"Knock It Off" Results (UPDATE)
The burned body of an unidentified woman was found in an alley in the East Garfield Park neighborhood officials said.
Chicago police were called to the 2800 block of West Washington Avenue at about 4:30 a.m. after the woman's body was found in an alley, said Chicago Police News Affairs [...].
She said Chicago police are conducting a death investigation.
A 23-year-old man was fatally wounded tonight on a West Side street while talking to another man, who also was wounded in the shooting.
About 6:30 p.m. the two men were standing on the 4400 block of West Wilcox Street when they heard shots fired from an unknown location, according to preliminary information from Chicago police.

A 15-year-old boy who was shot and killed Saturday night in the Humboldt Park neighborhood may have been struck by stray gunfire from a person chasing and shooting at someone else, police said.
Police responded at 8:39 p.m. to the 800 block of North Harding Avenue and found the boy with a gunshot wound to the chest, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.
It may be that someone armed with a weapon was chasing and intending to shot at someone else and opened fire but instead struck the teen, who was sitting in a chair, police News Affairs [...] said.

A man was killed and at least 12 other people were wounded in overnight shootings, including a male shot by police.
Starting about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in West Garfield Park, a 23-year-old man was fatally shot in the 4400 block of West Wilcox Street while a 33-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg.
At 8:39 p.m. Saturday in Humboldt Park, a 15-year-old boy was shot twice in the chest in the 900 block of South Harding Avenue, the Cook County medical examiner's office said. Police believe the teen may have been caught in the crossfire between two other men. He was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
At 6:33 p.m. in Chicago Lawn, an 18-year-old woman was shot in the knee in the 5900 block of South Maplewood Avenue. She was taken in good condition to Holy Cross Hospital.
At 6:41 p.m. in Chatham, a 19-year-old woman was shot in the left foot in the 700 block of East 80th Street.
At 8:46 p.m. in Roseland, a 25-year-old man was shot in his upper arm at 15 W. 107th St. He was taken to Roseland Community Hospital.
At 11:11 p.m. in Gresham, police shot a male suspect as he allegedly attempted to rob patrons at a restaurant in the 1400 block of West 79th Street. Another male suspect involved in the incident was able to successfully escape.
About 11:45 p.m. in Gage Park, a 17-year-old boy was standing outside during a block party in the 5800 block of South Campbell Avenue when he was shot in the head, police said. He was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
At 12:01 a.m. this morning in South Chicago, a 22-year-old man was shot in the foot in the 8400 block of South Manistee Avenue.
At 12:39 a.m. in Back of the Yards, a 21-year-old man was shot in the groin in the 5100 block of South Laflin Street and was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
At 2:10 a.m. in West Chatham, a 24-year-old man suffered a graze wound to his neck in the 5700 block of South Lasalle Street and was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.
At 2:18 a.m. Brighton Park, a 27-year-old man was shot in the shoulder in the 4400 block of South Kedzie Avenue, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
At 2:35 a.m. in West Garfield Park, two males were shot in the 4600 block of West Maypole Avenue. One suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and the other was shot in his buttocks, said police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.
At 2:58 a.m., a male suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder from a drive-by in the 200 block of South Marshall, Gaines said. No other information was immediately available.
Area detectives are investigating and no one was in custody for any of the shootings.

Off topic but one of the reasons this department is so fucked up. In 023, at 11 AM Friday Vice Lords try to kill a kid by unloading on him right behind Truman College. Tac guys among others on view this and catch one guy right away and the other is immediately identified and caught later. The Area 3 worthless detectives won't even come out and investigate but repeatedly demand to be called an d then totally blow it off twice. I guess nothing ,the shell casings were picked up and misdemeanor charges all the way around. This job is a joke and we are our own worst enemy. No wonder they shoot at each other midday with no fear of recourse . We have no backbone.

......to all the taxpayers in Mt. Greenwood, this should really get your goat. In broad daylight a home invasion occured in one of the better Chicagoland neighborhoods where WORKING people are paying taxes, taxes, and more taxes and some ghetto rats come out of nowhere terrorizing a family in their own house. The 22nd district seems to be always out on the north end of 22. The south end where all the decent working, law abiding families live isn't patrolled as much but for some time now a lot of ghetto rats have been coming down the side streets eyeing up the block thinking about all the treasures they can get out of a decent families house just by knowing the police aren't going to be there in time to do anything. Sad, but true.

Anyone know more about the details about the home invasion of that family on the block of 107th and Drake? We read the blog daily but are not the police, but we support all the men and women in blue. In the last few months, we bought a big dog because are children are gone and we are seeing more and more suspicious people and cars in our quiet neighborhood. We call from time and time and know the police are busy with real crime, but it sems the real crime is happening here. If it helps any, the day of the incident on Drake, there was a white four door car parked with the engine running with two black people, one female driver and one male that looked very nervous on the north end of 107th and Drake the day before. We tryed calling 911, but our cellphone reception was bad and the car drove off. There was no front plate on the car as we walked past. God bless that family, they seem so decent to have harm come there way. What is really surprising is that police, a lot of police live around the surrounding area. For that to happen shows how these criminals don't care about anything or anyone these days, but themselves.

J-Fled's problem is certainly not paranoia. People are actually out to destroy him with good reason. He may be a delusional failure but he realizes that much is true.
He is desperate with nowhere to turn. His imaginary world is imploding into severe claustrophobia with acute anxiety and deep depression. Unless we increase his meds, a massive breakdown is inevitable and imminent. Even then, his situation is irreversibly hopeless.

I'm not a cop but I did grow up in back of the yards and have friends who are police officers. This department you guys work for is just making you guys look like total underdogs. Breaking News: In response to the violence on the west side this weekend, J. Weis dispatched an elite unit of officers, states attorneys' and FBI agents to a known west side gang leaders house. Witnesses stated they gathered in a huddle like formation in front of the house for a couple hours, with little movement except for head scratching. The witness then stated an unknown officer jumped out of the huddle pointing at a vehicle parked in front of the residence. The Officer then ran to the vehicle and placed what appeared to be a parking citation on the window. The witness stated he could hear a loud cheer irrupt from the group and even seen a couple "high fives". The group then went back to their shiny new unmarked vehicles a sped way. Someone mentioned in the first "Knoct it Off" that Lt. Andrews and John Northern got the ball rolling and I agree. I am too old to have worked with Lt. Andrews. How much is this guy paid? How many shootings were there last night? What's the "prediction" rating on any of these shootings because we want to know why none of these shootings were predicted so that troops could have been deployed to stop it.
Off topic but one of the reasons this department is so fucked up. In 023, at 11 AM Friday Vice Lords try to kill a kid by unloading on him right behind Truman College. Tac guys among others on view this and catch one guy right away and the other is immediately identified and caught later. The Area 3 worthless detectives won't even come out and investigate but repeatedly demand to be called an d then totally blow it off twice. I guess nothing ,the shell casings were picked up and misdemeanor charges all the way around. This job is a joke and we are our own worst enemy. No wonder they shoot at each other midday with no fear of recourse . We have no backbone.
