ASA's Pressuring Densey Cole?
Is this true? Someone has to know:
- The entire system is a joke. P.O. Densey Cole who within moments of his on duty accident had a "Good Citizen" in broad daylight jump in the vehicle to rob him of his money & gun. Turning him on his sides to get at these items & threatening to kill him with his own weapon. But now the officer keeps getting calls about giving this "IT" a deal of 4 years! This cop got a life sentence, but this only 4 years? Hey guys & girls should we not call the union & start a fight on his behalf? This could be one of us or a family member. Will we continue to STAND FOR DENSEY? I hope & pray.
A four-year-sentence for most likely crippling Officer Cole for life? How about this piece of filth gets out of prison sometime after Densey can walk again? That would be a start.

Im not a cop but I remember when that happened, thinking to myself it was one of the most heinous crimes I'd ever heard of- going up to a man who was gravely wounded in a car accident and robbing him, potentially crippling him in the process.
In my opinion, that is a life sentence crime, or if not, then something along the line of 40 or 50 years. There is no uglier, nastier form of predator than that. They are they reason we have prisons.

cozzi got almost four years for a simple battery---- vehicular invasion, disarming a peace officer, strong armed robbery, uuw by felon, burglary, aggravated battery on the police---- four years sounds a little to lite--- maybe add a zero after the 4 to make it right....

Why is it that victims who suffer the most in our society are so often further victimized by our judicial system? If this is true, and, generally, SCC does the research before posting something like this, it is making my heart just sink. Densey, my heart and my prayers go out to you and your family. Anita should realize that politically speaking: if you crucify this piece of human garbage, you will become a hero to both Police and citizens.
Because we’re not organized, we’ll never beat the new system or make changes. I can not accept a blanket law that a police officer is charged criminally, either by the ASA or FBI civil rights, for striking an offender while in custody. It should be a case by case basis. Further, I can not accept when an Officer is the victim, the case has less attention or commit by the ASA.

In sports, a player is given a personal foul, a suspension and/or or fined for a late hit (hits which causes concussions – serious physical injury), but not kicked out of football for life or charged criminally.
A suspension? Absolutely, even up to 1-year. But, it’s no longer a fair process. The investigation of the incident, coupled with the officer’s disciplinary and complementary histories and work history, should be considered prior to any discussion to the media.
We need to become organized. We need to affect the outcome of an election. Say, a judicial election or even aldermanic election. When we have the ability to change the outcome of an election, people will listen. The aldermen of the wards where the police live do not stick up for us or fear the fact that they failed to support us.
What happened cook county got told by the revs to do this? Or did anita alvarez as usual not do her job?

Don't forget that 4 years will be reduced by half for day for day good time and less again for time served while awaiting trial and then he will take advantage of Dept. of Corrections "programs". This could result in less that 1 year actual time behind bars.

Early on in the process of trying to work out a plea deal, that is a proposal that the convict's side threw out there. A 401 conference was held with the judge and both sides, and the judge stepped in and said he would never approve such a low sentence.
Pre-trial motions are still on-going with the case.
Anita Alvarez is ultimately responsible for the actions of her subordinates, again she proves to be a tool.
After dealing with a moron ASA again for hours, I can only say this. The office was never high on my list of well run entities, but since Alvarez has taken over it has descended to a new low of absolute incompetence and political insanity.
Its easier anymore to just let 'em go. A bad felony doesn't make a good misdemeanor.

I am not political but will work very hard against Anita if the penalty is not much more. I went to his benefit and never met him before. By the grace of God I am not in his place. My prayers are with him in his recovery.

You should buy a book, or maybe just ask around so you can have at least some idea of what constitutes a civil rights violation.
You've got to be kidding! The system is broken in Cook County. What is needed here is a stealth organization that doles out punishment for those who slipped through the cracks in the judicial system. This case should be at the top of the list.
