Great Turnout
- Chicago police say more than 4,000 people attended a 5K run and walk held to remember fallen officers.
Saturday's event marked the 7th annual Run to Remember at the city's lakefront.
Participants included the friends, family members and colleagues of the five Chicago police officers who were killed in the line of duty last year.
The run/walk raises money for the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, which provides support to the families of officers who have been killed or severely injured in the line of duty.
And a great day for it, too. Good job to everyone who helped plan, run and participate.
CBS and ABC also covered the event.

Ran my 1st 5k yesterday. It was a GREAT experience. Everyone that attended last years race said it looked like the race had doubled in size. I plan on running it every year.
Job well done by the race staff!!!
Now I'm OTW to the Parade
Great job R.A.

I was at the st jude march today and the one problem I noticed is alot of officers were wearing a bluetooth earpiece. Are you really that important you can shut off your phone for 30 mins for the march to honor the fallen
It was a beautiful day in the company of many of Chicago's Finest!
Good Job to all. I ran/walked for Team Targeted Response. Over 175 runners on the team and raised over $6000 in donations.
GREAT turn out at Saint Judes this year...although WAY too much confusion as always...possibly put together a map of sorts so we are not walking around lost looking for our units

The The National Police Research Platform survey that was sent out via department email is for some professor from either the U of I or the Univ. of Chicago.
This is not something that the department is doing. This is some federal grant that a professor got.
Just to let you know.
And, NO I WILL NOT BE PARTICIPATING!

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT.....
My prayers and thoughts for my fellow classmates of 78-1(D) on this day of remembrance, who died, or were killed in the performance of their duties...OFFICER D. BRANDON...SGT. E. STOFFREGAN .
" We we're all soldiers, once, and young ".
My apologies to Lt.Gen. Moore, (U.S.A,RET.) for using the title of his book, but, I could not find any better words to express my pride...and sorrow on this day.
Good job by all the organizers and lets not forget the volunteers. How about medals for the kids running the junior jog. Kids will appreciate it more than a certificate.
