Early Voting Ends

  • Early voting in the election for mayor of Chicago is over, and the Chicago Elections Board says an unofficial total of 73,251 Chicagoans cast early ballots.

The board says that's three times the number of early votes cast ahead of the 2007 mayoral election, but roughly 10,000 fewer than for the 2008 Presidential Primary or the Nov. 2010 General Election.

The early voting was closed Thursday, but there still will be in-person absentee voting at the board's headquarters in downtown Chicago. That runs through Monday.
And the FOP election - have you sent in your ballots yet?

Early voting: When all your dead relatives come back to life to vote. But they are in too much of a hurry to go back to the grave so they don't come visit you.

You are beating a dead horse on this topic. 70% of coppers don't even vote in the FOP election and that doesn't even require you to leave your house
Pathetic but true.

I heard on 780 am that you no longer need a reason to file an absentee ballot. Why is early voteing being pushed ? There does not seem to be the same concern on the part of the democratic party regarding patronage army's as in the past. Why ? It's as if the outcome is a sure thing.

And I am sure many of those who voted were bused in from other states and paid for their votes. An independent authority should investigate the entire list of registered voters.

Chico is a product of the Daley Crime Family. He is in Burke's pocket. A vote for Chico is like voting for Richard Daley... business as usual. Chico HAS NOT vowed to take the Burke Security Detail away.

Chico said at the last debate that his most influential advisor will be Luis Gutierrez, and just so we didn't misunderstand him, he REPEATED it in his closing statement. He says he will MAINTAIN THE SANCTUARY CITY STATUS of Chicago, (though THAT is against Federal law) and WILL WORK FOR immigration reform (aka amnesty for illegal immigrants).

Everyone is always complaining on this blog about how the "sheeple" are so STUPID and keep voting Daley and his people back into office, time and time again. Gery Chico was Daley's Chief of Staff AND IS DALEY'S PEOPLE or can't anyone see the connection???

Here is the list of Chico's appointments by Daley:

*Chico served as the Chief of Staff to Mayor Richard M. Daley from 1992 to 1995

*Chico served as the Board President of the Chicago Public Schools from 1995 to 2001

*Chico served as the Board President of the Chicago Park District from 2007 to 2010

*Chico was appointed by Daley as the Board President of the City Colleges of Chicago in 2010

WTF????? Are we fricken blind?????

Chico is OUR GUY????? COME ON PEOPLE!

Look, Walls, Watkins and Mosely Braun are a waste of a vote, but at least don't throw your vote away on them OR Chico!

As I see it, it's either Emanual or del Valle. Though I know del Valle, personally, IS in favor of immigration reform, he correctly stated in the last debate that it is a FEDERAL PROBLEM. He said that the city has enough problems of its own and that he would let the Feds deal with immigration.

Make up your own mind about Rahm, but he sounds like he is no friend of Ed Burke, which, of course, is why Burke wants Chico in. It's the ONLY way he keeps his Police butler/chauffeur service intact.

BOTTOM LINE, NO MATTER WHO YOU VOTE FOR, JUST DO IT ! ! !

You won't vote for a guy who lost his dog, but you voted for a guy who doesn't know the contract and has never filed a grievance and who wasn't in Springfield fighting for our pension. Oh Yeah Lets worry about the guy that lost his dog.

Awesome. When you get stripped or incarcerated for failing to properly genuflect to a link-card zombie, make sure to thank your four rahm voters.

Minorities, welfare zombies and crackheads are the ramnunist base, as well as the super wealthy that use their votes and throw them the crumbs (at their level of wealth) to support 'em.

You can check the stte website for the Illinois Dept. of Professional Regulation. There you will find the requirements for security contractor and private detective. As I read it, for a contractor, you do not need any law enforcement experience at all. For detective, they require a rank higher then patrolman to waive the experience factor. Or you can do what I have seen many others do, lie on the application. It seems no one in this great state checks these things out.Shameful and unethical as it is.

I like Del Valle better than the other candidates, he seems like the least of all evils out there, but he is in about last place. Rahm is absolutely the worst of these bad actors. Chico is the only one that has a shot at keeping this mean creature from being mayor. Emanuel has a history of being just nasty to those that oppose him. Rahm seems to savor confrontations, is this what you want for mayor, a sawed off vindictive Napolean?

After a couple of years of Emanuel as mayor, we'll all wish for the good old days of Short Shanks.

Hey, Dummy! The guy is right. Chico is obviously part of the Daley political regime. But the problem is much bigger than even that. Emanual ... Chico ... makes no difference. The plans for your pension have already been made. You can fight for your pension all you want. Once Illinois and Chicago file for bankruptcy protection, you will be fighting for THEIR pension.

Public employees are so narrow minded and gullible and have so little vision. It's all about the bigger picture. The sole purpose of a capitalistic society is to make money. Beg? Borrow? Steal? It's all the same to Big Business. Do you realize that the last two U.S. Presidents signed off on stimulus packages worth BILLION$ of dollars and just handed it over to the banking industry? No accountability, no outline as to HOW or WHY they needed the money, no repayment plan. Just fricken handed it over...

Trust me, if somebody out the decides that Wall Street REALLY needs our pensions, you'll never see 'em again and no one will ever be prosecuted for taking them. We are just peons in this game and have no say so on how things will run. If they want Rahm to take over in Chicago, It's a done deal and you better get used to it!

OT-- Carol Mosely Braun was whipping 'em up, stumping for election from the podium of Operation PUSH Headquarters today.

Then, in one of those rare moments when reality intrudes, the camera pulled way back to show the entire inside of the place.

It was nearly empty, except for maybe 100 people in the very front rows.

*

Another sign of fiscal reality intrudes --Obama demands that 10,000 new teachers be hired this year alone, and 100,000 within the next ten years.

They will all undoubtedly arrive by high-speed Obamarail, while the poor and elderly freeze because their home heating assistance was cut to pay for this instead.

"Education" is going to be the death of us.

And the error of your argument is that GOVERNMENT got involved in the private sector! Had the GOVERNMENT not got involved, the weak would have ceased to exist (See Darwinism in the dictionary). The goal of a capitalistic society IS to make money and often at the expense of OTHER big business.... not on the backs of the working class. ONLY the Democratic Party wants you to believe that Capitalism is making money off of the working man! Oh, and just as a point of reference, since 1960, more millionaires in Congress have been Democrat than Republican! Remember, Bill Daley (new chief of staff to Obama) 11th Ward "regular" Bridgeport guy made $20 million LAST year! Do you think he really gives a freak about the working man?
