Anyway I just drafted a letter to add to my will in the event of an untimely and unfortunate death due to some animal as a result of being a police officer on this joke of a department. After hearing about Weiss showing up at the memorial for our fallen brothers I was literally sick to my stomach. As we have seen by what has happened to Lt. Andrews, we are not allowed free speech on this job without suffering punitive actions by our department. So if nothing else I will say my piece post mortem. J-PUD and DA MIDGET are NOT WELCOME to come to my wake, funeral or any memorial type events if I happen to suffer an untimely death at the hands of some piece of shit scurge of the planet. My wife and family will not allow either the WEISSEL or DA MAYOR to take part in a mockery of my death. I suggest that everyone on this job do the same!

It was bad enough he had no urban law enforcement experience and was never a cop, but he made the FBI look like a bunch of incompetent, pencil pushing numbers crunching idiots because he ran the department like a Fed. So, if that's any indication...God help this country.
Hope he saved his almost a million dollars and invested wisely. Unemployment is at an all time high.

The person to blame for this mess is none other than shortshanks daley. He hired JFled and can't admit to his little narcisstic self that Fled has been a total failure since day one.
Daley wouldn't even allow him the chance to lead because he put Masters in there to babysit and spy. Masters, the guy with no police experience, not a sworn officer, but then starts wearing a gun around his waist. (rumor has it he took a crash course on how to fire a gun, but has never been trained in the academy---what is it now 24 weeks???) With a fed in place who has never been the police, and a civilian in there wanting to be the police by wearing a pistol, and a mayor who thinks he knows it all, but couldn't even pass the bar exam, we are doomed AND the city is doomed.
I can't remember the last time I told a gang member who been in and out of the IDOC to "knock it off" and he listened and "Yes, officer" and turned in all his weapons and dope. In fact, this would never happen, except maybe in a fairy tale or mamby-pamby land.

The organizational structure of the Department is set by General Order and authenticated by the Superintendent. The reason SFG reported directly to the Deputy Superintendent of Patrol is that it serves a city-wide function. This short sighted move will have the Chief of Field Group B going to Chief of Field Group A to obtain resources for his area. This is rife with conflicts, and the reason for SFG to report directly to the DS of Patrol.
This move by DS Brown contradicts that order. He does not have the authority to make that move, but if the Superintendent does not stop this it is more evidence that he has no control over Brown and that his appointment was a purely political move.
A couple of other points. I think such a move requires more than an off the cuff, misspelled and poorly worded email from a DS. At the very least a report to the Superintendent with an approval line for AS Jackson is required. Where is the thought? Where is the professionalism? The email reflects poorly on his rank. At the very least someone should be checking his spelling and grammar. Would you send an email on such an important matter rifed with errors?
If I was a sergeant I would send the report back and ask him to correct the errors.
Change to a General Order usually requires a staffing by Research and Development. Of course why would DS Brown ask for consultation before making such a decision? He is used to doing what he wants and suffering no consequences. Lies on his resume but his promoted to Chief and Deputy Superintendent.
The press should be asking the Superintendent if he approves this move, and what were the discussions that took place in order to make such a call. Does the Mayor want a Chief that is assigned to the south side to be in charge of units that work city-wide.
Aldermen in wards that comprise of the 70% percent of the population that will have to get the approval of a Chief whose self interest is to keep resources in his area should be asking questions.
This move by DS Brown and subsequent inaction by the Superintendent is the whack Daley needs to stop the nonsense. Send Weis, Masters and Brown on their merry ways, and return the Department to members who actually care about its well being and future.
Fox, Tribune, Sun Times, Chicago Reader please don't let this guy off the hook. Weis put in Brown in place of a DS that at the least knew how a big city department operates, and applied management principles that set a course based on reason and logic, not on whim.
