No Kidnapping Charge?

  • A West Side man was ordered held on $50,000 bond Sunday on charges alleging he stole an ambulance that had two paramedics inside working on his friend in the Garfield Park community.

Judge James Brown ordered Jimmy McCoy held on $50,000 bond during a hearing in Cook County Criminal Court.

McCoy, 27, who was charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Oct. 15 in West Felony Court (Br. 44).

McCoy has four felony convictions on drug charges and one attempted robbery, Assistant State's Atty. Michael Cheronis said in court. Police said McCoy had previously been arrested 32 times.

Thirty-two arrests? Not a record breaker by any means, but still. Nothing that 10 more years behind bars wouldn't cure.

Felony charges approved and the keys were in the ambulance? Why not crim. tresspass to veh. like they down play every other poss. of a stolen motor veh. when you call for approval? Amazing how the asa's pick and choose when they want to enforce the laws that are on the books.

I'm wondering if he was requested to blow or provide a drug testing specimen. That would have put the icing on the cake so to speak.

What about the paramedics? Why did they leave a running motor vehicle where anyone could drive off with it?

heard from fireman that the guy was a relative of the patient in the back of the ambulance--the reason he drove the ambulance was because he thought he would help the paramedics and drive to the hospital while they worked on his relative in the back--only in chicago!!

Answer the vehicle needs to stay running. Proper temperature must be kept in the cab at all times and also a huge amount of power is needed to maintain all equipment on board.

A preacher said, "Anyone with 'special needs' who wants to be prayed over, please come forward to the front by the altar."

With that, Leroy got in line, and when it was his turn, the Preacher asked, "Leroy, what do you want me to pray about for you?"

Leroy replied, "Preacher, I need you to pray for help with my hearing."

The preacher put one finger of one hand in Leroy's ear, placed his other hand on top of Leroy's head, and then prayed and prayed and prayed.

He prayed a "blue streak" for Leroy, and the whole congregation joined in with great enthusiasm.

After a few minutes, the preacher removed his hands, stood back and asked, "Leroy, how is your hearing now?"

Leroy answered, "I don't know. It ain't 'til next week."

If Crook County were serious about cracking down on crime (which they clearly aren't) they'd throw every possible charge at this shithead career criminal and send him back downstate for another 10 years at least.

Its pathetic how Anita Alvarez recently spoke about the need for more gun control while constantly allowing her office to under-charge violent thugs accused repeatedly of violent crimes.

Please. A little concern for the safety of others. Prevent this sort of person with Norplant so that the police won't have to shoot them later on, which could endanger innocent bystanders.

What else can you say?

To the unpublished asshat who claims we aren't publishing posts with the proper charge of "unlawful restraint:"

Have you read comments #14 and #15 asshat? Oh gee...there it is.

Now if you had said "SCC isn't publishing my posts where I call them assholes, pussies and tools," that might have been a tad more accurate.

As it is, this blog is read by 11,000 people a day. Not every one of them are cops who have a passing familiarity with the law. When we post, we try to include those people and not do too much "inside baseball" type stuff where everyone then spends hours and multiple posts explaining the terminology about 50 times because guess who has to wade through the 400 comments a day and weed out the redundant explanations?

So we're sorry for making our job easier in order to bring you this completely free website, devoid of ads and extraneous bullshit.

You're welcome dickhead.

Hey, the medics were working hard on the patient, only human, can't think of absolutely everything -- but I bet they remember this stunt now that it's happened. Hell, turn your back for half a second and you've got a 14-year-old partner driving the car...

Copper said long ago, "You don't know what they're going to do because they don't even know what they're going to do." I try to live by this on the street -- expect nothing, expect anything, and remember to be thankful for anything good that comes along.

If you insist on a "multicultural" society without "concord" -- a general consensus of the way things are and the way things should be done -- then you have to design for the lowest common denominator, with everything triple-locked all the time, broken glass cemented atop the walls, etc. -- like in a museum with smeared-up Plexiglas shields around everything. It's a drag.

"Celebrate diversity!"
