More Shots Fired at Police
Chicago police exchanged shots with two armed robbery suspects early this morning on the 7800 block of South Cottage Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood.
No one was wounded, and the suspects were arrested, said Police News Affairs [...].
The officers were responding to a report of an armed robbery about 12:55 a.m. when the suspects opened fire on them, [...]. The officers returned fire.
No damage, so almost no coverage in the media. But still a hairy situation.
And once again, if the story involved police officers shooting at a suspect or suspects who are making an attempt to kill them, the Tribune Company closes the comments section so no words of encouragement or praise might be heaped upon the officers doing their jobs.

Yep ramming off-duties vehicles last week and shoot out this week. Do we have enough illegal immigrant gang members here in this sanctuary city yet?
Thank god for The Blog!
Keep up the good work SCC
Cops getting shot at or a gun pointed at them just about every 3-4 day, an all time numbers of officers being murdered, back logs everyday, little to no back up, response time to a call for 911 ridiculous, pensions way underfunded due to big gap in contributions, crime out of control. Department short 2,200 and falling every month by about 30 officers or so and what does the city continue to do? Fail to hire more cops. Public safety obviously not a priority for this f'd up city we call Shitcago.
I will give the words of praise....Thank God the officers returned to their family ok. Stay safe everyony out there, you are in my thoughts and prayers!

I've been reading the scc blog for a couple years now, ever since an article in the Daily Southtown clued me in to it. It's the best source I know of for finding out what really goes on in this City."
"Stories break on the blog before they do in the MSM, which frequently rips it off."
NOTE: The above is a comment that was posted on a neighborhood blog, Uptown Update, a week or so ago when they linked to a story on SCC, "Bombs In Uptown". I don't think "Therese" is the only one who knows this, right Rahm?
Nothing but thanks and praise for my fellow officers....when the call came out that an officer(actually a SGT) was shot 79th ST shined in blue lights within seconds. Districts 3, 4, 5 and 7 came out to assist. Such support reminds me that despite the Weis/Daley years and the uncertain Rahm future, our department core-patrol-will always get by, together. We (patrol) are the ugly mutts without pedigree(clout) that will never win a dog show(a "spot"), but, nevertheless, most loyal to an abusive and thankless master(general public and politicians).
Thank God you guys are ok and safe. Rule #1 of policing: go home safely to your family.
Nationwide epidemic...Foxnews reported that 50 l.o.d. deaths this year so far as compared to 45 last year to this point. 11% increase during the coldest months, what is summer going to bring? That was one of the things that made me the most pissed off about J-Fled saying crime was down, it was way up against CPD. He had more L.O.D. deaths per year than any other modern day supt. He, Daley and the media are to thank for that, creating an anti-police environment.
Too bad the officers did not shoot
and kill the robbers.
If they had then they could have
dragged them right on into Leak's
Funeral Parlor which is on that
same block.
Great job by MSF....and they want to get rid of them???? makes sense
lets put all the police on the south and westside of the city. lets throw a couple billion dollars at a school system which half the kids dont attend or stage mini riots after the final bell. kinda like jerry springer live. or....why doesnt 1 politician address the real issues that create this culture of violence? being PC sure costs alot of lives. shots fired at police..ho hum
It's time that we have more heavy weapons trained officers...point a gun at a cop??? Blast them....it's getting crazy out there....fight crazy with crazy.

Never mind safety, we need stats! More missions will keep the police safe. More CB's too!
Seems if there is any mention of a gun or gunfire in Chicago Breaking News, there is no chance to comment. I'd love to know why the Tribune is so gun shy!
Either Hillard shave the goatee or go buy dope in narcotics.
Where was MSF when the po was shot at? TRU was heavily present...

Are they still following their written in-office policy, as described by one reporter, of not printing or broadcasting the race of wanted offenders?
One day WGN (Tribune-owned) carefully presented some crime story, a rape or shooting or something serious, without mentioning the offender's race. They did show a police drawing, which could have been black or Hispanic or Middle Eastern.
Coppers nailed the guy the next day. WGN showed his mug shot. M/1.
So what's the problem?
These people are twisting and turning so hard in an agony of being "nice" that they're gonna disappear up their own backside.

What does Rahm Emanuel intend to do about the "Sanctuary City" problem?
Is anyone else sick of the lack of press that our own Police Media fails to put forth. I mean come on, years past every police shooting would have Pat Camden (like him or not)in front of the cameras explaining to the public how the bad guy pointed a gun at the officers and the shooting was good. Say what you want about Camden but where is our own media person Lt. Maureen Biggane. When is the last time you saw her pretty face get on the news and defend us. She has been absent even when officers have been killed. I'm jealous of the Western located Police agencies that have their Commish. or their Supt. tell the public how, "If you point a gun at one of my officers, then you better dam well expect to be fired upon!" I hope the new union leaders take the opportunity to "feed the animal" and defend us. What a novel idea, call a press conference, (they will come) and tell the public what Pookie did, how he has been arrested twenty times and still is out hunting humans. Then tell how he made the choice when he raised his weapon. The public doesn't get behind us because the only news they hear is from the enemy. Lt. Biggane, earn your CO pay and start talking. Shields, take a lesson and start calling press conferences and telling the public what is going on. This city is a fucking war zone and only the Police, the poor citzens/crime victims and the animal know it. Tell the rest of the sheep what is happening on a daily basis. The bleeding liberals dont realize that we average over a murder a day and several shootings a day. What a shithole. To my brothers in blue, stay safe.

Can't remember which nut recently said that "all the new development along 79th Street is directly attributable to Father Michael Pfleger."
It shows...
Pfleger has been at St. Sabina's more than thirty years now, is marshalling support for even longer, and the Cardinal is too afraid of him to tell him what to do.

Great job by MSF
What is it that they did pray tell?
I read the report at roll call. MSF amd TRU were nowhere on the paper, so obviously their contribution wasn't much.

What does Rahm Emanuel intend to do about the "Sanctuary City" problem?
I bet he's does absolutely NOTHING.
Look at the public schools, filled with anchor babies at the taxpayer's expense. Brand new schools being built for kids who parents send all their tax-free cash back to Mexico. Richie Daley allowed this cancer to come in and explode. It needs more than a full dose of chemo to put it at bay.
Start arresting and calling ICE. Deport for all felonies, warning to get out of town for a misd. Start writing up the landlords and employers who are co-conspirators in this mess. There are laws out there to protect the US citizen and our present lawmakers, city, state and feds all look the other way.
Impound every veh where there is no lic and no insurance...that could be a huge money-maker for the city. Want your car back? Prove you are legal and pay for it. If not, impound for 60 days and then sell at auction, city keeps the change. That includes every white trash hillbilly who rides w/out lic and ins., and every westside homeboy, tag them all, city reaps benefits, keeps the scum off the streets and sells the cars at auction when they are unclaimed, a win-win for the city and all the law-abiding citizens who play by the rules. Hey, the taxpayer might even get a break and see their insurance premiums go down, isn't that why they are so sky high? We are paying for all those with no insurance and they keep on getting away with it with a slap on the back of the hand.
However, I am 100% sure that Rahm won't do a thing and this keeps spiraling out of control. IF your people really read this blog, please check out the names of those who are sitting in CC jail and you will find that a HUGE percentage are illegals and nothing is being done about it. Cook county and the fed gov feed, clothe, give them 3 meals and a cot. The liberal Tribune and Sun times are too scared to run this story, but aren't afraid to write stories that an illegal 18 y/o cries that they don't get federal grants for college, Durbin Turbin's pet project. Are you reading this Mr. Rahm? You want to "turn around the city", start with this because it is a HUGE problem.
Seems if there is any mention of a gun or gunfire in Chicago Breaking News, there is no chance to comment. I'd love to know why the Tribune is so gun shy!

BEcause there are still a lot of citizens who read the Trib (I stopped subscribing to the lib shit a few years ago) who are law-abiding and are tired of the way we have bent backwards, be politically correct, and see our city quickly become a city south of the border. They don't want to hear the comments that the general law-abiding public are getting pissed on how our leaders have taken a ho-hum approach to crime because most of the crime is not being generated from the kids in private or catholic schools, with the exception of Daley's kid and nephew. Instead of taking a hard-line approach, they just keep on throwing more money at the problem, free meals, free after-school and free backpacks and school supplies, and it will all go away. Shit some schools now provide free "pantry" for the kids to bring more free food home to the already free LINK card and
SSI parent. None of these little bastards look like they are starving either. When will it end?
Per a conversation with one of our TRUE subject matter experts emeritus...
"Just keep killin' the shit out of 'em until they get the message..."
Heh... "Almost out of ammo, send more shitheads."
What the fuck Sgt O? These motherfuckers keep shooting at you all the time. Be safe Gresham midnight warriors! I'm going back to my farm hideaway. This shit is getting worse by the day.
What does Rahm Emanuel intend to do about the "Sanctuary City" problem?
ANSWER: Nothing
We are s sanctuary state.
