A gang member firing at rivals shot and killed his friend with the same weapon he had shown off to him minutes earlier, Cook County prosecutors said Thursday afternoon.
Police said Darius Murphy, 21, was a Black P. Stone like Jauan Oneal and that Oneal had been sitting in the parked Pontiac with Murphy and three others in Back of the Yards when bullets were exchanged last May.
But prosecutors Thursday described Murphy only as Oneal’s “friend” and said that Oneal, 22, was shooting at a moving van in the 5100 block of South Laflin in the early morning hours of May 30.
Murphy, who was sitting in the front passenger seat of the Pontiac, was shot in the head by one of Oneal’s stray bullets while a Memorial Day party was taking place on the block, authorities said.

It's called target fixation. All the moron shooter saw was the van, not his "friend" two or three damn' feet in front of him! I guess this is a "twofer."

That is so the dumbocrat voters will re elect the same thieves then after they are in office "surprise" they screwed you on your tax bills,then statring jan 01 2011 barry obama will increse the federal income tax to all the blue collar workers 20%! "SURPRISED?" Thought barry was better Bush was 100X better and he had respect and the terrorists feared the "American Cowboy" who fears barry?

I'm retired CPD w/ a mortgage at Chase. Last year I got a letter from them saying the time was ideal to refinance since rates were so low. I fell for it and paid $700 for the application fee. They sent their appraiser who appraised our north side brick 2-flat, at $160,000 less than the appraisal on our original mortgage, and, based on that, denied us the new loan. AND they only refunded us HALF of the $700 app fee!!!
Anyway, we learned that based on the new appraisal, we could get our homeowners insurance rate dropped, and we did.
We also learned about a program from the Cook County Assessor's office, the Long Term Occupant Exemption Program which ties in with our reduction of income due to my retirement. We have gotten 2 refund checks for over $4000 each for 2007 and 2008 and are awaiting another for 2009. In addition, our tax rate should be lowered in the future.
This program requires that you earn less than $100,000 a year and are an owner occupant since 1999, but it has obviously helped us. Don't know how many of you this may help, but good luck to anyone who can use the info.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad this guy is off the street, but I cant believe someone thinks this is a good arrest by an entire team and task force.
Apparently Jauan didn't turn his life around after he was caught running down Ashland Ave with a pistol in his hand trying to shoot at a car driving by. That was back in 2008 when he got probation for UUW. Apparently it didn't work.
