Word from Sgt. Northen that the FOP is in the process of organizing a march around HQ as a show of no confidence in J-Fled. Wednesday, 15 September.
A cynical part of us says Shortshanks must have signed off on this.
The hopeful part thinks J-Fled is to be removed via some lateral transfer and the march will never step off.
Another cynical part of us wonders if if this is a red herring to discredit Northen, the SCC blog, Shaved and anyone else who has been working to keep the public informed as to the reality behind the fictions.
The realist wonders what the hell is going on?

Additional information regarding possible parking locations and transportation to and from the march will be released as soon as possible.
A formal press release will be issued by the Lodge.

I was at the last march, and while garnering us some press, it accomplished nothing as far as Daley goes.
If it's true that he'll be out of town, and the march is held at

We have actual labor attorneys. They actually spoke at FOP meetings several times during contract talks.
The main problem, as always, is that the City does not bargain in good faith and digs in until forced to arbitration and then it is a crap shoot.
A march is a great idea, but we should do it downtown and sing the BALLAD OF JODY WEIS.
Downtown will get more attention, national news coverage, easier for everyone to get to via CTA, no parking at HQ, we can actually march around city hall, and the message is to boss Daley to fire JFLED. If we march at 35th Daley can deny knowing about it.
Don't forget to make it anti Shortshanks. If he signed off on it, we should give him a shot. That rotten little thief needs to go and to take his carpetbagger J-Fled and the Policy Group with him.

If the announced 15 SEP 10 demonstration/march was a legitimate tactic to publicize our plight, the FOP would have designated City Hall as the site for it.

enough for a news spot at 35th / and the grand stand at city hall , po's mommas, babies, friends, pols, and the kitchen sink.
and a third one at an undisclosed location...notifying the news 1 hour prior, say, at a place like
Cole park in Gresham (85 & King Drive) Too many coppers shot in Gresham! now and in the past.
If fop is worried about officer safety, why don't they suggest marching to end the residency requirement?

A march is a great idea, but we should do it downtown and sing the BALLAD OF JODY WEIS.
Downtown will get more attention, national news coverage, easier for everyone to get to via CTA, no parking at HQ, we can actually march around city hall, and the message is to boss Daley to fire JFLED. If we march at 35th Daley can deny knowing about it.

this plan, to relegate, via flop sanction, a march protesting mayor shitstain's heinous manipulations, can easily be 'modified', by changing the location to city hall.
a consensus is already building, just a few more posts here, word of mouth leading up to the day, and we'll have a bingo.
and the fact that mayor shitstain will likely be 'out of town' will just be icing on the cake.

It's like this is freaking normal or something. I'm walking through another homemade death memorial, right there on the sidewalk, and the Mayor doesn't care -- he'll be in China.
Talk about someone with no concept of "not on my watch."
I was just thinking about the Great Freight Tunnel Flood, and how the guy who didn't report the damage in a timely manner because the photos "hadn't come back from Walgreens yet" was scapegoated, fired with great ceremony -- and then quietly reinstated a couple of years later with full back pay.
Be very careful ! Why does the FOP suddenly have Balls to march ???? Something smells shitty in Shitcago !

Interesting Any info from the FOP. We should get another union to represent us. How do we go about that. They are useless. We need actual Financial advisors and labor attorneys to negotiate our contract. Not P.O,'s.

Not much a student of history eh, hair gel? There have been two ratification votes since the City agreed to a bargaining unit for police. the first when the FOP became our bargaining unit and the second when a group of disgruntled officers, much like yourself perhaps, sought to decertify the union and vote for a new union.
The FOP won both times.
Easiest way, as I pointed out, is to quit here and go where you like the union. Oh, and good luck.
I'm not marching unless it is downtown. This is a setup. We're the police and we know it!

The last time I marched, I was dumped 3 weeks later. Having said this, I am prepared to march AGAIN.
But do we really want to march around headquarters, or do we want to put feet to the street where it will make the biggest difference, and that is CITY HALL???
