"Victim" of Police Shooting

This is supposed to be the previous arrest of the home invader currently taking a dirt-nap courtesy of an off-duty copper:
  • Tinley Park police have caught a man who, along with another man, posed as a cable TV worker, then bound and gagged residents in a Tinley Park home last year.

Ramiz Othman, 28, of the 3500 block of Columbus Drive, was charged with home invasion late Friday evening. He appeared in bond court Saturday, where a judge ordered Othman be held without bond.
The article is from November of 2008, but is certainly appears that he didn't learn anything from his previous arrests. We'd say he learned something this time though.

Will Ch32 now retract their story? Too much to ask.

Time to ticket news trucks. Let them know that they need us, we don't need them.

If only more could learn this way..... Oh wait!!! Citizens of Chicago maybe allowed to arm themselves with handguns again! Let the citizens save the court systems millions of $$$ and prevent other future victims from these repeat offenders!!! Im sure the Judge who let him out of prison gave him a "stern warning" to not commit any crimes again. I almost bust out laughing everytime I hear the Judges give their "tough speeches" to these POS. Almost like they think they matter or scare anyone but the honest man... Dont try to flex your muscles on theses criminals... Use the muscle and convict for the MAXIMUM PRISON SENTENCES so they can stay locked up for a period of time. Change the rules to 100% time served. No early outs. Your threats mean nothing, no more "last time super duper for real probations" after they are arrested over and over while actively on probation!

I truly hope one of the many media parasites falls victim to a situation identical to this.
I would love to see the reaction, if any, they would have unarmed and surprised in the little suburban home as some lifelong fucking animal kicks in their back door.
So sick and fucking tired of the media in this town getting away with doing and saying whatever to sell a fucking story or newspaper.
Walk in the man's shoes and then do your story parasites!!

"Im sure the Judge who let him out of prison gave him a "stern warning" to not commit any crimes again."

Judges don't let anyone out of prison, parole boards do. Judges let people out of county jail pending an active case.

"Dont try to flex your muscles on theses criminals... Use the muscle and convict for the MAXIMUM PRISON SENTENCES so they can stay locked up for a period of time. Change the rules to 100% time served. No early outs."

The state of Illinois, as well as many states in this country, are nearly if not already bankrupt. Prisons, and those who run them are feeling the heat from state governments to release prisoners early, on parole. It costs approximately 25 thousand dollars a year to house an inmate in Illinois. Do the math. States are cutting corners to save money. Letting 1000 inmates go saves the State of Illinois 25 million dollara a year.

The same scenario plays out on the local level also in Cook County. The jail on 26th is half empty, partly because the police aren't being pro-active anymore, and justifiably so. But also, because judges are being instructed by those in control to throw out any case possible for the slightest mistake.

This problem, which is systematic, can be placed squarely on the shoulders of the politicians who have squandered billions of dollars in taxpayer money. Now that the trough of taxpayer money is running dry, along with the federal government being broke, these municipalities and states are jeopardizing public safety in an attempt to balance or cut budgets.

To be continued...

In MY civilized society taxpayer money should insure:

1) Public Safety (build more prisons and house all offenders 100% of sentence, NO EXCEPTIONS). No probation for felony convictions, period. Richard Pryor said it best in one of his comedy routines, "I went to the penitentiary to visit some of the Brothers. Thank God for penitentiaries." YES, build more or them!

2) Education. Schools should be a reflection of the community in which the school is located GEOGRAPHICALLY, not of the greater community. Those taxpayers who live in a geographical area should have a school in which their children can attend that is comprised of children who LIVE there. I want my tax dollars I pay to the city to stay in MY COMMUNITY so just maybe MY children could benefit. The public school system in Chicago went to crap the minute kids from other areas began getting bused in for diversity sake. Cultural diversity is a sham forced down the throats of those in better schools by those who play the race game. It's akin to the assimilation theory of moving low income and housing residents into stable and safe working class neighborhoods. Those folks don't assimilate or aspire to anything other than what they ALREADY ARE. It's a failed experiment, and always will be.

3) Infrastructure. Safe and driveable roads, free of potholes the size of Lake Michigan. Why is it that other cold weather states can build and maintain wonderful, long-term, maintenance free roads and yet Illinois can't? Use my tax dollars to build it correctly with proper amounts of materials and those that will last.

An astute reader will note that nowhere in my top 3 are welfare or free health care. Not in MY society, at least not free. There should be a value placed on living within the laws of society. Value on an education and then the job that one can attain with it, in order to support oneself and ones family. I have to pay for my food and medical bills that insurance doesn't cover. Benefits that I pay a premium for every check. Why should taxpayer money be given freely and without regard for those who conform to a civilized society and it's laws and norms to those who don't make any positive contributions? Let those who have nothing go out and earn those benefits which I have, which I HAVE earned through education, conformity, and work. Unfortunately there is a large segment of society that places no value on this, but only on instant gratification in every aspect of their lives. For those that worry about how the those that have not will survive, I say don't worry at all. Time and mother nature, along with a cut off from the tit of the taxpayer will take care of that. Call it Darwinian, if you like, for lack of a better term. I choose to call it a beginning to a more lawful and peaceful world. A man can dream...

Re: 8/25/2010 12:04:00 PM

I agree with 99.9% of what you said. :)

My comments follow below:

1) Public Safety - Why not execute the murderers and rapists, like the Bible commands?

2) Education -

During my dad's high school era (1948-1952), Wells High School (then White changing to Black) and Tuley High School (then White) were bad news. Thus, my dad sneaked into Lane Technical High School.

Also way before citywide busing began (September 1977), standards had been lowered since the mid 1960s.

New math, look ahead reading method (i.e. removal of phonics), forget about comprehension & critical thinking and don't bother proofreading the document were slowly ushered in.

Even in my Taft days (1980-1984), grades weren't standardized. An 'A' from Teacher A was equivalent to a 'B' from Teacher B.
