for mayor, and Ald. Joe Moore (49th), one of Mayor Daley's most outspoken critics, said the secret session disguised as a routine parole meeting was tantamount to waving the white flag.

"I can't believe we're sitting down and negotiating with urban terrorists who are killing our kids with guns and drugs on the streets," Fioretti said.

"These are not people the superintendent ought to be negotiating with. They've now been elevated to equals. They're not equals. They belong in jail. It's an admission that the Police Department can't control the streets."

  • "What kind of approach is it to say, 'Cut the violence or else we're gonna go after you with everything we have?' What have you been doing for the last three, four, five years?" the alderman said.
  • [Ald. Joe] Moore branded the secret session a "desperation tactic" that's "kind of like meeting with terrorists." He argued that it accomplishes nothing other than to embolden gang leaders.

"What would accomplish more is to have a Police Department with good morale that believed in their leadership and believed in their mayor. We haven't had a Police Department with that kind of leadership in 22 years," Moore said.

Even Ald. Pat O'Connor (40th), the mayor's City Council floor leader, had grave reservations about the secret meeting.

"When I first read about it, I was thinking you're like legitimizing lawbreakers. It's like warning them if things don't get better, we're gonna enforce the law. Well, why aren't we doing that anyway?" he said.

Seems like a few of these guys have people that listen to the arguments most cops make.

Then Fran Spielman has to do an entirely new article because City Hall called her on the carpet:
  • Mayor Daley said Tuesday he would “negotiate with anyone to have peace,” denying that Police Supt. Jody Weis was “negotiating with urban terrorists” when he met secretly with West Side gang leaders to demand that they stop the killing.

One day after Weis came under attack from a handful of aldermen, Daley fired back in defense of his $310,000-a-year superintendent.

The mayor called the Aug. 17 meeting a “good concept” that’s been tried in other cities, including Boston, Los Angeles and Cincinnati.

“We’ll negotiate with anyone to have peace — even during the war. You sit down with anyone. If you save one life — if I can save your son’s life, you’d want me to sit down with them. But, it’s not your son. It’s not your daughter,” he said.

That sounds almost exactly like Neville Chamberlain. Remember him?

Negotiated peace is a good thing, but only if done from a position of strength with the ability to completely eliminate the enemy from the field of battle. "Unconditional surrender" is the term. J-Fled attempted to bring the enemy to the table (wrongly in our opinion), but he has nothing to compel them to behave. Parking tickets? Traffic stops? Harassment? These assholes don't own anything of value in their names and certainly don't control each and every gun in their gang.

We got a letter from an 011 District officer the other day that since the "gang banger tea party" took place, there have been 3 homicides and 15 other shootings. Does that sound like anyone learned anything from the Supernintendo? Besides the gang bangers that is, who seem to have learned only that the CPD can't stop them from doing exactly what they want to do.

And yes, we heard about the WGN "poll" that showed an 80-20 break in people saying they were OK sitting down with gang bangers. Those polls are BS without any controls or rules on sampling. Remember, WGN America goes nation-wide. It's not even a Chicago, Cook County, Illinois poll.

Mayor Daley is happy with Police Superintendent Jody Weis' meeting with gang leaders.

"It's a good concept," said Daley. "Listen, if you lost a son to gunfire, you'd sit down with anyone. If you'd save one life, you would sit down."

Here's some advice for you, Shankster, sit down and shut the fuck up. Idiot.

It seems we've heard that mantra before. "Don’t negotiate with urban terrorists"...”They’re not equals”…”Empower gang leaders”…

Hmm... somewhere, I don’t know… [head scratch] Oh, musta been on some “insignificant” blog somewhere.
Shit, SCC it looks like the alderman said damn near the same stuff you posted 28 AUG 10 at 0805hrs. How does it feel being “insignificant”? (Keep up the damn good work!)

Its a random bunch of individuals that have nothing better to do but vote on a WGN poll, and have never been the Police. Most are probably housewives from Winetka or Schamburg.
What do ya expect?

Remember when everybody was criticizing Obama for wanting to openly sit down and negotiate with leaders of terrorist nations? Wouldn't that have been an admission of defeat on Obama's part? and wouldn't it have given the terrorists validation?

This is the same exact thing Weis just did. Weis should be tarred and feathered and dragged through the streets of chicago.

Texas Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson Admits 'Unknowingly' Violating Congressional Rules

Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) has admitted that she "unknowingly" broke Congressional Black Caucus Foundation rules by awarding scholarship money to four relatives and the two children of a top aide.

Of the 43 scholarships her office awarded, The Dallas Morning News determined that 15 went to relatives of Johnson or Rod Givens, her district director.

Johnson, 74, is expected to easily win a tenth term in November over Republican Stephen Broden.

It's things like this that are the very same reason that the Chicago voter continues to disappoint. They keep voting in the same idiots and expect things to change.

It doesn't matter if they're Republicans or as in this case, Democrats. It's a constant parade of the same crap, day in, day out.

It's time to clean house. VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBENTS.

When they don't even question themselves when they're doing this kind of thing, they've been there too damn long! I mean, REALLY? Johnson doesn't even ask herself, "Will this appear inappropriate?" Regardless if it's illegal, unethical or prohibited, the mere APPEARANCE OF IMPROPRIETY SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO TELL A POLITICIAN THAT'S THE WRONG THING TO DO!

Chicago Democrats don't have that trigger in their brains, the one that tells them that "this action is wrong." They truly believe that they are entitled to be the ruling class.

When will we say "Enough is enough!"?

VOTE. If you're not registered, then man-up and register. Get your relatives to vote. Get your friends to vote. Dump all of the vermin that have infested Chicago, Cook County and unfortunately, the entire state of Illinois.

The negotiations that seemed to work the best were those in 1945, after Germany and Japan were bombed and invaded almost to the point of total destruction. Then and only then did the warring axis powers "negotiate" an unconditional surrender.

That is the only negotiation tactic that should be used with today's urban terrorists. Total destruction of the gang and gang structure by a constant series of unrelenting prosecutions and overwhelming and constant police pressure.

Negotiate only with a gun pointed squarely at their head. Then the only decision to be made should be surrender or die.

Knock it off? Stop the killing? Appeasement never works, it didn't with actual organized governments and it won't with rogue criminal elements.

What a DISGRACE! I can't
believe our "so called" leader would stoop to their level and give them some "legitmacy." These "gang leaders" are nothing but street level low life thugs. J-Fled just made our job even harder by making them feel impowered. Now they have a great recruiting tool to use by telling others that the police department fears us. What a crew of dummies we have incharge! SAD DAYS.

The bottom line is until there is a change in the White House Wies is not going any place. Da Mayo cannot move him there was an agreement that Da Mayo would seem like he is in control of the CPD as long as a FED ran it. The consent decree is sitting there and as long as Barack is in the house it's a White House / Chicago shell game. Da Mayo has to put up with Wies and if Wies leaves for another job another FED takes his place. In the mean time when a strong non Chicago Republican gets in it's straight to prison for Da Mayo........

This brings back memories of the
days when the Feds were tossing
money at the Blackstone Rangers in
an effort to stop them from killing
and terrorizing people and businesses in the Woodlawn Neighborhood. Needless to say, it
did not work. The thugs accepted
the money and used it to finance
their criminal enterprises.
And do you recall a so-called "gang
summit" a while back with Gator
Bradley and his boys marching thru
Englewood chanting " peace, there it is, peace there it is".
Well, needless to say, that did not
last either. The only way to get rid of these gang-bangers is to hire more sworn police officers and
give them the authority to enforce
the law against the gangs.
Bust heads, kick a**es, arrest them
and send them to a prison like where John Gotti is or was where they are locked-up 23 hours of the
day. As long as the bangers know that the mayor and the superintendent of police has their
(the bangers) backs they will continue to terrorize the police,
the citizens, and one another.
And it's amazing that Jody Weis
would have one of his officers,
Officer Cozzi, prosecuted and sent
to prison on a bulls*it tip but is
willing to give the gangbangers the
benefit of the doubt. It's sickening.

The Chicago Police Dept used RICO against gangs 15 years ago. Apparently the current administration didn't know that because they fired all the people with the knowledge they need to successfully fight cdrime in the city.

My partner and I were talking about Chamberlain and Churchill just a couple of weeks ago and how it compared to the P.O.T.U.S. ignoring the coming storm of Iran and other hotspots in the world. Unfortunately the "thinking man" does not think these threats will ever come to fruition because they think appeasement is the remedy. Then when the shit hits the fan they shit their pants and the public has to find someone with resolve to do the job, enter Churchill. As soon as all the trouble is over, they want rid of the hero and back to the fool so they can feel all fuzzy and warm all over again, exit Churchill. History repeats again and again and again.

Here's what's rich, for those of us who remember all the "gang truce" BS from back in 1992. Back then Daley said that sitting down with gang members was a BAD idea.
Clearly the current administration of CPD has no memory of past efforts to legitimize gang leaders--Jeff Fort and the Blackstone Rangers in the late 60's, then Larry Hoover, "Growth & Development" and "20th Century VOTE" in the early 90's.

I wrote a post on it earlier this morning, complete with Daley's quotes from back in 1992:

Sitting down with Chicago gang leaders: a terrible idea with a long history

I know this to be true because I was in the meeting. This whole sit down with gang members is the idea of Da Mayor, the truth is that the professor who is either from Yale or Harvard Dr Kennedy brought it to Da Mayor, it worked on the east coast and Da Mayor wanted to work here. Besides it's funded by the government. So Da Mayor turned Kennedy over to Masters. Da Mayor wanted the sit down to take place in late April or early May, but could not get it done due to a number of reasons, manpower, trying to figure out who they were going to target, working with Gang Investigations, SA, Federal Att, etc. CPD wanted to call in over 100 gang members but were unable to make them come in. The only gang (members)leaders who did come in (7-10) came because they were on Parole and knew that if they didn't they would be volated and sent back to finish thier time. So Da Mayor is only going to J Fled's aid because it came from the 5th floor to begin with. And how is it working? It's not, same thing is going on, 3 killed over weekend about 4 shot just in 011. The gang leaders don't care about anything other then getting thier money. They don't care what J Fled or anyone else at the meeting said. I cann't wait till J Fled is gone maybe than we can start to work on Morale.

Simply said, if you had anyone with half of a brain advising him, they would have explained to him the counter message that meeting sent. He is NOT the police, does not have anyone besides from what I can see Deputy Superintendent Brown that even trusts him enough to advise him and even he knows he can only say so much to him before he is on the outs. Look at what happened to Mike Shields. As soon as he consistently told Jfed and his crew the truth and pointed out to them how their tactics were not to the benefit of the police or the citizens, he was booted and so was his cronies, Commander Terry Williams and Commander John Franklin, lets not forget his girl Monique Bond.

I was asked to go quietly after our one on one confrontation in his office by BC. It just pisses me off that he was not man enough to tell me himself.

All of our brothers and sisters in blue, just be patient, all of us that were unjustly removed will be heard from again real soon.

Bullshit if all you do is change the life of one person then you are a huge failure. Shortshanks said it's a good concept well so is communism but it doesn't work, so is socialism and as we can clearly see in our own Country with barry at the helm it doesn't work either. Another word that can be used for concept is conceit other words that can be used for conceit; whim, fantasy, fancy, caprice(humor), notion and quirk. They all seem to fit.
