Fioretti to Drop Out?

  • Ald. Robert Fioretti (2nd) is reconsidering his plans to run for mayor because of what sources close to him are describing as a “health concern,” the Chicago Sun-Times has learned.

Fioretti will announce his intentions for the Feb. 22 municipal general election “no later than Wednesday,” when the full City Council meets after Tuesday’s statewide election, a source close to the alderman said.

“He will be seeking elected office,” the source said of Fioretti — an indication that if Fioretti doesn’t continue his campaign for mayor, he will seek re-election to his aldermanic seat. Under city election law, Fioretti cannot run for both offices.

If this isn't the most blatant example of crooked Illinois/Chicago politics we've seen in decades, we don't know what is. Just about every single viable candidate has been removed from the field before the nominating petitions are even filed. It sure would be interesting to see what promises were made, what dirt was dished and how much money has changed hands.

Health reasons ,huh. But still running for alderman .Oh thats right its a part time job. Its coming from the top. The fix is is .Obama has made it clear. Rahm, alexi and Quinn only because hes a democrat. Well when Obama gets up and basically says black vote 4 him,or him and its OK u know its fucked up. Imagine Kirk saying we need the white vote. You knew the fix was in when Dart dropped out. A young connected sherriff with a spotless record, after handling the cemetary stuff, could beat Rahm. But then again Why would you wanna leave that position for mayor of a fucked up city. Dart might get jodys job at $300 plus a year. Then rahm might drop the residency. So Dart can reside outside the city. Bet you fop endorses him ,so mark lands a good spot.

I honestly think if they lifted the residency rule, maybe 5 % of people move out. I mean you cant go to far out .Travel time would suck. And all the surrounding suburbs are sticklers for little shit.My buddy was painting his windows (outside)in norrdge and they made him get a permit. And imaging dumping out half the shit you dump out in Chicago ,in the burbs, youd be fucked.Taxes are close. I dont know. I think out of all the goofs running ,Rahm ,hate to say it has the most connections to get money for us and the city. He wouldnt run without a serious corrupt gameplan in order.

While some of us are on the subject:

Let's not forget that Dart is a wimpy mushmouth with no spine. Making this putz our supernintendo would be worse than JFuk. Imagine Emanuel's union busting, pension hacking coupled with a pussy for a supernintendo and what have you got?

You've got this little runt fuck Emanuel pulling the same or worse shit on the police that we've already got.

In order for Emanuel's tear down of the police and fire unions, he's got to continue the anarchy and destruction of union backing. What better way than hire a poof like Dart to let him continue contract violations and promises to union bosses to sell out the membership such as already happens here?

No matter what happens, vote for any candidate OTHER than emanuel, keep this little fuck out of Chicago with every fibre of your being.

Fioretti had NO CHANCE of winning, anyway.

Why waste the BIG money it'll take for this campaign? Rahm has already been fitted for the Daley mayoral crown and Fioretti would have been kicked to the curb in short order.

As John Kass so eloquently said the other day, "One ancient edict of the Chicago Way is that important political decisions must be made long before the voters ever get the chance to screw things up".

"Chicago politics isn't a fairy tale. It's a multibillion-dollar corporation ruled by people who expect to get paid. They don't believe in coincidence".

This has never been as evident as it is in this next election for Mayor of Chicago.

Isn't it readily apparent that the fix is in? It is likely that the two left standing in this race will be Rahm Emmanuel and Carol Mosley Braun. Mosely Braun will be this year's Roland Burris, a hapless dupe of a shill who jumps in to collect some donations but who cannot possibly win.

Speaking of Roland Burris, how about we draft Roland Burris to run, just to point out how ridiculous this sham of a mayoral election has become?

Yes, I think that is a good idea!

Roland "Tombstone" Burris for Mayor in 2011!

Go Roland, we need another sap in there. This seems for all the world like the past several mayoral elections with the winner pre-ordained and the opposing candidates with not a chance in hell of even finishing with 10% of the vote.

See how this rolls off the tongue:

Mayor Rahm Emmanuel.

There, how does that sound? You will all be hearing it plenty in coming years.

There is a guy however that is running as an Independent. Take a look at him. His name is Chris Cooper. One of the thinbgs I like about him is his stance on the Police. Unbelievable....and you'd hear from them if you didn't keep up the property as well.

Yeah, these towns are building fleets of "Code Enforcement" cars.

Addison slammed it to lower-income people by banning window air conditioners in multi-unit buildings. If you can only (barely) afford to run one small 5,000 BTU unit, it goes in the bedroom, which may be the refuge for an elderly person with medical problems who otherwise might not make it. This doesn't matter, though; the mayor thinks they're "unsightly."

You can't go and live in the country, either; there'll be a meth lab next door.

WRONG!! Residency is not a state law, but the right for a union to bargin over residency is prohibited for cities 1 million and over. The mayor or city counsel can grant it any time they wish. But for the FOP to make a barginning issue, yes, the state law must be changed.

Second, it will take a hell of a lot of cash to run for mayor of this city. I don't care who you are, if you do not have the backing it is financial suicide to run. Rahm has the backing, not sure about Dart. At this point, it sure looks like Rahm has the front runner position,

No. A judge in Cook County Circuit Court will resolve the residency issue once and for all.

Care to guess which way the judge will rule?

Any judge, pick one, they are bought and paid for. The judge will rule the way John Daley or Ed Burke tells him/her to rule. Or did you think you were living in some little hamlet in the woods where everything is honest and above board? Just fall off the pumpkin truck did 'ya?

Listen up. I think that now is the time that the members of the CPD,CFD & CPS get together and all support a candidate that will see to our needs. We must also try to run as many of us in as many wards as we can. I actually believe now is the time that we can put quite a few members in as alderman of some of the wards and have a mayor that we agree on. It was done when Byrne beat Bilandic. The FFs got on her bandwagon because she promised them a contract. And the ff's got out and activly endorsed her. Went out and walked the streets for her and helped get her elected. Now is the time to do it again. The members of these 3 departments need to get out there with our families and help as many candidates as possible. We must also find a consenses pick to work for for the office of mayor. Maybe the heads of the 3 unions will wake up and realize that NOW IS THE TIME FOR REAL CHANGE. Not the change that the dummycrats want you to believe in.

Time to put our support behind Rahm and try to suck something out of him.

That's the machine at work. Same way you got your spot I'm sure, sucking something out of whoever could give you a phone call.

I heard on the news tonight that Fioretti was recently diagnosed with cancer of the throat or esophagus.

Yep, that poster was right, state law has to be changed for the residency to be lifted whether or not the mayor had anything to do with it. Brain surgeon or not, but that's the sad reality. So for all the name calling, the guy was actually right. You think Rahm is gonna lift residency??? Good luck! This city is doomed. Now go read your Illinois State Statute book now, ignoramus.
