Have You Written to Bill Lately?

While Bill's case is at a standstill and Frank Main is using him as a political ping pong ball to divert attention from some truly asinine moves and decisions by Department and city administrators, it might be nice to remind him he isn't forgotten.

His address is in our right hand margin - print it exactly as shown. A quick note, a card, anything to remind Bill he is in our thoughts and prayers. We're sure Sgt. Northen will remind everyone what is and isn't allowed to be sent and what Bill may or may not need in the way of books, paper or material needs. Bill answers every letter sent.

I just received a letter from Bill and as can be understood, he is down. He can use all the letters or cards that you can send.

I sent this info to Bill after his appeal was denied in the hopes he'd want this family to visit.

It’s approximately 937 miles to drive and at 25mpg would cost about $110 for gas. It’s a 14 hour trip.

The Best Western Hotel is about $85 for a king bed room to $135 for a suite.

According to Travelocity, ORD to New Orleans via UA is about $261 round trip and a rental car is approximately $94 for two days.

I just spoke with Bill. As confirmed by his attorney, Marc Martin and while it's rare that the U.S. Supreme Court grants a writ of certiorari, Bill will appeal to SCOTUS. Make no mistake, after the Seventh Circuit affirmed Judge Blanche Manning's decision on July 30th, it will be an uphill battle to say the least.

Needless to say, Bill is very depressed and lonely. However, you can't underestimate how much your letters and cards sustain his strength through this ordeal. As SCC wrote, please drop him a few lines just to let him know he has not been abandoned by his blue brothers and sisters as well as compassionate citizens. At this moment, Bill has reading material. I will post if it's time to send more paperbacks. Hardcover books will only be accepted directly from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders and other recognized booksellers. Hold off for now. As far as any other material needs, he must purchase items only through the prison commissary. LETTERS and CARDS ONLY.

Efforts to relocate Bill to the satellite (dormitory) camp at Oxford, Wisconsin, 200 miles away, are on the front burner.

Personally, barring maliciousness, I can't fathom why the USDOJ Bureau of Prisons (BOP) imprisoned Bill in Oakdale, Louisiana, a 1,000 miles from home.

Due to time-consuming bureaucratic red tape, dismiss any plan to visit him at this time. To all his supporters, he gives his love and gratitude for standing by him, adding "Stay safe!".

Finally, I would like to clarify that when I use contemptuous obscenities in describing the one person responsible for this outrage, my words are NOT that of Bill Cozzi. Bill continues to respectfully refer to this treacherous, despicable rat cocksucker as "Superintendent Weis". We rarely mention this lying, cowardly piece of shit in our conversations.

Bill's mailing address appears in the upper right hand corner of both the SCC and SLC blogs. His inmate number (40222-424) is critical for delivery.

Please drop Bill a few lines.

8:00 AM ("Therese")

No postage stamps or stamped self-addressed envelopes. Bill must buy stamps, envelopes and stationery from the commissary. Mail him lots of cards and letters only. No visitors at this time.

Have FOP get cards for the 25districts and have everyone sign them. This can be suggested at the next meeting.

One person at each district responsible to get signatures. This would boost Bill's morale tremendously. This way it can be organized and no scattered efforts.

FREE COZZI!
DUMP daley!

GOD bless CPD & U.S.A.

Is this some sort of tenth-level sarcasm that's totally over my head, or are you just the biggest jag in the history of Chicago?

Given the circumstances, the man is entitled to vent however he damn well pleases. I'd like to see you railroaded to hell, shit on and had your life trashed so some asshole politicians could appeal to a bunch of Reverends- and see how you handle it...

Whatever. Fuck you. I hope you catch a stray round.
